Amazing and breathtaking views - your vacation starts in the lobby just by embracing the panoramic view! The hotel team is very well trained and will give you hospitality at its best. The breakfast buffet is absolute outstanding fresh smoothies, lots of different bread, three different stations where you can get all konds of egg dishes freshly prepared just for you - from vegan to fish or the good old beans and bacon breakfast - you can have it all. The Beach service is great as well and very friendly. There is nothing negative about this hotel, only be prepared to use the elevator to get to the beach, which might cause you some waiting time during rush hour. But the great view is granted day and night the water is clean and lots of sport activities available as well as an amazing kids entertainment program.
The staff are lovely, the lobby and cocktails are both 5*, the breakfast buffet varied but that’s it. This is NOT a 5* hotel. The promotional video makes it look like a place for adults only, quiet and serene. It is not. The beach was heaving by mid-morning and very noisy. In the rooms, the linen was scratchy, the towels thin. Nothing 5* anywhere. There were sun loungers by the pool with stuffing coming out. Rooms with tatty decor in places and generally quite small (although the bathroom size is fine.) The sea-view balcony is 50% grassy verge… it was all so disappointing. We ordered room service one night consisting of three sides. They came 90 mins later, the order was wrong and the food cold. The waitress was lovely but run off her feet- it was only her for 272 rooms! I emailed the hotel several times before I booked as I had some nights solo and some with family but got replies days later that weren’t helpful. And for around 350 euros per night! I was expecting a LOT more for all that money. I was so disappointed.
Location is stunning. V level room was spacious. V level sun loungers on beach made the holiday. Always availability despite the usual issue of people ‘reserving’ sun beds but then not appearing until the afternoon. V level lounge not as well stocked as other hotels we’ve been to plus it’s tucked away on the 4th floor. V level breakfast was good. Staff were attentive and friendly. Had a couple of housekeeping issues which were rectified quickly. Only a 15 minute bus ride to Old Town and the bus stop is right outside the hotel. Two minute walk to promenade to Lapad.
My stay at the Dubrovnik President Valamar Collection Hotel was truly wonderful! From the first moment we felt at home, and that is because of the amazing people who work here. First and foremost, I want to give the biggest praise to the manager Danijel. He is an exceptionally kind, warm and professional person, always present for the guests and ready to help with everything. You can truly feel that he leads the hotel with a lot of heart and that he genuinely cares that every guest feels special. And a very special, heartfelt praise to Bruna from the reception. She is a wonderful soul! So warm, kind, smiling and patient, always ready to help and explain everything with so much kindness. She is the kind of person who makes your whole stay more beautiful from the moment you arrive. She really made a difference for us and deserves the highest praise! Also Gavrilo at the bar - always cheerful, smiling and extremely helpful, he really makes your day better. Fadila and Sasa in the restaurant - excellent, kind and warm, every compliment to them! And Julijana and Doris from the Maro Club playroom - everything was always spotlessly clean and tidy, you can see they work with a lot of love and children truly enjoy being with them. Our room was very beautiful and tidy, and the whole hotel is exceptionally clean and well maintained. I was especially delighted by the flowers, the hotel and the surroundings are full of beautiful flowers and greenery, you can see everything is cared for with love. I mentioned just a few names, but my praise goes to everyone I could not remember by name. They were all wonderful to us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we will definitely come back!
We were so looking forward to this trip and for the most part it’s been great but the hotel has been very average. Firstly we arrived around 10.30pm, around an hour or so after we were supposed to arrive due to our flight being delayed. We’ve noticed a lot of other people checking in and they’ve received welcome drinks (we did not) this may be because of the time but it’s a little detail. Then our initial room was 4027, given the time, we literally checked in, dumped our bags, grabbed food and went to bed. In the morning, we were so disappointed! The room was so shabby and falling apart. We discussed this with reception and were moved to 2009, a far nicer room but still very dated. One thing that was annoying, every other “5*” hotel we’ve stayed in provide new bottles of water daily. Again, it’s little touches. Breakfast in the hotel is very nice, the self serve mimosa’s are a nice touch. The pool area has been quite nice, quiet and always a few beds for us (family of 3), beach is packed but it serves a number of other hotels so to be expected. The area around the hotel is nice, great walk into Lapad via the coastal path. We arranged a late checkout (12pm) but at 7.30 this morning, housekeeping were knocking on the door, they apologised and thought we’d left. Then again, 9.30 or so, housekeeping knocking on the door. I again, explained we had a late checkout. When we finally did check out, there was no “how was your stay etc”. To be honest, we stayed in the Palace (another hotel in Lapad) 2 years ago, this was a far superior hotel, stay there if you’re coming. Just to finish, the staff have been very friendly, it’s very clean and great location. Just let down by the overall age of the hotel.
