Valamar Argosy Hotel

Got back 2 days ago from the most relaxing and enjoyable holiday we have had in a long time. The hotel is great. Staff lovely. Food amazing. Pools are in a beautiful position so the views are to die for. The old town is a short bus ride away and you can buy the bus tickets at the shop located int he hotel for 1.75e each way. Bus stop just outside the hotel. Would recommend and would return.

Lovely quiet hotel with a peaceful feeling. Nice pool area, having both an indoor and outdoor pool, with plenty of beds and brollies, but as always there are those that block the beds all day and don’t use them. Staff were very friendly and helpful when we had questions. In particular Iva on the Experience Concierge desk at reception gave us lots of information and ideas of things to do while we were there; and Josef H in the restaurant was very efficient and polite. The food was a good selection without being too overwhelming. At breakfast there were cereals, cooked breakfast, fruit, meat and cheeses. At dinner there was always a fish option in addition to meat and vegetarian choices. If you have dietary requirements these can be catered for, for example there was gluten free bread at breakfast and oat milk. The only quibble with the food was the wait at busy times, the dishes were not always topped up as quickly as required. Some of the meat and fish were cooked fresh on hot plates and this also created a delay if this was what you chose to eat, but only a few minutes. There is a bus stop close to the hotel and we were able to buy bus tickets in the hotel shop which were €1.73 instead of €2.50 (each way ) when bought on the bus. The bus runs from early morning until around midnight every 15 minutes. I would recommend this hotel if you want somewhere outside of Dubrovnik to sit by the pool and relax in between sightseeing.
