St Lucia, Caribbean
Soufriere

This is one of the Caribbean's most romantic resorts set amidst a 600 acre lush tropical estate with 2 soft sand beaches, 8000 feet of Caribbean coastline and breathtaking views of St. Lucia's twin Piton mountains rising out of the calm Caribbean Sea. This property has an unique rooms and tropical hardwood furniture have been personally designed by the architect owner, and all blend harmoniously with the environment and nature. Even the resort bathrobes are locally made and have become a popular souvenir item. 1 ½ miles north of the town of Soufriere, and near most of the island's major sightseeing attractions.

Modest rooms with upscale amenities and service

We just returned from a 6 night stay at Anse Chastanet. This trip was a dive trip with a few of us non divers tagging along. Our room, 15B, was an upgraded room with a view of the sea only. The building with rooms 15 are the first rooms above the Treehouse restaurant. Which means we could usually hear the kitchen from our room. Our room was spacious but dark due to it being all wood. There is suggestive artwork throughout which was interesting. The room is all open with no screens except for the bathroom window that overlooks into the living room/balcony. There is turndown service nightly where they ready your bed, the netting, and light a large mosquito coil. There are multiple ceiling fans and we had 2 standalone fans as well pointed toward the bed. The first night was loud with the noises from birds, frogs, insects, and lizards (did not know lizards make sounds like that). We found out earplugs are available which helped the remaining nights. The temperature without AC was bearable especially if you take a cool shower before bed. Mornings were enjoyed with coffee on our patio prior to breakfast with our group at 7am. Overall, the room was acceptable and bearable but I would not pick this room again due to lack of the best view and being above the restaurant.

Now let’s talk food, OMG so good! This is where this place stood out. Every meal was fantastic! Especially the desserts! Always get a dessert here. Especially since you will walk it off with the stairs and hill climbs. Also, there is a shuttle at all times available to get you up and down from the beach so don’t let the stairs deter you from this place. But if you have a mobility issue, this resort may not be the best option.

Non diver activities were great! I did the chocolate lab activity where I made my own chocolate bar and bon bons. So fun! This is done at Jade Mountain. Beach huts and lounges available for guests only (public beach) and non resort guests are quickly shooed away so plenty of chairs and space for all guests. No need to run down to save seats! The water is warm at 82 degrees and clearest water I’ve ever seen! Snorkeling right off the beach was fun with turtles and even a school of squid.

Would I come here again? Absolutely! Would I request an AC room on the beach? Absolutely!!

The Perfect Honeymoon

We had the absolute best honeymoon we could have imagined at Anse Chastanet. Our stay was for a week in mid-April, and the entire experience was so perfect.

For the room, we stayed in one of their premium hillside rooms (7C) which had GORGEOUS views of both the pitons to the left and the beach & sunset to the left. Our room had a large open air section with a table, couch area, and lounge chairs perfectly positioned to look over the views. The bedroom area for our suite was inside some louvered walls. No air conditioning, but so many fans inside the bedroom and out on the patio kept us at a comfortable temperature. We slept so well every night. The heat at night was something we worried about given how used we are to our very air conditioned home, but plan to wear light clothes to bed and you should be completely fine. The room is well appointed to anything you might need and well prepared to keep you cool and fend off mosquitoes. The housekeeping services were impeccable.

For activities, we did the total romance package which included a beginner scuba lesson, a half day sailing trip, a guided snorkel tour, jungle biking, a one hour massage, and trips outside the resort to the sulfur springs, mineral baths & botanical gardens, and the resort’s farm where they grow the food we eat. The resort scheduled these activities for us and we had one each day, they all were so well run and great experiences to explore the beauty of Saint Lucia. We spent most of our non-activity time down at the beach, where they have very comfortable cabanas set up for guests. In the morning we’d get down to the beach and pick one out, and they would lay out towels for us to use for the day. You can pick up snorkel gear anytime to go snorkel right off the beach (the reef is beautiful!!!) or take a kayak, paddleboard, or small sailboat out for a time. The service at the beach was excellent, there was always someone there to help you out for whatever you wanted to do, and the beach food and drinks were excellent.

I have a gluten allergy so food is always top of mind for me when I travel, and Anse Chastanet’s menus are all well labeled and I had so many options to choose from. The food was absolutely incredible, our favorites were the soups which surprised us and the plentiful very fresh fish.

Overall we could not have had a better honeymoon and highly recommend Anse Chastanet if your priority is a more boutique style, nature focused trip.

Pampering from start to finish

From our welcome at the airport, then the welcome cocktail at the resort to leaving gift we felt spoiled and totally relaxed all the time. Anse Chastanet is a very special resort. The customer service is exemplary. The AI plan is well worth it. We had full breakfast, cocktails on the beach, lunch, snacks, afternoon tea and 4 course amazing dinners avaiable to us. Way too much food for us, but we enjoyed some each day. Snorkelling on the beach was great! Saw a huge Loggerhead turtle lots of fish. The only Lionfish in sight were at our Lionfish dinner on the beach. Beach service included cool towels with essential oils, popsicles and general pampering. Such a relaxing trip.

