- Kapetanios Odysseia

You're just a stone's throw from the beach at the Kapetanios Odysseia Hotel, part of the Kapetanios group of hotels, in Limassol. It's a great base for getting out and about and making the most of Limassol - its beaches, shops and sights. The Kapetanios Odysseia is a three and a half star hotel, so you'll enjoy a very comfortable stay here, with plenty of great amenities and great service.
The Kapetanios Odysseia is right 'on the doorstep' of the lovely Olympus Promenade. It runs along the beach and you can follow it into the old town and explore a bit more of lovely Limassol.
The beach is another highlight - and being so close is a real bonus. You can take a quick stroll down to the beach and breathe in that wonderful sea air any time you want.
There is plenty to do at the hotel whilst you're on your Cyprus holiday. There is a fully renovated pool with jacuzzi which is heated in the winter. Or you can enjoy any kind of workout - from a light tone up to a full training session at the hotel gym - with health club, sauna and Jacuzzi.
Service is a real feature of the Kapetanios Odysseia - and you'll be very well treated here, whether you're travelling solo or in a group. We particularly like the 'Solo Traveller's Table' - a place to get together and make new friends. Another great feature of staying at the Kapetanios Odysseia Hotel is that there's a regular programme of events and shows to keep you amused and entertained. Please note the entertainment is seasonal.
Rooms all come with central air conditioning / heating, tea/coffee facilities, satellite TV, hairdryer, safe, phone, minibar and a lovely little seating area.
With a great setting and amenities, you'll really make the most of Limassol when you stay at the Kapetanios Odysseia.
The Kapetanios Odysseia, part of the Kapetanios group of hotels, enjoys an enviable position in the heart of Limassol, only 100 metres from the beach. The hotel is well renowned for its high level of service with a warm and friendly atmosphere. With the infamous Olympus promenade on the door step, guests have easy access to attractive walk-ways along the coastal line.
The main advantage of this hotel is its location. It is within walking distance of the seafront and has a swimming pool. However, the overall experience was fairly average, and there are several areas where the hotel falls short of what I would expect from a four-star property.
Before arriving, I had read some reviews describing poor room conditions. My room was not nearly as bad and appeared to have been renovated at some point. That said, it had no view, the door gaps were large enough to let light through, the bathroom was very small, and water pressure was rather weak.
Housekeeping could definitely be more attentive. Coffee capsules were not replenished, and bottled water was provided only on the first day of the stay, with no refills afterward. Given the hot Cyprus climate, this felt unreasonable. I also noticed that the shower gel and hand soap dispensers were labeled incorrectly, which seemed like a basic oversight.
There were also several maintenance issues. The air-conditioning control panel constantly displayed temperatures above 30°C even though the room itself was quite cold, making the display essentially useless. The refrigerator produced unusual noises throughout the stay, and I occasionally found mosquitoes in the room.
I booked the half-board option. When occupancy is low, dinner is served as a set menu rather than a buffet. Portions were very generous, and while the food was not particularly memorable, it was perfectly adequate. The restaurant staff were actually one of the highlights of my stay, as they were friendly and professional. Breakfast was average.
Overall, the hotel feels dated, and attention to detail is lacking in several areas. Nothing was seriously wrong, but considering the available options in Limassol, I would probably spend a little more and choose a different hotel next time.
I really liked receptionist Sandra. She very kindly explained me about facilities and Health Club and made my stay much more memorable.I enjoyed the sweet menu for breakfast (especially the Banana pie, its amazing!!) Also, the view from my room - Amazing Sadly, I did not have warm water and the mini bar in the room was empty..
Rude staff, not accommodating. Room service is awful. NOISY hotel. Next to the lift, so can hear it every ten seconds. They had drilling going on till 2am - the mirror in bathroom was shaking with the drilling. The cleaner knocked on the door at 8am when checkout is 12. Crappy sleep, old dated room. Tv volume goes up and down on its own. Sink right infront on toilet. No space. Waste of a night. They need to upgrade their rooms. Worst hotel experience.
It proved to be a difficult couple of night's sleep because for the 2 night's stay, the 2 narrow beds that were pushed together to form a double, were very soft and you had a very narrow part to lay on. If you turned slightly to the side, you would instantly roll off. The floor is wood-effect laminate and it is very slippery, so the beds parted without much force, so you still ended up on the floor.
I have no complaints of the staff at reception, or breakfast. The staff were friendly and efficient.
Generally, the hotel and rooms were clean and tidy.
Of note, It has an incredibly powerful shower and lots of hot water. I particularly liked, that there was a small bath tub, but at least it was a bath tub, and not a shower cubicle.
The breakfast was very satisfactory with a good variety and quality of food.
Parking was secure and under cover.
To summarise, it was good, but for the beds that didn't allow any sleep for fear of falling out of bed. That's why I will not return again.
We went to Odysia Kapetanios Hotel just to have a drink, not to swim, and all this happened. Suddenly, they told us we had to pay €12 each just for entrance, even though we didn’t plan to use the pool at all. Every other time we’ve visited, no one ever asked us to pay if we weren’t swimming.
The woman at reception, she explained everything in a rude, arrogant, and unprofessional way. Instead of politely clarifying the policy, she spoke with a disrespectful and sarcastic attitude that made us feel very unwelcome.
We asked to speak to the manager or the director, but — conveniently — no one was available.
We used to enjoy coming here, but after this experience, we’ll definitely never return. Totally unacceptable service and attitude. Not recommended at all.
