Adrian and Jason and the entertainment crew are great, high energy. The resort is nice, food is what you expect from an all inclusive. Elevators can be a bit slow at times.
adrian is amazing the best entertainment staff
I went to moon palace Ocho Rios and I spent most of my evenings in the teen lounge with my cousins and friends. The staff, especially Javeni Zalika Amanda Shanelle made my trip better. Zalika and Amanda were very kind and polite and made me feel welcome by greeting me on entry and helping whenever there was an issue like an ice hockey table not working or a controller being disconnected. Javeni and Shanelle joined in with me and my friends when playing games and even let me join a table tennis tournament even when I came late which I greatly appreciated. They're both very funny and lively people. Aside from the teens club I spent some time at the beach and pools. The pool parties were fun and had lots of dancing and the beach activities were fun particularly the football and volleyball which went on for hours on end. Overall there was never a dull moment and I really enjoyed this hotel and I would greatly recommend for families with teens.
Our stay at moon palace was amazing. I want to shout out Jazani who is very polite and friendly and made me feel very welcome in the hotel. She smiled and greeted me every time we crossed paths which really made me feel welcome in moon palace ocho rios. She is truly an asset to the team and made our stay that bit better. I understand that she is leaving soon but I still want to give her the recognition that she deserves.
Having previously visited MP The Grand Cancun and loved it, we thought we would try out a smaller MP property this year.
Stayed 14 nights as a family of 4 in an upgraded junior suite (same size room as the standard rooms at The Grand) as the standard rooms in Jamaica are much smaller.
We had a great holiday but I wanted to write this review all around allergies as my son is a coeliac (celiac) and I am gluten intolerant and I didn’t see many reviews on this topic. These types of reviews are gold to coeliacs!
We received an amazing service from exec chef Miguel and his sous chef Benjamin. Head to Public Relations Office on arrival to get their WhatsApp’s.
WhatsApp them whatever you would like to order for breakfast lunch and dinner and they’ll be sure to accommodate your requests. They are quick to respond and nothing is too much trouble for them.
My coeliac son is also very fussy and they went out their way to accommodate his wishes. Delivering items that were on a different restaurants menu to wherever we had a reservation eg GF pasta dishes to MOMO. We got the same service from these two guys as we did at The Grand.
They’ll also arrange for you to collect lunch from one of the restaurants around the pool. Under their guidance, Chef Otis at Pier 8 prepared us burgers, GF fries, chicken etc. We had gluten free pancakes and Nutella delivered to us at the buffet every morning.
Gluten free pizza is available from the Gourmet Kitchen opposite The Boulangerie as is sushi if you like it. I also requested GF caprese toasted sandwiches most days from the bakery section via the chefs, zero cross contamination and they were delicious.
Gluten free crepes are available from the boulangerie too but try to go at off peak times as it takes them some time to fully clean the machines. You can also get GF truffles at the Boulangerie. In terms of ice cream, Chef Miguel and Benjamin will source you some from behind the scenes to avoid cross contamination.
These two made our holiday seamless. Just like The Grand Cancun, we never had to worry when it came to eating safely.
Agra has many naturally gluten free options if you like Indian food, but there isn’t a kids menu.
Gondola was also a firm favourite. Pier 8s surf and turf was also good. Momo’s menu was the only one that wasn’t very GF friendly. We got pasta delivered there instead so my husband and other son could enjoy the Momo options.
If you are coeliac, celiac, gluten free or have other allergies I would certainly recommend MP Jamaica. All the restaurant managers are very allergen aware and will go out their way to help you. Tanisha in the buffet at breakfast always came to see if we were good.
My advice is to make sure you get the chefs WhatsApp’s which is exactly what we did at The Grand and give them notice and you’ll have no issues at all. As with all holidays with allergy requirements, the easier you make it for them the easier your mealtimes will be.
The beach at MP Jamaica is lovely, bar staff are attentive and friendly and the entertainment team are also very good. Adrian is the best!
If you have kids make sure you check out the bracelet making done in the entertainment hall by Auntie Pat an amazing Jamaican lady with a the most beautiful soul. We did it twice and painted the shells.
Playroom is ok but smaller in comparison to Cancun as is the Wired Lounge. But they are both strategically positioned close to the pools and entertainment halls so you can drop the kids easily and go have a drink close by in the Loud Bar.
We also did the couples massage at the spa with resort credits. That was also very good.
If you have been to MP Cancun. This is a much smaller version of Sunrise I’d say.
