DEFINITELY some major concerns during my family recent stay. While there were definitely some good points the multitude of negative events during our stay overshadowed it.
Royalton St.Lucia COMPLAINTS!!!!
No room cleaning until night before we were checking out Leak on faucet and then floor ruined make up bag and we had to use multiple towels on the sink and floor for several days of our stay before maintenance fixed it about 2 days prior to us leaving the resort.
No towel replacement or toilet paper unless we flagged the housekeeper down or had to call/talk to manager and visit front desk to get additional items. Rolling door room partition hazards resulting in the sliding door to fall off track due to no stopper.
DIRTY SHOWER AND TUB upon arrival and i had to get cleaning items to clean it properly myself. i do not go on vacation to have to clean and wash my own bathroom and change my own sheets. that defeats the purpose of a vacation.
Travel size toiletries left in shower from previous guest upon our arrival.
Had to change our own sheets one night as no one changed them then they just gave us two flat sheets to do it ourself.
Food overall sub par for hotel cost and i should not have to make a reservation to eat at all the restaurants. the breakfast and dinner buffet have much room for improvement. we never went for lunch as didn’t want to waste our mid day time eating sub par food.
We had a family group of 26 people all experienced similar concerns during the stay.
Good things!!
Nexus tour reps on site Heidi and Adeola were so friendly and welcoming
Friendly buffet staff
GENEVIEVE MANAGER was very understanding and apologetic but she was about the only one that got things moving in a better direction for us.
4. Hotel grounds (EXTERNAL) is nicely maintained and the pools and beach were GREAT! if the property service matched the outdoor ambiance it would be worth another visit but i cannot wth good conscious refer anyone to stay here and feel that our disservice is worth some kind of refund, which as of August 1st we have not received any feedback on since our stay in mid July.
5. Kids splash pad and playground were very nice and appreciated.
The resort is 90 minutes from the airport. The food was ok, nothing special. The service at the restaurants was slow. Please be advised to make reservations for all restaurants even though they tell you that it is not necessary. The Italian restaurant was shut down, so there was only one place to eat for breakfast. The buffet offered the same food every day. No themes, nothing special. Service in every restaurant was piss poor and slow. The rate that I booked under Marriott somehow disappeared and the resort tried to charge me more. Fortunately I print everything and they were forced to honor my rate. The sports bar advertised a 12pm opening but they didn’t actually open until 4pm. The food truck constantly ran out of food. No other options for lunch except the food truck or the buffet. No butler was assigned to us and that made our stay even more miserable. The room service had a 1-2 hour wait. The buildings needed minor repairs. Our elevator stayed broken the entire 7 days. The main escalator down stayed broken the entire 7 days. The pools were great. The beach was wonderful. The view was exceptional. I would not recommend this resort to anyone.
Reserved king size bed and never got it. Tv did not work for three days. Beach was small and unattractive or inviting. Son’s room and building went without A/C for 4 days and still waiting management to address issue. Kept cancelling dinner reservations or changing times. Other son had toilet water from room above. Only positive is that I, and not many others, had great butler service through Monique and Jessie.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience because no guest should be treated the way my family and I were at Royalton Saint Lucia.
We traveled from the United States with a group of 27 family members to celebrate my aunt’s 60th birthday, a trip that had been planned for months. We chose Royalton because we expected luxury accommodations and exceptional hospitality. Unfortunately, while the property itself is beautiful, the customer service completely overshadowed what should have been an unforgettable family vacation.
Before arriving, our travel agent made an honest mistake and booked one of our reservations for the wrong dates. As soon as we landed and realized the error, we immediately contacted the resort and explained the situation. We arrived at the hotel in good faith, hoping the staff would work with us to find a reasonable solution.
Instead, we were told we would have to pay for an entirely new room while also losing the original reservation because it was marked as a no-show. While I understand that hotels have policies, hospitality should also include compassion and common sense. We were standing in the lobby, ready to resolve the issue, yet there was no willingness to help or offer any flexibility.
The most disappointing part of this experience was the way we were treated. Assistant Manager Kenya was rude, dismissive, and made us feel like we were a burden rather than paying guests. There was no empathy, no effort to understand our situation, and no genuine attempt to find a solution. Every interaction left us feeling more frustrated and ignored.
To make matters worse, I escalated my concerns directly to Royalton Corporate while we were still staying at the resort. I explained everything in detail and requested immediate assistance so our vacation could be salvaged. No one responded. I sent a follow-up email and still received no acknowledgment. It is incredibly disappointing that a company promoting luxury service would ignore a guest asking for help while still on the property.
This situation consumed hours of what should have been quality time with my family celebrating a milestone birthday. Instead of relaxing and making memories, we spent our vacation trying to resolve an issue that was handled with little professionalism or care.
The resort itself is attractive, and many of the hardworking employees deserve recognition. However, a luxury vacation is about more than beautiful pools and beaches. It is about how guests are treated when something goes wrong. In our case, the customer service failed at every level.
I hope Royalton takes this feedback seriously, reviews how this situation was handled, and provides additional training for management on customer care and conflict resolution. No guest celebrating a special occasion should leave feeling ignored, dismissed, and taken advantage of.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Royalton Saint Lucia. I sincerely hope future guests receive the level of service that we did not.
GREAT EXPERIENCE! Go see Bernell on the VibeTeam, and Jefferson at the Chill Bar . You won't regret it !!!
