Ideal location ,right next to the garrison racecourse on the main road to Bridgetown. Rooms were bright and clean. The staff were helpful and friendly . Not much of a beach now due to sea reclaim. But lots of other beautiful beaches nearby. Hotel has a lovely swim up bar. We never struggled to find something to eat for breakfast to evening meal. Book early for chopstix something different. Overlooking the pools facing out to the sea. See yous again for 10 th visit in July
Disappointing stay, from day one when they agreed to change our room to then deciding the next day they wouldn't unless we paid an upgrade fee after telling us not to unpack, The hotel itself is ok but the staff, as so many other reviews say, are so unhelpful and at times plain rude, never have I been to a hotel with such a poor attitude in it's staff, a couple of exceptions but in the main just awful attitude to customers, unless you have a small child then they seemed quite nice. No thought on customer satisfaction at all. No planning for the world cup fixtures, no real daily entertainment and nightly entertainment was few and far between, The sea is not accessible due to the rocks on the sea bed and you have to walk to the next hotel to have a sea that is accessable The food was the same every lunch and evening again with the very odd exception All in all the hotel is in a good location with good facilities and the rooms where good. the housekeeping service was excellent but the staff and beach area let it down so much
We stayed 10 nights in June ‘26 and had an amazing time! The hotel itself is beautiful and the grounds are kept clean and tidy. The room has ample storage space and beds are huge. The secondary pool running through the grounds is unique and perfect whether you want to relax OR put some laps in. The food was delicious and varied. The desserts at any/all of the restaurants were top notch. The gym downstairs is literally an Aladdins cave. If you enjoy a decent workout while you’re away you’ll be blown away. Pebbles beach (swimming horses) is a 10 minute walk away. The hotel runs a free shuttle bus to Carlisle Bay beach 3 days a week too. All that being said.. the best part of Savannah Beach has to be the STAFF! The bar staff, the catering team, housekeeping, entertainment team, pretty much every person that works at Savannah made our time enjoyable and relaxing. Great people and great giggles.
Location If you know you know, ratchety roads gone wild or climb over rocks, sargasm and dirty broken bottle beaches. Easy to catch the bouncy bouncy ZR's or the rasta buses or the government buses. Either way you're going to break an ankle or come away with the most strongest ankles in you life.
Amenities
It's not a lazy river and the pool are both for dipping in and out of. It's only 3ft 6" in depth and even though it's cleaned of the rubbish, toys and leaves that get in the pools there is no chlorine in the pools so... The gym and studio smells of mould and it's very damp in there. The spa wasn't even open but given the smell of mould I wouldn't utilise it.
All inclusive???
There's no beach like you can see in the pictures. It's all gone. That's called false advertising. You hear the blame game of, oh it's the governments' fault, a hurricane came along and took the shore away, right now there is the annual sargasm being swept in, it's a destructive form of sea weed. It; stinks but also captures whatever is in its path and it brought along to the shore, think dead fish, rubbish thrown in the sea. They say that they mitigate this my taking you to the Copacabana beach with their shuttle that only runs up to 3 three times a week of which they changed the schedule when we was there. Only runs as a 10am collect and drop off, then 3pm only pick up. The stinger is that there are no drinks or food included you have to pay extra so expect around 60-80 BDS whereas if there was that beach you would be getting all your drinks and food at the hotel. Getting back to Benidorm Barbs, monotonous food, scrambled eggs, beans, bacon, sausage and fresh fruit daily the surprise dish is always a hash of what is leftover from the restaurants in the morning. Who goes to Barbs to eat pasta?
Food
Big let down, where's the fresh daily banana's, soursop juice, breadfruit, rice and peas, roti wraps, plantains, flying fish and cou cou? What about a piece of rum cake and pineapple upside cake? What about some sous, macaroni pie, the collard greens , the Guinness punch and fish cakes, curried goat, chicken and jerk chicken, fresh tamarinds which are everywhere on the ground. We ate loads. I don't want to be eating mango coulis with mashed potatoes. As for the cocktails some where made to perfection whilst others so top heavy in alcohol to be even able to drink it.
Cleanliness?
Bed sheets were meant to be changed every 3 days, they wasn't and often they didn't even replace the used towns. After over a week of complaining they were changed and guess what? We were infested with bed bugs. We managed to catch a few and show management who then accused us of placing them there. The house cleaning manager accused us stealing the complimentary shampoo and body creams, shower caps and coffee. Well, if we have to be taken to another beach, then anyone would take those bottles with them to shower off afterwards on the beach. The manager said to us, you won't be getting a refund for three bedbugs. The hotel shouldn't be having any. These were the ones we caught.
Conclusion
It's not a 5 star or 4 star, it's a 2/3 star at best. It doesn't even have a fire escape route printed off and placed on the back of the door. The door alone looks like it belongs in a ghetto. The staff are hit and miss. The good ones are excellent that go above and beyond but then there are some that literally blame you for the audacity of not catching enough bed bugs. We honestly thought they were mosquito bites until saw them. This place is not accessible for those who have issues with using the stairs like myself. This is especially important to know as when it rains there's a lot of water pooling on the steps so a very easy trip hazard for everyone. Many of the older frontline staff would be rubbing the inside of their noses when talking to you at the restaurants and bars. Overall it has the makings of a good hotel but it's far from it. It needs a complete refurbishment. All the mattresses burnt due to the bed bugs. All the rotten wooden inlays and cupboards cleaned. They don't even have a fire escape plan route on the back of the hotel doors and the shower takes at least 5-10 minutes before it gets hot. Don't about saving water when these simple measures aren't even in place.
Beach looks nothing like the picture in fact there is no beach at all had to walk every day to another beach. Atmosphere boring. Rooms not bad could do with a little updating. Expensive for what it offers. Clean. Quite. Service! Some of the staff are very rude, very regimented at meal times. Food repetitive, ate out more than ate in. Claimed there was a bar that opened until 1am never found it. Rachel’s bet never open. Wouldn’t stay here again. Beach is shocking, not the hotels fault but they need to edit pictures & info on this.
