Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites

This was our second year visiting this property. Another AMAZING trip. Although the property is on the smaller side the people, activities, restaurants and overall vibe is one of the best. The Star friends - Vanessa and team are some of the best. They are very friendly and do their best to make every event fun for the guest. The pool is cleaned every morning, the gentleman that cleans the pool takes pride in his job, he cares. The shows in the evening are so much better than other Iberostar properties we’ve visited. Whoever handles show bookings kudos to you. The Steak and Lobster restaurant is one of the best restaurants hands down. The chef and the staff are simply the best. Every time we visit the restaurant the chef walks around and greets the guest. He is always interested in how the food taste and if there is anything he can do. This type of service is unlike any other steak restaurant on other Iberostar properties. The Star Prestige team is remarkable. Ann Marie is simply amazing!!!!! From the day we checked in until the minute we checked out she made sure our stay was exceptional. I have to mention Briana and Cedric. They were also great, always willing to assist with dinner reservations and wine selections. I would be remiss if I forgot to mention the young lady at the Star Prestige bar, she makes the best mango drinks 🍹 If you have not visited this property you should give it a try. Rose Hall Suites you’ve won me over!!!!

Just come home after 10 days at Selections and we had a brilliant time! Wanted to leave a review of our experiences whilst there. Our party was 4 people - 3 adults and a 15 year old.

Welcome: On arrival we were welcomed with a cold towel, a lovely fruit drink and looked after by Ricardo who was super friendly! Tattiyana the assistant manager also welcomed us and she kept checking in every time she saw us around the resort.

Room: The room was spacious and clean but ours was looking a little tired, particularly the bathroom. I expect they will be upgrading the rooms once Joia and Waves are up and running after their changes. We had a room overlooking the volleyball pool and we could also see the sea. The room was cleaned daily and the mini bar restocked. There was filtered water and ice available at the end of each corridor which was great for filling up our reusable bottles every day.

Food: The food choices were incredible! The buffet was themed every night, with plenty of choice! We also enjoyed the Italian, Steak and Teppinyaki restaurants. It was nice that you didnt have to prebook (except teppinyaki) and you could choose what you fancied each night. There is a 24 hour cafe just off reception which does drinks and snacks, the staff here were the only ones who seemed a bit unhappy and disinterested.

Entertainment: The daytime activities weren't really our thing, but there was always lots going on should you want to keep busy. The evening entertainment was a mixed bag, as we were there for 10 nights, it was repeated as it seems to be on a 7 day rotation, so the last 3 night was stuff we had already seen. We enjoyed the magic show and the motown night the most.

Bars: Each bar seemed to have its own menu, so take a look at the different drinks they offer. We used the pool bar in the day and the lobby bar in the evening. They dont provide straws, which made drinking frozen cocktails a bit tricky. I would take your own reusable straws of you like this kind of drink.

Beach: The beach was nice and we liked that it was close by and accessible. The water isn't crystal clear - you can get to knee depth before you get to seaweed, which we weren't a fan of. It can be a bit sharp/stony as you first get in but we just wore our water shoes. My son enjoyed the inflatable obstacle course.

Excursions: We used Ricky'Z Xquisite Travel & Tours for our airport transfers, Dunns River excursion and Chukka Outpost and he was Fantastic and he truly made our holiday! He was so friendly and tailored our trips and also helped us get to a pharmacy and supermarket. I will definitely use him again and recommend him to others! We also booked 2 trips with Dressel Divers, who are on site. We did the morning snorkelling catamaran cruise, there was only 4 people on the trip so we had a great experience. The guide showed us some interesting fish and animals living in the reef and then standing on the sand bar was fabulous! We also booked the Luminous Lagoon trip with them, but sadly it got cancelled twice. Once due to an issue with the boat and the second due to a storm. The trip only runs on Monday, Wednesday and Friday so we didn’t get another chance to rebook before we came home.

Spa: Two of us had massages in the spa, whilst they were lovely they were really expensive. I believe there are local massage places who are cheaper but I didn't find this out until the last day.

Watch Outs: The concierge are there to sell their club membership, my mum didnt realise this until she told me about going for a breakfast. It put her on edge abit as she didnt like to say no, but it's not something we would really use or benefit from. Just watch out for their tactics on arrival and firmly decline if you aren't interested.

Overall we really enjoyed the whole holiday and would come back here again!

I had a very disappointing experience during my stay. The level of customer service did not meet my expectations. Several employees were rude and unprofessional, which made me feel unwelcome throughout my visit.

The worst experience was at the bar. The bartenders seemed unwilling to provide basic service unless they received a tip first. It felt as though attentive service was dependent on tipping rather than treating all guests with courtesy and respect. This created an uncomfortable atmosphere and left a very negative impression.

Overall, I expected much better hospitality. Unfortunately, due to the poor customer service and unprofessional behavior of the staff, I would not recommend staying here or choose this hotel again.
