The hotel is located to the north-west of Choc Bay Beach, close to entertainment venues and a few kilometres from the airport. The sandy beach has a silvery white colour, with exquisite natural beauty. Castries is about 10-15 minutes away.
The resort was refurbished in 2010, is surrounded by tropical gardens with a quiet bay. The 169-room property features a currency exchange service, bars, a disco, laundry service and medical service. Other facilities at this air-conditioned establishment include a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out services, a hotel safe, hairdressing salon, a restaurant and wireless Internet access.
The hotel rooms have a private bathroom with a shower/bath and hairdryer, a satellite/cable TV, individually regulated air conditioning, an alarm clock radio, iron and ironing board, safe, telephone and Internet access. A king-size bed and balcony or terrace complete the amenities on offer.
The property has 2 fresh water pools and 1 dive pool, a poolside snack bar and a sun terrace with sun loungers and parasols. Aerobics, a gym, a hot tub, massage treatments and spa treatments are also available. Guests can go diving, windsurfing, sailing, canoeing or pedal boating, or enjoy a game of tennis, table tennis, pool/snooker, beach volleyball or bocce. An entertainment programme for adults is also offered.
The hotel serves a breakfast buffet each morning, while lunch is buffet on all days and dinner are available à la carte. The hotel offers all-inclusive packages.

Perfect Wedding Getaway
We chose sandals Halcyon for our combination wedding and honeymoon and could not recommend it more. My wife and I were treated like royalty. Shandulla, the wedding manager, as well as her whole team, led by Techla and Elizabeth made sure everything we needed through the entire week was taken care of completely. Not only were all the wedding details absolutely perfect, they played a great part in making sure the rest of the week was amazing as well.
We had a couple issues with our first room upon arrival. A toilet was clogged, fridge was leaking, old glasses and ice bucket left un-turned from the previous guest. We made mention of this to the concierge and within an hour they had a new room lined up and ready, without us having to even ask.
Halcyon is a much more serene, slow, natural resort compared to the other two locations on St. Lucia, and that’s exactly what we were looking for. Food was good, views were exceptional, wedding was beautiful.
A great vacation well spent
My experience at Sandals Halcyon was great. My partner and I had great time there, the scenery was amazing and we had a laid back mini vacation.
We met some awesome staff members that were nice to us. Those of them that were friendly were a gem to meet, the smiles were genuine. I would like to thank the staff at the Bayside Restaurant which made our vacation a nice one. They were quite friendly and welcoming and were cheerful indeed. I would like to thank Marclyn a waitress there and all the others that I don't know their names.
We met a few warm hearted bartenders who were nice and very pleasant. I'd love to thank Josianne a bartender from Irie Bar who was exceptional to meet. Her service is awesome and always a pleasant smile and kind words to share with us.
We met some great staff members at the front desk also, kudos!
We visited Sandals Grand on our stay also and the staffs were sweet and wonderful as I remembered on my last visit there.
Thanks to Cijay at Josephine's ice cream, crepes and pizzeria, Sandy and Troyan who also were wonderful to meet. They made out visit an awesome one, we had fun.
The bartenders there were great as usual, and Neville was awesome as usual, a gem indeed.
The scenery at Sandals Halcyon was great like the last time we're went.
Some staff members were not so friendly but the ones that were friendly made our stay a great one.
The room that we were given was clean and very nice, it was attended to by the room attendants. It was very quiet and no one to disturb your tranquility. It was worth every penny I spent, the wifi was on point, the mini bar was great, the pools was wonderful to have a soak in and feel at peace. We played pools a lot so that was one place you could have found us lol. Soy restaurant was a delight, we enjoyed the octopus and sushi there it with and we have a delightful cocktail there, I can't remember it's name though lol. Kimonos restaurant was a delight also, the staff at Soy and Kimonos was pleasant and delightful to have met.
The people made our wedding and honeymoon unforgettable
We chose Sandals Halcyon Beach for our wedding and honeymoon, so this was always going to be a very important trip for us. Looking back, what stands out most is not just the resort itself, but the people who work there.
Halcyon has a really relaxed atmosphere. It never felt too big or impersonal, and over the course of our stay we got to know quite a few members of staff properly. That made a huge difference, especially as we were there for such a special occasion.
