An Exceptional Luxury Stay in Dubrovnik
We stayed at Royal Blue Hotel Dubrovnik from August 10–14, 2026, and from the moment we arrived, it felt like a truly special holiday.
The location is exceptional. The stunning Adriatic views, beautiful surroundings and peaceful atmosphere create the perfect setting for a relaxing luxury getaway.
The breakfast buffet deserves a 10/10. There was an impressive selection of fresh, high-quality food, beautifully presented, with plenty of choices every morning. It was a wonderful way to start the day.
The staff and service were outstanding. Everyone was professional, warm and attentive, while still making the experience feel relaxed and welcoming. The level of service really stood out.
We also loved the seaside area, chairs and umbrellas. Being able to relax by the crystal-clear Adriatic, surrounded by such beautiful scenery, was one of the highlights of our stay.
The restaurants were excellent, with delicious food, beautiful settings and attentive service. Everything came together to create a very special dining experience.
Overall, Royal Blue is a beautiful hotel that offers the perfect combination of luxury, comfort, exceptional service and an unforgettable seaside setting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return.
A true 10/10 experience — highly recommended for anyone looking for a luxurious stay in Dubrovnik.
booked a room for my 40th birthday, and we paid €4,200 for four nights in the most expensive room. After driving 800 kilometers, we were hoping for a wonderful holiday, but instead we were met with a nightmare. I have stayed at this hotel before and know the hotel very well. When we were shown to our room, it turned out to be the lowest-category room, with no sea view, a small balcony, and a very small room. We went down to reception and complained that we had not been given the room we had booked. The staff were completely uninterested and told us, “If you don’t like it, you can find another hotel.” They have no professionalism and simply do not care about their guests or their feelings. It seems that money is the only thing that matters here, while everything else is secondary. Be careful and do not book this hotel directly through their website. When we complained, there were also guests from Italy next to us who had booked the hotel through Booking.com, and they had also been given a lower-category room. Their requests, however, were accommodated.
Loved this hotel. Beautiful scenery. Clean throughout. Staff are helpful and friendly.
The only moan is that you get one bottle of complimentary water when you arrive.
But we did buy some water from the mini bar and also boiled water in the kettle, let it cool and filled our bottles up when going out.
But I would definitely go back. The Sky Bar was great. Adults only and Infinity pool was great. Not once did we have to reserve sun beds. Plenty of loungers and comfortable seats available.
Breakfast stuff were also lovely and helpful. Room was cleaned every day. Absolutely great service.
We mostly ate in the nearby town Lapad as we loved the beautiful walk down to the town. But the choice of restaurants in the hotel complex was also fab. We ate in Bono Pizza place. That was great
We had a great 5 day stay. Thank you!
Fab holiday.
My wife and I stayed at the Royal Blue Hotel in Dubrovnik for three nights in August 2026 to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary.
Overall, our stay was positive. Dubrovnik is a beautiful location and the hotel itself was clean, well presented and, for the most part, provided the standard of experience we had hoped for.
Unfortunately, our experience at the Blue Sky Bar significantly detracted from our stay. Service was consistently slow and disorganised, with staff on more than one occasion appearing to forget that we had ordered drinks or food, resulting in lengthy waits.
There also seemed to be considerable confusion between “running a tab” and “putting drinks on the room”. On our first evening, we believed our drinks had been charged to our room, only for members of staff to come to our room after we had left the bar asking us to settle the bill. I would strongly recommend that guests are extremely clear with staff about how they intend to pay and, importantly, retain their receipts.
The issue arose again when we checked out. We believed we had settled our final drinks the previous evening, but were told that the bar still had items booked against our room. Given the poor record-keeping, the staff were unable to clearly explain what they believed remained outstanding. Following a discussion, we agreed to pay for a drink that, the evening before, we had understood had been offered “on the house”. We did so in good faith and left the hotel believing that we had reached an agreement with the staff and that our account was fully settled.
What has been particularly difficult to accept is that we discussed the issue with the hotel, agreed what was outstanding, paid the amount requested and left believing the matter was resolved — only to discover, after returning home and reviewing our credit card transactions, that the hotel had subsequently charged our card again.
That is what has really soured an otherwise enjoyable anniversary stay. Whatever administrative confusion existed behind the scenes, we had addressed it directly with the staff before leaving and acted on the agreement reached. To subsequently take a further payment from our card, without any discussion or explanation, feels particularly disappointing and undermines our confidence in the hotel.
Given the premium prices and the hotel’s five-star positioning, I would expect considerably better service, record-keeping and, above all, handling of a disputed account.
The resort itself has much to recommend it, but my advice to future guests would be to keep every receipt, be extremely clear about whether you are running a tab or charging items to your room, and carefully check your card transactions after leaving.
