Surrounded by ancient gardens of Mediterranean vegetation, the hotel enjoys a magnificent and quiet location on the coast of the Lapad peninsula, overlooking the port of Gruž. The beach is just a few meters away and the picturesque old town of Dubrovnik, is only 30 minutes away by bus. The airport is 45 minutes away by car. It combines old-world charm with contemporary interior design, creating a unique atmosphere of timeless elegance. The rooms are luxuriously decorated and equipped with convenient amenities for a pleasant stay. The hotel offers other excellent services and facilities, such as an outdoor pool, pool bar, lobby bar and a conference room. The gourmet restaurant will delight the most demanding palates. Without a doubt, the perfect place for a romantic getaway.
Fabulous hotel, very tricky lift section to get to 8th floor, mastered it in two days, But mucked up a few times. Lovely pool as temperatures were high 30s outside Bar made good coffee and cool beers. Very friendly staff, room very nice with view of harbour and balcony, very good breakfasts in restaurant.
Location of the hotel is very good and within reach of all of the amenities that you would expect . Rooms were good size and breakfast was satisfactory. However reception staff and restaurant staff don’t seem to very customer friendly and seem quite abrupt . Reception staff were poor with explaining trips and things to do nearby . Training I feel is a must and front of house requires improvement. Sun beds are limited and we did have to complain about pool staff who were unhelpful when questioned about sunbed availability. We did however get an apology after complaining. All in all it’s a budget 3 star hotel that is need of refurbishing but it does offer you a budget stay .
Home today from a comfortable stay at the hotel. We booked a ‘superior room’ but I’m not sure what was superior about it - dark with no balcony and a view of mostly a wall from the window. I also totally agree with other comments about the pool - at no time did we get access to sunbeds - we were doing our Dubrovnik sightseeing in the morning before it got too hot and a couple of hours by the pool would not have gone amiss but once a towel was in place, that was the day gone. So the option thereafter was look at four walls or go somewhere else to watch the day go by. I also agree about the staff - some were serving themselves coffee in front of guests at breakfast and, on a couple of occasions, a waiter took coffee cups that were half full and left plates that were finished. I’m done with the negatives - the positives are a great location and a beautiful building that was spotlessly clean - it could be so much better.
We had a fabulous week in Croatia in June 2026 in Hotel Lapad. This is such a lovely hotel, had everything we needed and it's in a lovely location just a 5 or 10 minute walk from the bus stop which takes you into the Old Town, the hotel itself is set back from the road was nice and quiet. Rooms a good size with a good shower, cleaned every day and fresh towels. We had half board (first time for us as usually we eat out in the evenings), we thought we would try it one night and if it's not good, we wouldn't go back. However, we ate in the hotel the whole week, the food was really good, and a great choice, which changed every evening, there really was something for all tastes. Entertainment some evenings which was also good, there was a fabulous band one evening singing all the well known tunes, they were great, can't remember the name though! Staff were all very welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Pool area nice and clean. We had twin rooms 312 and 313 which have a side sea view and are nice and private. Room 313 has lovely big balcony. I would definitely recommend staying here, very good value for money, and we would definitely stay here again. Thank you all for a wonderful stay.
Just returned from this hotel after a 5 night break for first time in Croatia. Hotel is around 30 minutes from the airport, easy check in room was available from 1pm, we had a room on 5th floor with a balcony, we were only overlooking a garden but that's fine as we were not in the room much anyway. Was was clean and tidy, plenty of space, room had a safe and fridge too, Bathroom clean and tidy with a bath, shower was fine, not the most powerful shower but enough to shower.
Hotel is beautiful, reception team very helpful. We stayed half board, breakfast is fab loads to choose from, evening meal is great too, not loads but plenty to choose from. The only downside is you need to pay for drinks, even water, i felt this should have been complementary for a water with an evening meal . Drinks in hotel were quite expensive but that's just the norm in a hotel, there is a shop literally 5 mins up the road go buy your alcohol/soft drinks from there.
Pool area was lovely, no enough sun beds though but you can always find a space somewhere around the back in the garden.
In the evenings they did have bands/singers, they don't have seating outside only inside the bar which has open windows, so I did think that was a bit strange the singers outside and everyone sitting inside. There are loads of a local bars/restaurants around and 5-10 min walk to the main area where there are hundreds of bars and restaurants and its lovely there - there is an alleyway about 2 mins along from the hotel which takes a short cut up to the main area where you can get to the beach, catch buses etc.
Old Town is lovely very hot though, we used the local bus no 6 which you can catch in main bus terminal up the road, 1.75 euro for the bus - its 20 euro in a taxi so get a bus they come every few minutes and so easy loads to do down there
We done a few trips, 3 islands which is nice and the boat you catch for that is just across the road in the marina. We also did Lokrum island from the Old Town 30 euros each but is a lovely place to visit and swim.
Croatia is a lovley place would advise anyone to go
