Royalton Saint Lucia An Autograph Collection Resort

My family booked and stayed in the Luxury Chairman two bedroom ocean front suite including the butler service and Diamond Status package. We have stayed at many Diamond Level resorts which most all included a butler and never had as many issues as we did with our room or service as we did in St. Lucia. I would have given a lower rated experience if it wasn't for one of our amazing butlers Reana. Arriving in our room we had multiple broken, not working issues that took 4 out of the 7 days we were staying there to resolve. Toilets that were broken, closets that would not slide open, electrical outlets not working (not to mention in this 3,000+ sq ft room-the only outlets they had were the 4 in each bedroom and 3 of them needed adapters if you're arriving from the U.S.), ants covering our patio and in our room to the point our suitcases and lounge chair were covered with them, shower amenities not being refilled after daily housekeeping and requesting several times to our personal butler, and just an all around lack of follow through on fixing anything in a timely manner or communication. We had two butlers taking care of us through text requests/messaging, when Reana was on shift, she made the point to come to our room, address the issues and make sure they got taken care of-the other days, we received messages of "noted" or "absolutely" yet no action was taken. We had several excursions and beach days planned with our children and made sure our butler was aware of in which these issues could have been resolved during those times, yet they always showed up in the evening when we were returning or getting ready for dinner/relaxing. We booked this resort because of the butler service and Diamond Club rating and quickly realized that not only do they not provide the items that are listed as included with the Diamond Butler Service, they don't even have them when we requested them. My husband and I felt that we had to constantly nag them to get the simplest of items, like toilets to be fixed or refilling the conditioner. After finally meeting with the manager nearing the end of our trip, she took two pages of notes, yet did nothing to accommodate our stay. We aren't picky or snobby, these were simple things that should have been a quick fix or have never existed to begin with and we left feeling like we were made to be "that family" and ignored.
The whole staff was extremely friendly and we enjoyed our excursions, but if you're looking for great service, higher ended ammenities and communication, this is not the resort for you.

We stayed at Royalton St. Lucia as a family and were very disappointed. Our rooms were dirty and the hotel overall feels poorly maintained. Service and food did not live up to the Royalton name. The pools were the one bright spot, and the entertainment was hit or miss. Unfortunately, we would not return or recommend it for families.
