- Radisson Blu Resort and Spa

The Radisson Blu Resort Split is a fantastic hotel which enjoys a breathtaking situation overlooking the wonderful Adriatic Sea and the Dalmatian Islands. The historic centre of Split is approximately 3 km from the hotel, where guests will be able to find shops, restaurants, bars, and public transport links. The hotel boasts beautifully decorated rooms with modern and trendy furniture. This hotel offers a way to combine a place of recreation along the ocean with the convenience of a modern hotel, ideal for business or leisure travelers alike.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Stayed here with the family in two rooms with an assumption that it's on the beach. Start wasn't great with the issue in one room. Following a complaint , the manager resolved it. The best things about this hotel is its staff. Very friendly and professional. Great breakfast buffet. Great spa facilities and easy to get to old town by taxi or hotel shuttle
Beware
*The beach is almost 140 steps walk down from the hotel.
*The beach club associated with the hotel is expensive for food and sun lounges . Try beach clubs further along. Cheaper and better choice
*The area allocated for the hotel residences for free sun loungers are not monitored and anyone can come and sit. Hard to find a chair
*We found the hotel was full to capacity and hence few things needed reminding many times before getting actioned or not at all actioned
not sure of 5 The hotel has two sections - premium rooms which are newer and refurbished. Superior rooms are dated and need some uplift.
Our server was amazing- Luka G. He was awesome. The reason this wasn’t a five out of five was there wasn’t enough meat for a BBQ and we had to keep waiting for the steak.
Very mixed experience, but wouldn’t recommend.
Main problem is a big disconnect between the promise and the reality.
On the plus side, it has some great aspects. Amazing breakfast buffet, great bar, wonderful spa with a huge gym and a pretty chilled pool area. Mistral beach club (when you get there) is nice as well. Staff are also friendly and helpful
There are two big negatives though
Firstly, location and surrounds.
Although it has sea views and all the photos in its gallery suggest it's on the sea (including having a beach club), it's not. To get to the Mistral Beach Club, it's a 200m walk outside of the hotel, down several big flights of stairs and across some pretty scruffy public shrubland. On the way back from dinner one evening, there was a guy using part of the space as his own personal toilet. Not to say it's not safe, it felt fine, but it's not quite the glamorous stroll to the beach club and if you're elderly or infirm, it would be very difficult to get down and back. They should be explicit about this. The hotel know this... they've even got a sign half way saying "it gets better in 100m", which it does. But you need to get there first
Also, it does have views of the sea for sure, and they're beautiful. However, looking out to the right from the breakfast and pool deck there's a big abandoned apartment/ hotel project which is half built and covered in graffiti. So if you're sat by the pool or bar, you face one way and you're looking at sparkling sea. Look the other and you're staring at a huge, derelict building. That's not so lovely. There's also construction on the other side as well (although they do flag this on their website). Out front ain't so pretty either, City View meaning a long horizon of tower blocks and roads... which looks very different to the picture on the website of a view from that room of trees and mountains.
Secondly, the rooms. These aren't 5 star rooms, more 3 to 4 star. They're clean and nice enough but pretty basic, think more upscale Premier Inn vs. luxury hotel. The bathrooms are quite dated, fittings are molded formica, shower is hand held. Small point, but one of the electrical sockets fell off the wall while we were there. We asked reception to fix it a couple of times but nothing happened - not a big thing, didn't affect our stay but felt like the sort of thing which shouldn't be happening and if it is should be fixed quickly.. The bedrooms are also bit cramped (well superior ones anyway).
I don't like leaving negative reviews, and we had a decent time here, we just all felt let down by what was delivered vs. what was promised.
My advice? Check traveller photos carefully before booking vs. hotel photos
Luka B. made our entire experience! We came for BBQ night at the hotel and it was delicious. Luka made sure we enjoyed and had some laughs along the way. Hvala, Luka!
Excellent food and wonderful service everyday. Everyone is willing to answer questions, rooms were always clean and we wanted to keep coming back to their “BBQ” night for our server Luka B, he was so caring and thoughtful and entertaining! What a gem!
