This hotel is set on a 30m-high cliff on Miramare Bay, boasting some of the most spectacular panoramas of the Dalmatian coast. It is just a 15-minute walk down to Dubrovnik Old Town - UNESCO's World Heritage. Dubrovnik Airport is 22 km from the property. This complex offers 91 rooms, individually designed to provide pampering home-away-from-home comfort. Each room comes equipped with air-conditioning, flat-screen TV, safe and en-suite bathroom with hairdryer and toiletries. The hotel features a mini gym looking out onto an indoor swimming pool as well as wellness and spa centre with spectacular views over the cobalt-blue sea. Guests can also go down to the bottom of the cliff to lie back on a pebble beach and soak up the hot Mediterranean sun.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
This hotel is exceptional. Everything about it is wonderful. The excellent breakfast is served by the friendliest staff on a breathtaking terrace overlooking the clear, pure water. The food is exceptional.
At night, the bar is staffed by similarly friendly and helpful staff.
The reception staff are lovely, so helpful. One managed to locate our lost bag in a taxi within minutes!
The room is beautiful and our view was absolutely outstanding, looking down onto the stunning little beach.
For our anniversary, we had some lovely special touches that I will never forget - thank you so much Hotel Bellevue!
The swimming pool is beautifully clean and peaceful, with towels provided and open to guests for free. It was never over full in May.
It is an easy walk down to the old town via a lovely road, here you will smell the beautiful trees of Croatia as you walk. You can walk back up, take a bus or a taxi.
If you are going on a day trip, tell reception and they will make you up a lovely breakfast box if you are leaving before breakfast (as we did when we went to Montenegro).
Absolutely a five star hotel with a million star service, I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Croatia has my heart and Bellevue is very much a part of that.
We stayed at the Bellevue for one week booked via Jet2. It is in a very good location - close to the old town but also far enough away from all the crowds. It is around a 10 minute walk downhill into town and uphill (or €8 in an uber) on the way back.
Our room had a lovely sea view over a private cove and was well appointed.
The breakfast terrace and food selection was excellent and it was a nice place to relax in an evening.
The staff were all very courteous and keen to help. The Bellevue is a very good hotel. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!
My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Bellevue Dubrovnik June 12- 14 for the equivalent of $880 per night. The rooms were a joke. We were given a room that had an extreme dormer-ed roof. I hit my head on the wall/ceiling walking in. There were two small windows looking up if you timed it right at night you might’ve seen Starlink go by. Personally, I preferred to see the Adriatic Sea. I asked the manager for a different room. He smiled and gave us room 418, from which all you see is a rock wall. I don’t mean mostly rock wall and a little sea, I mean a rock wall. I took many pictures if there is anyway I can upload them to this website please let me know so everyone can objectively measure my comments and then have a good laugh.
They claim to have a private beach, from what I saw, I’m highly confident it was very much a public beach. We booked this November 9, 2025 through the Hyatt website under their Mr. & Mrs. Smith brand. They claimed possible room upgrades, etc. If this is their idea of an upgrade, I definitely don’t want their help anymore.
Fun irony- Bellevue translates from French to: ‘Beautiful View’. Well I have to admit as far as rocks go it was above average. But I will never stay here again or use Mr. & Mrs Smith.
On the positive side, other than the manager giving me two horrible rooms the rest of the people working there were incredibly nice and helpful.
What first strikes you about Hotel Bellevue (a Small Luxury Hotel) is its striking post-war architecture—a style from an era when Croatia was just starting to soar into the European tourism giant it is today.
However, when you are paying roughly €1,000+ a night, the real question isn't about the architecture; it’s about value for money. Unfortunately, for our stay, the value just wasn't there. (Note: I didn't raise these points with the staff during our stay, as most of our issues were systemic and not things the front desk could easily fix on the spot.)
Here is a breakdown of our experience:

Final Verdict In my opinion, Hotel Bellevue falls short of a true 5-star commitment when it comes to approach, room quality, food, and staff training. It feels much more like a proper, well-located 3-star property. As a general rule of thumb—and as you’ll see in my next review—hotels that feel the need to loudly advertise their five-star status right on the front door often struggle to live up to it.
Having spent some time researching options for Dubrovnik we selected this hotel and suggest you do too. Marvellous location a 12 min walk or 5 min bus from the old city. Our room was exceptional - as was the suite we enjoyed for our last nights. The facilities are excellent although given the lovely weather and various things we had planned we didn’t get to try the spa (we might try next time!). The breakfast is superb as is the view from the terrace. The beach area is great fun - especially watching kids cliff jumping!! The main restaurant is wonderful. Every dish was tremendous as was the wine. However the differentiating factor is the staff. Without exception they were friendly, accommodating and could not do enough to make ones visit a pleasure. We travel a lot and have had no hesitation recommending to friends and family.
