We had an amazing stay at the Amethyst Napa Hotel & Spa! The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere throughout the hotel was wonderful.
A very special thank you to Coco from the entertainment team, who truly made our holiday extra memorable. He kept both kids and adults entertained throughout the days with great energy, fun activities, and a fantastic attitude. He always made everyone feel included and brought so much joy to the hotel experience.
We highly recommend this hotel and would love to come back again!
Absolutely love this place! We have stayed at this hotel twice and am looking to go back for sure! Coco made it extra special! Such a great guy! Hotel is spotless clean, friendly staff and food is delicious!
Stayed here 3 years ago and it was lovely.
This time around I don’t know where to begin. Staff are really nice but that’s about it. When you pay £2300 to stay here you’d expect to be able to get a sun lounger, not the case. Apparently anyone is allowed to come into the hotel and use the facilities. You’d expect the spa to be a relaxing place to be, not the case apparently feral children can run riot and scream the place down in the spa. Also the sauna doesn’t work and the jets in the jacuzzi rarely work either. Cleaners…. If that’s what you’d call them… they don’t clean your room they just replace your towels and make an already made bed. Been here a week and our bedsheets haven’t been changed once. The beds have to be the most uncomfortable beds ever. The pool is filthy and missing tiles and has holes in the filters at the bottom. Surely half board means you should be allowed 2 of the 3 meals a day not the case we wasn’t told which meals we could have until we went for lunch and was refused lunch because apparently you can only have breakfast and dinner. (Wasn’t told this).
I don’t want to go around taking pictures of the problems as it’ll seem a bit weird but there’s many issues. Lights not working in the bathroom tiles in the pool missing aircon never staying on… so many and the allowing people (around 40-50) to use the facilities is insane. I feel this was a wasted holiday we still have a week left but will probably check out and stay elsewhere.
The food was okay overall. Breakfast had very little variety but was fairly standard for a buffet. Lunch was the least interesting meal of the day. Dinner featured different themed evenings, with quality varying from day to day.
The all-inclusive drinks consisted mainly of local soft drinks. The sugar-free option, Cola Zero, was of very poor quality and tasted awful. Drinking water was provided in refillable bottles from a tap that was supposedly safe for tourists, but we didn’t want to take the risk, so we bought bottled water from the large supermarket across the road.
The rooms were nice, reasonably clean, and had good air conditioning. However, the towels and bed linen had a yellowish colour, and I’m not convinced the bedding was changed during our one-week stay.
The pool had rules about reserving sunbeds and appropriate behaviour, including no ball games or large inflatables. Unfortunately, these rules were not enforced at all. There was quite a lot of sand and other debris in the pool, and we even found nicotine pouches floating in the water. We managed to get sunbeds every day by reserving them, just like everyone else. On our last day, a group of very loud British guests were extremely disruptive in the pool and disturbed everyone around them. The lifeguard and hotel staff did very little to address the situation. Fortunately, they only arrived on our final day.
The beach is about a 400-metre walk from the hotel. It is quite crowded with sunbeds, which cost €3 each—very affordable compared to many other parts of Europe. The beach itself is lovely, with clear water and fine sand. However, it is quite a long walk to the centre of Ayia Napa. The immediate area around the hotel has a couple of supermarkets and a few restaurants, which was sufficient since we had all-inclusive.
The so-called gym deserves just one star. It was almost empty and not really equipped well enough to be called a fitness room.
There were plenty of staff in the restaurant to serve drinks and clear tables, which was appreciated.
Overall, our stay was average. In my opinion, this hotel does not live up to its four-star rating.
We have just returned from a week's holiday at the Amethyst and can't wait to return in September. This hotel is around 2km from Ayia Napa Centre but the bus stops are very near only cost 2 euros pp and 2 euros pp later at night.
The atmosphere is very relaxing - maybe a bit more noisy at weekends but so are the beaches!
Our room was quite large, overlooking pool and sea as they all do. The maids kept them clean and tidy everyday. Couldnt fault the housekeeping.
Our flight was changed going home and after a request to the hotel reception, they let us keep our room on for a few more hours which was much appreciated. They were always very friendly!
We stayed half board and the breakfast was varied or all nationalities and also the lunch was equally as good! We decided just to do breakfast and lunch! The staff were always courteous! The restaurant was very clean and tidy. Cannot comment on evening entertainment but the pool activities were well attended in the mornings.
We had a wonderful week's stay and are looking forward to another 10 days in September. Thorough recommended this hotel!