The wedding team were excellent. Shandulla and Techla looked after us brilliantly, and Elizabeth, Joel and Mickey all played a part in making the day run smoothly and feel genuinely personal rather than simply being another wedding going through the resort. We felt very well looked after from start to finish.
One person we will always remember is Madonna, who looked after our room. She was exceptional at her job and kept everything absolutely spotless, but it was her warmth and personality that really made her stand out. The fact she chose to come along to our wedding meant a great deal to us and says a lot about the kind of person she is.
Our wedding-night dinner on the beach was another highlight. Bernie looked after us that evening and did a fantastic job. He was attentive without constantly hovering, genuinely interesting to talk to and made the whole evening feel relaxed and special.
The photography team also deserve a mention. The pictures from the wedding were far better than we expected, to the point that our main problem was deciding which ones not to keep. We spent around three hours choosing them and the team somehow remained patient throughout the whole process.
There were also lots of smaller moments that made the stay memorable. Dolores at the beachside restaurant was one of them. Her smile and welcome every morning became part of our routine and she always made us feel genuinely pleased to see us.
Winifred was another person who really impressed us whenever we needed help or had questions. He was calm, professional and kind, and dealt with everything in a way that made us feel looked after rather than simply dealt with.
I also decided to complete my PADI Open Water qualification while we were there, and Shaggy was a brilliant instructor. He was patient, relaxed and gave me confidence throughout the course. Qualifying as a diver in St Lucia ended up becoming one of my favourite memories from the whole trip.
We also had reason during our stay to speak with senior management, and the way they responded really impressed us. They listened, took ownership of the situation and made a genuine effort to make sure the rest of our wedding and honeymoon was everything it should have been. That sort of response says a lot about a resort.
There are plenty of other people we could mention across the bars, restaurants, wedding team and housekeeping whose names we unfortunately did not catch. Overall, though, the service felt warm and personal rather than forced.
We came to Halcyon to get married, but we left with a much stronger attachment to the place than we expected.
For us, Sandals Halcyon Beach will always be where we got married, where I qualified as a diver, and where a lot of genuinely lovely people helped create memories we will keep for the rest of our lives.
We would absolutely return.
Good but seemed to be losing it’s edge
A lovely resort but seems to have lost its edge since we were last there. It was only a third full which meant a number of restaurants were closed some nights and a lot of maintenance was being done.
We were upgraded from the room we’d booked and didn’t find that out until we got there - not great after a long journey from the UK. Shouldn’t grumble about an upgrade but we’d specifically booked a poolside room to be near the pool.
We did get a room credit and a late check out in fairness but very few Brits that we spoke to got the room they’d booked.
The disappointment was around the staff. About half of them didn’t look like they wanted to be there - chatting amongst themselves behind the bar when people were waiting to be served and very few smiling on greeting. The most cheerful bunch were the gardeners and pool guys.
It’s the staff that make these high quality resorts - the food and drink quality is a given. Maybe Sandals no longer has the influence in St Lucia or maybe they weren’t getting the hours because it was under capacity. Either way I hope it doesn’t slide further.
TOP TIP - find the QR code for the GALE app. It’s far better booking restaurants and asking questions through that WhatsApp function than visiting the Concierge lounge. They seemed completely disinterested whenever we went in there.

A Wonderful Honeymoon at Sandals Halcyon – A Quiet, Quaint Paradise!
We had such a wonderful experience at Sandals Halcyon! We stayed here for our honeymoon and couldn’t have picked a better place. The resort has a quiet, quaint, intimate feel that makes it the perfect place to relax, unwind, and enjoy time together. It felt peaceful and welcoming rather than overly busy, which is exactly what we were looking for. The beautiful grounds, relaxing atmosphere, and friendly staff made our stay so special.
One person who truly stood out to us was Avelon! She was absolutely wonderful, so kind and welcoming, and we genuinely enjoyed getting to know her throughout our stay. She quickly became someone we looked forward to seeing, and we feel like we made a real friend while we were there. People like her are what make a vacation memorable, and we are so grateful we had the opportunity to meet her!
Overall, Sandals Halcyon was such a special place for us to celebrate our honeymoon. Between the peaceful resort atmosphere and the amazing people we met, we made memories we will always cherish. If you’re looking for a quieter, more intimate Sandals experience where you can truly relax and enjoy your time together, we would absolutely recommend Halcyon. We hope to return someday! ❤️
