Surrounded by more than 20,000 m2 of beautifully landscaped gardens with exotic trees and sub-tropical plants which extend right down to the seashore, the luxury hotel GrandResort enjoys a fantastic beach side location in the exclusive Amathus area of Limassol. The lively city centre with its shopping opportunities is about 11 km away; the international airports of Larnaca and Paphos are at a distance of 56 km and 70 km, respectively. Guests are welcomed in an attractive indoor atrium lined with hanging gardens and lavish furnishings. The rooms are elegantly appointed with modern furnishings and relaxing earthy tones. All of them have a private balcony, and the vast majority boasts panoramic views over the sea and the pool. The hotel features a lovely pool area with a tranquil free-form pool. Guests can enjoy a rejuvenating massage or spa treatment in the fully renovated wellness centre & spa. A marvellous place for a beach holiday in style or a romantic getaway.
We have really enjoyed our stay at the GrandResort in Limassol and would definitely consider returning.
We arrived at around 2am after a late flight. As weβd missed our first dayβs meals, the hotel gave us meal vouchers to use at any point during our stay so that we didnβt lose out on food weβd already paid for. We thought this was a really thoughtful gesture and it made a great first impression.
The location is excellent. Itβs just outside the centre of Limassol, so you get a much quieter setting, but itβs incredibly easy to get into the city. The number 30 bus stops almost directly outside the hotel, costs just β¬2 per adult each way, and children travel free, making it an easy and affordable trip.
The hotel itself is beautiful and right on the beach. Itβs spacious without feeling overwhelming, with lovely dΓ©cor and a luxurious, relaxing atmosphere. At the start of our holiday it was wonderfully peaceful. The buffet restaurant was never crowded, there were no queues, and we never had any trouble finding sunbeds after breakfast, which was a huge plus.
As the week went on, however, the hotel became much busier. It seemed as though there were quite a few local visitors, possibly on day passes, although weβre not certain. Unfortunately, the peaceful atmosphere changed quite noticeably. The buffet became extremely busy and, if you werenβt there as soon as the restaurant opened, some dishes had run out and werenβt being replenished quickly enough. The staff seemed to be working hard but struggling to keep up. On one occasion there wasnβt any cutlery laid out on the tables, so we had to wait, and every day there was lots of food left on the floor that never seemed to get cleaned up. We also noticed litter and debris on the stairwells and around the hotel that didnβt seem to be cleared promptly. Itβs these little attention-to-detail issues that let an otherwise lovely hotel down.
Our room was modern and a good size overall, but the housekeeping could have been a little more thorough. We noticed some grime around the shower door, there was a previous guestβs hair on my bedside lamp, and the walls are looking quite tired and marked in places, so they could do with a fresh coat of paint. None of these issues spoiled our stay, but they did take away slightly from what is otherwise a lovely hotel.
The bathroom also felt quite small for a family of three, and the storage was lacking. There was only one wardrobe with very limited drawer space, so we simply couldnβt unpack three suitcases and ended up living out of them for the week.
The staff throughout the hotel were friendly, welcoming and helpful, which really added to the experience. We appreciated how thorough the lifeguards were as some guests did try to take liberties by the pool and were swiftly told off. The man on the lobby bar was also so friendly and really lovely with our son.
The only other downside was the cost of drinks. As half-board guests we expected to pay for them, but β¬11.50 for two Pepsis and one apple juice felt excessive. We ended up buying drinks from the supermarket across the road instead, which was much better value.
Our five-year-old has absolutely loved the holiday. There is plenty to keep children entertained, making it a great choice for families. We would have liked to see a little more evening entertainment aimed at adults, as most of the activities seemed focused on children.
Overall, this is a lovely hotel in a fantastic location with excellent staff and a relaxing atmosphere, particularly when itβs quieter. There are a few areas where attention to detail could be improved, particularly around housekeeping, cleanliness in the busier periods and room storage, but none of these outweighed the positives. We would happily return, although weβd probably choose a quieter time of year to enjoy the peaceful ambience we experienced at the start of our stay.
Service at the Ouzeria is outstanding. Rejan is highly professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. His timing, knowledge of the menu, and warm approach elevate the entire dining experience. Guests feel well taken care of from start to finish.A truly excellent visit to The Grand Resort, made even better by the Ouzeriaβs atmosphere, food, and topβlevel service.
The Asian restaurant was outstanding. The freshness of the ingredients was clear in every dish, the food and flavor were vibrand and perfectly balanced, and the service was truly fantastic. Hazel gives it a 5 star rating service. ,π
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!
This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had, and I travel frequently.
The cleanliness was absolutely appalling. Everything was dirtyβfrom the corridors and guest rooms to the area around the swimming pool. The standards were so poor that I checked out after just two days, despite having paid for a full week's stay.
The management team were unhelpful and failed to address any of the issues I raised. Since returning home, I have contacted the hotel several times but have been completely ignored. I also booked through Expedia, and the hotel has failed to respond to their correspondence as well.
As a result of leaving early, I had to pay for another hotel entirely at my own expense.
Since returning home, I have also been diagnosed with cancer. I simply asked the hotel to refund the unused portion of my stay, but even under these circumstances, they have continued to ignore my emails.
I would strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to book elsewhere. The cleanliness, food, customer service and overall experience were all extremely disappointing. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.
This is my third visit to this beautiful hotel. Staff were amazing. Swim up room was fantastic to chill after a day at the beach. Hotel room very clean and lots of space. Food could not fault it. Lots to choose from at breakfast dinner. Clean around the hotel and around the pool areas. Looking forward to my next visit.