Exceptional Staff & World-Class Snorkeling—A Absolute Paradise!

We just returned from an absolutely amazing time at Anse Chastanet, and it completely exceeded our expectations. The team here is truly the heart of the resort—every single staff member went completely above and beyond to make us feel welcome and pampered. Their unmatched hospitality, combined with the vibrant community vibe, even made it easy for us to connect and make some wonderful new friends during our stay. The snorkeling right off the beach was spectacular. Even with a bit of pesky seaweed drifting through, the marine life was incredible and offered some of the best underwater views we’ve ever experienced. To top it all off, every meal was fantastic, and the excursions we booked were well-organized and incredibly fun. If you are looking for a beautiful slice of paradise with exceptional service and a stunning house reef, look no further! Side note, beach side rooms don't have the views but they are the air conditioned rooms - just depends on what matters to you but we welcomed the AC on humid days

The Trip of a Lifetime - An Absolute Masterclass in Hospitality

If you are looking for somewhere truly special that delivers a genuine "wow" factor, look no further than Anse Chastanet. We chose this incredible resort for our honeymoon, and it turned out to be the trip of a lifetime. The resort itself is absolutely stunning, with beautifully finished rooms boasting extensive wood detailing and spectacular views. But what really sets this place apart is the people; the staff are so exceptionally warm and friendly that by the end of our stay, we genuinely regarded many of them as friends.

To give you an idea of just how magical this place is, we had originally planned a two-resort itinerary for our honeymoon: Anse Chastanet for the first week, followed by StolenTime in the North for the second. However, after just two nights at StolenTime, we decided to cut that stay short and head straight back "home" to Anse Chastanet. That little blip only served to highlight just how incomparable and special this resort truly is.

Because it was our honeymoon, we were treated to a spectacular free upgrade upon our first arrival. We were given a hillside Premium Suite with sweeping, dramatic views of the Pitons and the ocean. It was an open-air room with no exterior walls, making us feel completely immersed in the natural landscape. While there was no air conditioning, the natural ventilation and large, well-positioned fans kept us perfectly cool. When we returned for "Part 2" of our stay after our brief detour, the team upgraded us again - this time to a gorgeous Hillside Deluxe room overlooking the ocean, which included air conditioning.

The resort is famously hilly, which was great for getting our steps in, though anyone with mobility issues should note it can be challenging. That said, the resort shuttles are always readily available to drive you anywhere you need to go.

The beaches are impeccably kept, and we never had any trouble finding a sun lounger. The beach service is incredibly attentive, with staff regularly coming by to offer cooling towels, refreshing sprays, or to take food and drink orders. The food throughout our stay was delicious, the cocktails were marvellous, and the all-inclusive package covered almost everything we needed. A special mention must go to the pain au chocolats at breakfast, which use the resort's own chocolate and are genuinely some of the best we have ever had.

There is an abundance of things to see and do. The snorkelling right off the beach is good, there are great sailing activities available if you want to take to the water, and the diving - while an extra charge - is highly rewarding with so much marine life to see. The excursions are also fantastic. We did both the Saturday market walk and the plantation tour with Meno (aka "Father Nature"); he is an absolute legend, and the tours were both fascinating and deeply sobering. We also did the tree-to-bar chocolate tour with Daniel, whose incredible enthusiasm for his craft shone through from the farm right into the chocolate lab. In the evenings, the live music entertainment was brilliant, featuring high-quality performers who were wonderfully engaging.

Massive thanks must go to Isaac and the rest of the management team - Rajesh, Jenelle, and Monica - for running such an outstanding resort. Every single person was fantastic, but we would like to give a special shout-out to:

  • Guest Services: Florence, who was absolutely amazing

  • The Bar Team: Parker, Chloe, Melvyn, Alain, and Monica (also known as Anne-Marie, who was always dancing to the music at the Piton bar and could always be relied on to get everyone else dancing too)

  • The Service & Restaurant Team: Michaelina, Vanessa, Clare, Yahdira, Christina, and the wonderful ladies serving the food

  • The Beach & Snacks Team: Ricardo, Junior, Rawl, and Jacqueline

  • The Spa: Indira, who provides an absolutely world-class nail service

  • The Tours, Chocolate & Kitchen Team: Meno ("Father Nature"), Daniel, Chef Alan, Chef Manuel, and Martin

  • The Dive Centre: Bradley and the whole crew

Thank you to everyone at Anse Chastanet for the highly personal touches and for making us feel so incredibly welcome. The experience was amazing, and we will definitely be back!
