It took me a couple of weeks to recover :), but I had to stop by to write this review. This was one of the most amazing and enjoyable vacation ever. I’m originally from Jamaica, and when I visit for vacation, I usually stay in villas. I’m so happy I decided to give Iberostar Waves a try.
There are three different properties on site - Waves, Selection and Grand - we stayed at Waves. The location was perfect, about a 15 minutes drive from the airport. We were instantly met by the bellman, Troy, who assisted us with our luggage, then we were accompanied to the guest check-in desk and immediately received a warm welcome and an offer of refreshments from Latoya. Latoya checked us in expeditiously, we were assigned our concierge, the amazing Felecia, who attended to all of our needs, and we were given the most beautiful oceanfront room. The room was very clean, the atmosphere was very comfortable and relaxing; not to mention our view - breathtaking!
The property was well kept; very clean, well groomed, kids and adult friendly and inviting. There was always something to do; from swimming in your choice of two huge pools during the day/night, to strolling, sunbathing or taking a swim on the beach, or just grabbing a drink from the pool bar or the many pop up bars on the property, to the many activities and entertainment throughout the day/night, courtesy of KK, Sparkle and the rest of the team. KK, the kindest, most personable, hardest working girl I’ve ever met! You deserve the best in all things great!
The food was great; thanks to Chef Marcus and the team for ensuring we had the best of the best during our many dinner nights on the beach. Chef Marcus ensured he greeted everyone of the guests each night; and while greeting, made you feel like you were his only guest. This made the experience more appreciative and enjoyable. Thanks to Melissa for the great service and attention to details while we dined at Little River restaurant during Jamaica night, and for doing it with such grace and elegance.
A quick shout to Nova who gave us a tour of the premises; we appreciate the time you spent with us, your vast knowledge of the properties and making us feel welcomed.
Overall, it was very hard for us to leave, everything was perfect, we had an exceptional time and we can’t wait to visit and hang out with the crew again.
Forever grateful! Thank You! ♥️
Debora was an AMAZING diving instructor. She was super calm and reassuring. She answered every question, ensuring I succeeded at all diving skills and guided me to 3 memorable dives!
Rating: 5/5
I came to Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach with a broken ankle and a full cast, honestly expecting it to be awkward or stressful. It was the complete opposite.
From the moment we met Akeem at the front desk, the vibe was set. He’s a great guy and the energy was warm right from check-in.
Accessibility was a huge win: Everywhere that had stairs also had ramps or elevators, so I could get around on crutches without stress. The grounds are flat and easy to navigate, and staff were constantly passing by to check if we were okay and remind us to enjoy ourselves but be careful. Big up to the team at Little River I didn’t get all the names I’d like to mention but Kadeen and Jean-Pierre was awesome to us and they were so mindful about not making me stand or wait long for a table. That kind of thoughtfulness made the whole trip.
The resort itself is immaculate. I’m talking corridors, buildings, pool areas, and the entire beach — it was clean at all times. The amenities are up to par, food was top tier, and the servers were really nice and attentive. Wi-Fi gets a bit spotty down on the beach, but that did nothing to take away from the experience.
The only hiccup was one fair-skinned female server at the burger section on the beach who was rude two days in a row. Hoping it was just an off period for her, because everyone else was amazing.
Bottom line: I would 100% recommend Iberostar Waves to anyone, any age, any medical situation. My only regret is having to leave so soon.
There's so much I love about Iberostar Rose Hall Beach, but the thing I love most is the people.
Tanya from the Club, Jevan at the pool bar, everyone at the Jerk Hut... they are the heart of this resort. The people you meet on vacation truly make or break your experience, and over the years, the staff here have become like family. Every time we come back, it feels like coming home, and there's no better feeling than that.
This resort has been a special part of our lives. We even got married here and return as often as we can. We're Club members because we genuinely love this place. The food is consistently excellent, and that's one of the many reasons we've continued to choose Iberostar year after year.
That said, one thing has noticeably changed over the years: the entertainment team.
When Chocolate, Pineapple, Cookie, Romaine, and the rest of that crew were here, the entertainment was unforgettable. Their energy was contagious, they connected with guests effortlessly, and they created an atmosphere that made every day feel special. During our most recent visit, I couldn't help but miss that level of excitement and engagement.
I truly hope Iberostar, especially as the brand continues to evolve and go through changes, places a greater emphasis on employee retention. Guests don't just return because of the beautiful beach or the food. We come back because of the relationships we build with the people who make us feel welcome year after year.
Taking care of your staff is one of the best investments you can make because they'll continue taking exceptional care of your guests. That sense of familiarity and connection is what transforms a vacation destination into a place that feels like home.
We'll absolutely be back because this resort still holds a special place in our hearts. I just hope to see the entertainment program regain the energy and personality that made it so memorable. I'd truly be heartbroken if I ever had to replace a place that's meant so much to our family.
We had booked two adjacent rooms 4 months ahead of arrival with a specific request for an extra bed. We were assured of the same from emails we sent & received. On our day of arrival, we again made the request & that they were working on it. By the 4th call to the front desk after waiting for hours, we demanded to speak to a supervisor. We were informed that our request was never received. Eventually a bed was dispatched. One of our rooms had a non-working air conditioning. They kept on sending repair people. It was the the 3rd repair person on the 2nd day of our stay who whispered that they had a system issue prior to our arrival. We called the front desk, and no one could answer why that room was still rented. They did offer to swap rooms. The greenery around the grounds were overgrown and poorly manicured. The staff were pleasant and friendly The food was delicious & had a wide variety Overall, the cost of our stay compared to the ambience & quality of service led to this poor rating
