Quietly situated in the picturesque Lapad Bay and overlooking the azure Adriatic Sea, this luxurious hotel enjoys one of the best positions in Dubrovnik. The city centre with its historical and cultural sights is less than 4 km away and three bus routes take guests within a 10-minute ride to the old town. The airport is at 23 km from the hotel. All guest rooms have modern amenities for a pleasant stay, and most of them include a balcony with stunning sea views. Guests might enjoy the varied dining offer at the hotel, which includes a restaurant and a lounge bar, apart from two chic bars where guests can admire the breath-taking views with a cocktail or a glass of fine wine. Guests can also relax at a wonderful wellness and spa centre with an indoor and an outdoor pool.
Beautiful hotel situated right on Sunset Beach. Reception on the 10th floor and the views are stunning. Hotel smells amazing and the vibe is chilled elegance. Rooms all facing the beach and balconies in the sun all day, however not all have sea views, so if this is important to you book a sea view room. Twin bed rooms are spacious and well equipped with tea/coffee facilities, mini fridge and safe. Some hangers (never enough). TV is rubbish, only a couple of English channels and very old programmes on it. Towels changed daily and turn down service with chocs left every night. All staff are friendly and helpful . Pool bar great nice food and great drinks - David and team lovely. Always able to get a sunbed no matter what time. Pool small, but sufficient. Breakfast buffet lovely, lots of choice. Area seems up and coming, legal dispute about sunset beach has left it in slight disrepair with lots of empty shops, but beach lovely , stones so need swim shoes. Nice walks either side of beach with lots of areas to swim. Lapad could have so much more, some nice restaurants but not many shops for a wander at night. Uber very efficient for trips into Dubrovnik or bus stop very nearby. Great hotel in great location
My wife & I stayed in Hotel Kompas for the 3rd time in 3 years and again it was great ! From the moment we arrived until we left we had no complaints or disappointments. Stunning hotel and location with great staff & service. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice, great lunch at pool bar, charismatic staff at pool bar, plenty of sunbeds, other guests were all pleasant and respectful of each other. Room service was top class and rooms with sea view are simply stunning. Perfect location with plenty of nearby restaurants and old town only 10 mins away. Restaurant Madonna and Peppers were great nearby restaurants. We will always return to Hotel Kompas !
First class hotel, super friendly & helpful staff. Wonderful room with lovely comfortable bed. Spotlessly clean. Great breakfast, fantastic entertainment in the evenings. Brilliant location, next to sea & minutes walk from restraunts, shops etc We enjoyed our week here, highly recommend this hotel.
We have just returned from a wonderful week at this beautiful hotel. From the moment you walk through the entrance into the stunning reception, gorgeous views and delicious aroma you are captivated by Dubrovniks beuty. Directly opposite Sunset beach with its miles of Promenade to walk in either direction you are minutes away from shops , bars ,restaurants, supermarkets and delicious ice cream parlors. We went half board and the food delicious, breakfast has everything The evening buffet was a little less to our taste but again good quality. I would have loved some cream or ice cream to make the lovely deserts a little less dry. Food and drink is expensive in dubrovnik ....actually most things are expensive in dubrovnik. There are a couple of supermarkets close by and these are a lot more reasonable. The hotel tap water is safe to drink so take your own cup or bottle and fill up, the bar charges over 5 euros a bottle . Beach shoes are a must if you want swim from the beach or rocks , the sand moves under your feet and the rocks are very slippery. You can buy them everywhere .However the hotel has two very lovely pools, one outdoor really refreshing after beutifull walks along the coast and a heated indoor one But swimming of the rocks in the warm blue sea will be a memory l will cherish.along with the stunning sunsets on sunset beach ! Getting about is easy, there are buses and taxi at the end of the Promenade Dubrovnik old town is half an hour away 2 euros each way. The city is again spectacular and worth the visit. The dubrovnik pass allows you to use buses, walk the wall and enter so many museums and galleries. There are kiosks everywhere selling trips ,we did the 3 Islands and it was a great day , We will definitely return to Croatia there is so much to see and it really is heaven on earth. There are many lovely hotels in laplad but l believe we made the best choice with Hotel Kompass , the position is perfect. Every member of the hotel team was lovely. However lara the resteraunt manager who was always smiling, enjoy curling up and watching Harry Potter.
Lovely hotel, really clean great views, fantastic cocktails on the rooftop bar, breakfast excellent as where the pool side snacks, air con in the room was good, bathroom door was broke is the only fault really.
