The Riu Palace Tropical Bay All Inclusive is a family-friendly complex housed in Victorian-style buildings elegantly decorated, situated in the west coast of Jamaica. This beautiful and serene destination features crystalline waters and one of the best white-sand beaches on the island, the renowned Bloody Bay Beach. The West End of Negril lies at approximately 7.5 km from a bustling area with restaurants, bars and nightspots. The nearest shopping centre is located 6km away. This is a tropical state of mind, sea, and sand where guests will discover the pleasures of Jamaica.
Just returned from a two week stay at this great hotel, we are gold RIU members and were allocating a sea front room on arrival, great to sit on your balcony and watch the sun set in the evening this really made our holiday fantastic, We dined in all the à la carte restaurants during our stay but to be honest probably preferred the buffet which is excellent, If I had 1 small criticism it would be around tipping, on previous visits to the Caribbean we save our tipping and tip well at the end of our holiday for staff members who have stood out, I would advise visitors to tip small and frequently for better service here, particularly in the evening entertainment area where I was left without a drink on numerous occasions, whilst other tables who tipped a doller had drinks stacked up which were then wasted, Overall every other aspect of the holiday was brilliant and we would definitely return, I would just bring a massive stack of 1 dollar bills next time
I absolutely LOVE Tropical Bay. My family and I are repeat guests here. The beach- one of the best, and we travel a lot. Service is way above average. Buffet food is pretty decent and they vary quite a bit. Restaurants are hit or miss. We like the Steak House. The rest - nothing to write home about. Most importantly, you can get a really decent espresso in the morning (I'm a coffee snob) and plenty of drinks throughout the day. Special thanks to Julian , who really cares.
The garden view and the beach was the only nice thing 6k later, not kid friendly.
Our experience was fantastic as usual. Thanks to Shyma (sp) and her co-workers in her section of the buffet, as well as Michelle, who cooked great omelettes. Also a shout-out to our old buffet pals Damian, Derval and Twain. Special thanks to Michael at the front desk, as well as Julian, who was a great help. Kudos also to Leonardo and "The Big Guy" for keeping the grounds so clean. Also, can you help me remember the name of the beverage guy for 4216?...he's a super dude with a great personality, and he has a big laugh. Thanks again. See you next year.
We stayed mid August for 11 nights. Booked thru Tui, yet had private transfers and never used any Tui service. Found the hotel to be relaxed and a great location. We asked to move from block 1 due to road noise and were moved the following day to block 3. 99% of staff friendly, good fun, one or 2 were bit grumpy but never rude! We were on UK hours so found booking the à la cartes early am no issue, having said that we enjoyed the buffet the most. Plenty of option and the staff were so lovely. Lifeguards and pool bar staff were great. Sometimes we watched the entertainments other evenings we played cards in bar, and sometimes we walked to Negril Riu hotel and enjoyed their entertainment. We got the free bus provided by Margaritaville one morning and the Uber back at £4! Don’t listen to the taxi man in reception who funnily enough knew nothing about the bus that arrived everyday in front of him but could offer u a 40$ taxi!! We also did a half day out with the Scuba onsite company and was good fun. Beautiful beach, sea and sunshine.
