This is our second year vacationing at this property and we plan on returning. Great central location on the beach, near shops and nightlife. Tasty local food options as well as pizza, wings, etc. The staff is super friendly and always ready to help.
My daughter surprised me with this trip to celebrate two very special milestones: being five years cancer-free and experiencing my first St. Lucia Carnival. This was meant to be a once-in-a-lifetime celebration, making our experience at Bay Gardens Beach Resort & Spa even more disappointing.
From the beginning, we were misquoted by nearly $2,000, and for the approximately $4,200 we ultimately paid, we expected accommodations and service that reflected the price.
Instead, we were given a room that was in poor condition. The blankets had rips, the bed sheets had what appeared to be blood stains, the bathroom floor was dirty enough that I cleaned it myself, and the bathroom door was broken. The toilet ran continuously for nearly 24 hours. To make matters worse, the room phone did not work the first night, so we couldn't call the front desk to report the problem. After finally notifying staff, it still took two requests before maintenance came to fix the toilet.
I also felt that because we booked through a third-party travel site, we may have been assigned one of the least desirable rooms. I can't say for certain, but that was how it felt based on our experience.
Customer service was inconsistent. While a few employees were friendly and helpful, several others were rude and dismissive. When I requested a room change because of the condition of our room, I was told it would cost more money. After paying $4,200, I found that response unacceptable. Guests should not have to pay extra for a clean, safe, and functional room.
St. Lucia is absolutely beautiful, and Carnival was unforgettable. Unfortunately, the resort did not match the quality of the destination. I hope Bay Gardens Beach Resort & Spa improves its housekeeping, room maintenance, and customer service because guests paying premium prices deserve a much better experience.
Review of Bay Gardens Beach Resort & Spa
My daughter surprised me with this trip to celebrate two very special milestones: being five years cancer-free and experiencing my first St. Lucia Carnival. This was meant to be a once-in-a-lifetime celebration, which made our experience at Bay Gardens Beach Resort & Spa even more disappointing.

Instead, we were given a room that was in poor condition. The blankets had rips in them, the bed sheets had what appeared to be blood stains, the bathroom floor was dirty enough that I cleaned it myself, and the bathroom door was broken. The toilet also did not work properly, and I had to request repairs twice before the issue was addressed.
What made the experience even more frustrating was the customer service. While a few employees were friendly and welcoming, several others were rude, dismissive, and made us feel like our concerns were an inconvenience. When I requested a room change because of the condition of our room, I was told it would cost even more money. After paying $4,200 for our stay, I found that response unacceptable. Guests should not have to pay extra to receive a clean, safe, and fully functional room.
St. Lucia is a beautiful island, and Carnival was an unforgettable experience. Unfortunately, the resort did not live up to the occasion. This trip represented a celebration of life, resilience, and a major personal milestone. I expected Bay Gardens Beach Resort & Spa to help make those memories special, but instead, I left feeling disappointed by the condition of the accommodations and the level of customer service.
I sincerely hope the resort improves its housekeeping standards, updates its rooms, and provides better customer service training. At this price point, guests deserve a much better experience.
The staff at this resort are excellent. The resort itself, if updated, could be really great. The beach was wonderful. Breakfast at High Tide was fabulous.
A heartfelt thank you to the amazing team for making our stay so memorable!
From the warm welcome by Knishnal and Jaqui to the friendly conversations with Ian and the wonderful restaurant staff, every interaction made us feel genuinely valued. While I can't remember everyone's names, each person played a part in making our stay special through their kindness and outstanding hospitality.
If I could offer one suggestion, it would be to continue investing in your incredible team and to enhance the lunch and dinner menus with a greater variety of options and more flavourful dishes. The staff are one of the resort's greatest strengths, and a more diverse, well-seasoned dining experience would make an already wonderful stay even better.
Thank you for the beautiful memories—we look forward to visiting again!
