Our parents were regular and loyal guests at Coyaba, visiting for the third time in late April/early May 2026, staying with friends they had made there over the years. It is easy to understand why they kept returning - the beautiful beach, the glorious sunshine, the wonderful food and the warmth of the staff made it a place they truly loved. Sadly, during this visit our dad passed away suddenly. What followed was one of the most difficult experiences our family has ever been through, and we wanted to share how the team at Coyaba responded.
The whole team were extraordinarily warm and caring towards our mum in the immediate aftermath. They went out of their way to look after her and presented her with a beautiful card filled with their personal condolences. In one of the darkest moments of her life, surrounded by strangers in a foreign country, the team made her feel held and cared for.
One member of the guest services team, Emon Felix, went above and beyond anything we could ever have imagined. He accompanied our mum to the hospital, helped with all the paperwork involved in registering a death abroad, went with her to visit our dad, kept us informed in the UK throughout, and carried out a number of other deeply significant tasks on our family's behalf. He did all of this with quiet dignity, warmth and complete selflessness.
In all our experience of travelling, we have never encountered anyone who has shown such humanity. Coyaba will always hold a very special place in our family's hearts. The hotel and the whole team should be immensely proud.
7 days into a 2 week holiday. Where to start? Booked as it was a small family run hotel rather than your large TUI type hotel. Didn't know what to expect but can say I'm blown away by this place. The staff are amazing and very friendly. The hotel is perfectly positioned on grand anse beach. The food it alternative nights buffet and al a carte. There's not much choice but given it's small number of rooms is understandable. The food it gorgeous and food areas are spotlessly clean, no flies or birds. For those worried about beds etc don't be, every day we have come to the beach and found us to be the only ones here. I love this place it's so safe and many of the guests are return visitors which speaks volumes.
We had an absolutely fantastic time from start to finish during our stay at Coyaba Beach Resort! The crystal-clear pool and the pristine stretch of Grand Anse Beach were completely irresistible every single day. Mr. Lewis, the Restaurant & Bar Manager, runs an exceptional team and showed an incredible personal commitment to our stay, going out of his way to check in every single time he saw us. His immense enthusiasm for selling the beauty of Grenada was matched by the pool bar staff, Jenelle and Nisha, and the beach bar's Leshon, who all stood out for their helpfulness and proactive willingness to serve us with a smile. The drinks they mixed up were really fantastic, and we were absolutely thrilled that they broadcasted the World Cup games at the pool bar daily, creating a fantastic and exciting atmosphere while we relaxed. Every single meal we had at the Arawakabana Restaurant was also outstanding, featuring a variety of international choices and flavorful Grenadian delicacies. To top it all off, we loved the lovely nightly touch where the housekeeping team would knock on our door to see if we needed fresh towels and personally hand us delicious Mini Coyaba chocolates. We cannot recommend this resort enough!
Spent a wonderful 7 days in this resort. Lovely clean room, lovely staff, straight onto a fabulous beach. What a wonderful hotel. Mr Lewis you and your staff should be proud,
This review is only for the restaurant. We were not hotel guests but dined there one evening. The food was terrible (and I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever said that about somewhere I’ve eaten while on vacation!). Everyone in our group left over half of their meal uneaten. So I recommend reading other reviews to figure out if the hotel is for you - it seemed nice enough as a more budget friendly choice on Grand Anse - but I would definitely not buy the food inclusive package if that’s an option.
