Just got back from 2 weeks at the anthea I must say it was a great stay all the staff were pleasant not a bad look or being funny with us we had a cleaner every day free safe free air-conditioning just 15 euro deposit on the safe key and money returned as you leave . My only gripe was no tv in the room nice big room as well qould use again

Misleading Photos, Disgusting Conditions, and Absolutely No Hospitality
What a dump! Do not be misled by the carefully curated photos. I am posting my own photographs so that prospective guests can compare the advertised images with the reality.
Just look at the entrance to my room and the corridor of the building. The state of these areas is disgraceful. The bathroom was equally appalling, with a disgusting shower curtain and bathtub tiles covered in mold. This is not a matter of luxury or personal taste; it is a matter of basic cleanliness and maintenance.
How much does it cost to replace a bathroom mirror if necessary? How much does it cost to provide a bottle of water and two glasses in a room for arriving guests? And how difficult is it to ensure that the soap dispensers are actually filled, rather than leaving guests to chase someone down for soap at midnight?
The only decent aspect of my stay was the breakfast, which was served until 10 a.m. Even that ended in disappointment. At 10:05 a.m., I went to get a glass of water, only to find that everything had been cleared away. The water dispenser had even been covered, as though allowing a guest to drink a little water five minutes after breakfast was an unreasonable demand.
This is not hospitality. It is a complete failure to provide even the most basic standards of cleanliness, maintenance and consideration for guests.
You should be ashamed of yourselves. Prospective guests deserve to see the reality before they spend their money here. That is precisely why I am posting these photographs.

Absolutely Disgusting
I am currently staying at this hotel from the 9-16 Oct. I arrived in the early hours of Sat morning (10th). Completely tired from a long day. I was allocated my room which was room 141 , ground floor and near a car park far at the back. I walked in and was absolutely disgusted. I will insert pictures as to why. At approximately 9am I was woken by two men banging on my door they then proceed to let themselves in and headed to the bedroom shouting housekeeping. Not even a chance to properly get out of bed. I quickly ushered them out . (Sole traveller) . 10am phone call from customer services stating they incorrectly allocated the wrong room to me . I’m suppose to be in a deluxe and therefore can I come to reception the next day and they will allocate my correct room. I had to pack up all my stuff and leave it with reception. I was not given this new room until 5pm on 11th Oct. So I have almost lost out of 3 full days. So now I’m having to go back and forth between the hotel and the agent I book with to get a refund.
The first room is absolutely awful. I was in the ground floor , near a car park , at the back. There is no disturb sign on the door. Housekeeping just let themselves in if you’re not quick enough to shout out. The furniture is outdated. No TV. WiFi is poor. The furniture is dirty so are the doors and walls .
Athena Hotel you need to update this part of the building.
I’m currently staying in the new part near reception and it is lovely.

Avoid, there are much better options
We stayed here for a week and it is nothing like the pictures online. I will start with the positives. It is in a great location for the restaurants and bars and the air con worked really well. The staff seemed pleasant. Now the negatives, there is no TV either in the rooms or available to use. The rooms are extremely tired and in need of a huge makeover. The plug sockets are on the other side of the room. The one closest to me was in the kitchen. There is no hair dryer in the room but available if you go to reception and pay €20 deposit. There is no iron unless you go down to reception and iron your clothes in reception in front of everyone. I would like to mention that our room was at the back of the hotel in a separate building that had its own entrance and looked like the staff accommodation. As we were at the back, we were very close to the church that blasts the church bells and the whole service through their outdoor speakers. We were woken every morning at 07:30 to the bells and also in the evening when trying to have a nap before going out for the evening/night. The sunbeds are extremely uncomfortable as the material is thin. It is not easy to get in and out of the pool as the only access is the metal steps, one on each end of the pool.

A star for Anthea Apts
Really pleased with Anthea apts.
Lovely, friendly, helpful staff, great location.
Clean and tidy apartments, yes a little dated but these are advertised as 1 star and low key, so we knew what to expect and which is what we booked for anyway as we weren't planning to be in them other to sleep and change and for a morning cuppa
They had everything we needed inc a kettle, fridge, stove, table & chairs, balcony.
Good storage space too.
Wonderful pool area. Music and bar and snacks around the pool. Great vibes.
Cleaning team always working.
Great departure relaxing lounge area.
We felt safe and comfortable there. Would return gladly!
