This hotel is situated in a quiet location on the coast of Babin Kuk peninsula near the old town of Dubrovnik, surrounded by green Mediterranean oasis. It is just 300 m from the beach and 6 km from the town centre. Links to public transport can be found in the immediate vicinity while the airport is at 23 km away. Guests can enjoy a stay in a comfortable, stylish room with balcony. In-room amenities include air-conditioning, safe, LCD TV, minibar and bathroom with hairdryer. Guests can relax in the wellness zone or by the fantastic outdoor infinity pools with a view of the sea and nearby islands. Diving and water sports centres are located just 250 m from the hotel. Guests can spend their days in active recreation and return for rest and entertainment to the hotel.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Very good location. Superb service. Immaculately clean. Wonderful food with lots of variety for vegetarians and non vegetarians.
Relaxing calm poolside with available loungers- even in July!
Bus ride nearby to Dubrovnik.
We booked a superior room which was spacious and clean.
Would definitely recommend this hotel. Shout out to Govanna in the restaurant who always had a welcoming smile. Thank you.
We stayed here as a group of ladies and had a wonderful time. We treated ourselves to a spa day, and the therapists were absolutely lovely. Anita, Massa, and Kanjanapa were all incredibly professional, and the treatments were exactly what we needed. They made the experience so relaxing and enjoyable. We also spent a lot of time at the Oliva Restaurant, where Luca, Ante, Khristyan, and Antonio provided exceptional service. They made every day fun, kept us laughing, and even had us dancing at times! Their friendliness and enthusiasm really made our holiday memorable. I'd also like to mention Patritra, Filip, and Tommy, who couldn't have been more helpful throughout our stay. Their willingness to help and positive attitude were greatly appreciated. While the overall experience was excellent, not every member of staff was as welcoming or friendly. The General Manager was present every day and always took the time to greet us, which was a lovely touch. Unfortunately, a few staff members seemed less suited to customer-facing roles. However, the outstanding service from the team members I've mentioned more than made up for those less positive interactions. Thank you to everyone who helped make our stay so enjoyable. We left with some wonderful memories.
We’re currently staying here and, overall, it’s been a mixed experience.
The room is lovely, with beautiful high ceilings and a spectacular sea view. It’s definitely one of the highlights of our stay. Breakfast is also very good, with a wide selection of fresh food to suit all tastes. The bar staff are friendly and welcoming, and the cocktails are delicious.
Unfortunately, there are several things letting the hotel down. We’ve spent time by the pool hoping to relax, but there has been a group of around 12 people shouting, drinking in the pool and creating a lot of noise. We’re not even sure they’re hotel guests, and it completely ruins what should be a peaceful atmosphere.
Another frustration is the sun lounger policy. Towels are removed from loungers if they’re left unattended during lunchtime, which seems unnecessarily strict and makes it difficult to enjoy a relaxed day by the pool.
The buffet dinner has been particularly disappointing. Food isn’t being replenished, even before 8:00 pm, meaning several dishes are empty if you arrive a little later. The service also feels rushed. As soon as you order drinks, the bill is presented, giving the impression you’re expected to pay immediately. It creates an atmosphere of “eat and get out” rather than encouraging guests to relax and enjoy the evening.
To top it off, we received an email the day before we’re due to leave asking us to complete online checkout. While we understand it’s intended to make departure easier, it adds to the feeling that the hotel is more focused on moving guests through than on providing a relaxed holiday experience.
There are some genuinely excellent aspects to this hotel, particularly the rooms, breakfast and bar staff, but the pool atmosphere and dining experience need significant improvement to match the standard of the accommodation.
Me and my boyfriend have just returned from spending 10 days at Valamar Argosy and we're absolutely gutted to have left. If you are looking for a gorgeous base to explore Dubrovnik and the local area then do not hesitate to book.
From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and the receptionist explained that our room was not ready (this was at 1pm) and to check back in an hour. We got a drink and walked around the hotel grounds, we were stunned by how green and maintained the communal areas were! At 2pm, we got our room keys. The room had everything you needed and my boyfriend claimed it was the comfiest bed he had ever slept in. The room was cleaned every day, the shower was powerful and warm, and the air con worked incredibly well. There was a mini fridge that we did not purchase from but managed to squeeze some of our own items into (I think I've seen another review saying that you can simply remove their items but I'd probably check with the housekeeping staff).
We were half board and ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel every day. We were very impressed with the food! It was clearly labelled with allergen/dietary information available too. In the mornings, you could have a fresh omelette prepared for you and could see other chefs preparing bacon and sausages. There were continental options too and we HIGHLY rated the banana muffins. There was something different every night but also key staples like wood fired pizza, fish, meat, potatoes. We could not get enough of the apricot dumplings for dessert!
This hotel has given us the most incredible views during our holiday, including a stormy evening! We both said it was the best hotel view we have ever had. Wherever you sit around the pool and for breakfast/dinner had an unreal view. The sunsets were absolutely beautiful and definitely a highlight.
The outdoor pool was colder on some days than others (but maybe that was just a feeling due to the temperature itself changing) and very clean with fun massage fountains and seating. There were always sun loungers available however the "best positioned" ones were usually taken by 10.30am and it would be harder to get more than 2 together. The 4-poster beds were usually taken by 8am. You are not allowed to put your towel on a sunbed until 8am and there are regular checks by staff that remove your belongings if you're away from your sunbed for too long. There was lovely soft music playing next to the sunbeds all day. Most sunbeds had a built in visor to move and cover your face which was much appreciated!
The drinks from the hotel and Olivia Bar and Grill were reasonably priced however for snacks we would definitely recommend visiting the shops nearby. As you leave the front of the hotel, turn left and walk through the park and you'll find 2-3 shops with an ice cream parlour too! We regularly had lunch at the Garden Bistro Café.
There was live entertainment almost every night and it was highly enjoyable to sit in the outdoor seating areas and listen to the bands. We didn't venture out of the hotel much at all because we had absolutely everything we needed - we would 100% recommend booking this hotel.
A very nice hotel to indulge yourself in its Infinity pools and beaches. Great spa and excellent massages. Special mention deserves the full group of cooks and waiters of the Oliva restaurant with Zlatan commanding the operations: we were a very large group (30 people!) and he always managed to put together as many tables as needed to have dinner together despite showing Up in the last minute (and our food served at the same time!). They made our time here a wonderful experience that we Will never forget!
