Good hotel, terrific location
Good hotel, terrific location. This is a warm, welcoming hotel close to a lot of great local amenities (beach, shopping, promenade, restaurants). The reception staff were very friendly and very helpful. The room was a good size, clean and modern, with lots of storage and places to put things. The beds were very comfortable, and the air conditioning worked really well, which was important during the very hot and humid days we stayed there.
The bathroom and shower were really good - a good strong shower and nice bath products to use. Lots of lovely clean towels.
The breakfast was very good - a lot of choice and a lot of it. The outdoor patio for breakfast was very nice, but be aware that it's beside a main roadway so traffic noise may be an issue at times. If it's too noisy, there's lots of space inside the restaurant to eat :-)
There's a cozy lounge for happy hour and drinks.
The hotel is a very short walk to a bus stop that takes you to the old town.
A beautiful pebble beach is right across the street from the hotel; swimming there is lovely.
There's a gorgeous promenade that starts a short distance from the hotel and winds along the coast, with lots of restaurants for food and drinks and stairways down to the water for swimming access. The views from the promenade are stunning.

Excellent location, great hospitality, clean hotel, comfortable beds great value for money.
Excellent location, close to local bars and restaurants and local bus service to the old city. The hotel is very clean, and the beds are very comfortable. The menu is varied and tasty, you won’t go hungry even if there is something you don’t like.
The housekeeper was excellent at her job she always had a smile and passed the time of day.
Hospitality was excellent especially Muriel in the restaurant was always looking to ensure tables were cleared of dirty crockery and had a ready smile.
Second to none was Zoran the barman, a very friendly guy who put a smile on everyone’s face. Always willing to help and with excellent customer service he’s a valuable asset to the hotel.
Hardworking staff in the restaurant were always willing to help which helped make our holiday special thank you guys!
Would recommend this hotel for value for money.
We were housed in the annex which did not have a lift but a little exercise is good for the heart.
One criticism would be the sun beds they are a little uncomfortable and could do with updating.
Horrible!
Traveled to Croatia with a friend for a cycling tour. We booked Hotel Komodor in Dubrovnik for a 1-night stay b/f our return flights home. The reception was busy understaffed and we were bruskly treated. The beach is not as easily accessible as the website leads one to believe. Having reserved a double twin room, we were given a single room that was devoid of outlets, possessed a filthy, stained carpet and a broken down bed with a terrible mattress. We asked to be moved to a double-twin room and were told there was nothing available. The room was so bad that my friend refused to stay and immediately booked a room elsewhere. I reluctantly stayed on b/c 2 other friends had booked there b/c we had done so and I felt responsible if their stay was equally as bad. The shower drain was clogged. No vent in the bathroom. This hotel was straight out of what I experienced having visited Soviet era Russia some 40- ish years ago.

Do not recommend
First night I got here I had what looked like a cake thrown at my door and was still smeared down my door the next morning and the cleaner was just stood there starting at my door my door laughing I asked her politely to clean it and they told me to not be lazy and clean it myself, considering they’re the cleaner I thought that was really unprofessional.
The menu was ridiculous all their was to offer was potatoes, potatoes and more potatoes with some what tasted like gluten free pasta I don’t think the chef got their MVQ.
One night I was heading downstairs for dinner and the majority of people having what looked like a food fight probably because it’s the same bloody menu every night not just that I went to sit down at my table and someone had left their dirty cutlery for me to use.

We had a lovely week based at hotel komodor, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the food was fantastic and traditional! Good atmosphere 👌 we made a good friend in Zoran he was so funny and happy all the time, we have some fantastic memories to take with us. Thank you hotel komodor
