Radisson Aquatica Resort Barbados

Radisson, Bridgetown, Barbados- DO NOT PAY MONEY TO STAY IN THIS HOTEL!! The building is falling down there’s water running down the side of the balconies and cracks and broken brickwork !! We stayed for 10 days with friends. The building & decor is tired & worn it needs a total refurb internally and externally xx some of the staff are nice & welcoming which is the Bajan way but beware some staff in the restaurant can be rude & ignorant - I wouldn’t recommend the hotel it’s a 2 star not a 4 star by any shot! You’re not allowed in the pier building because it’s unsafe. The bathrooms are disgusting mould round the bath, hair in the plug, shower curtains dirty water pressure went so no water for a few hours. The towels are changed regularly though. Pay a little extra and stay in the HILTON 5 mins walk down the road which is true luxury don’t stay in the Radisson you will be disappointed! Waste of money.

Not even been here 24 hours and I’m not sure how this gets a 4* rating? Woke up to water pouring through my bathroom ceiling through the lights and down the walls and after being told maintenance would check, it’s been over 1.5 hours and no one has come yet. The room smells of damp and mould. Mould on the walls and ceiling, around the basin and tub. Lights that flicker with the use of the iron, and the iron leaks leaving your clothes more wet then pressed.The smallest bath tub I have ever seen. The safe wouldn’t work, the room and all exterior could do with some paint and mould removal. The elevators weren’t working and when they “were fixed” you could push the button and the elevator bypasses doesn’t stop and picks random floors to stop at. Then when you do stop it isn’t even level with the floor. Asked at the front desk if the restaurant was open for supper. Was told yes, then when I got there was told it was a private party. No other food options available on site. Website stated breakfast buffet or continental breakfast, only option was buffet $50. Diamond lounge and Neptunes grill weren’t open, both sat empty and neptunes grill was converted a to a towel station. Thank goodness Skippers located next door was available for drinks and snacks during the day. The Lovely pier is closed off , boarded up and ready to fall into the sea. The beach is lovely, however quite rocky and loads of stones considering a short walk to Browne’s beach is completely stone free. For most part staff is great, working hard, if anything overworked and understaffed. Location is ok, just depends on what you are looking for. I would certainly advise taking some water and snacks with you, 2 free bottles of water in the room each day, however if you are in the beach and go to the restaurant/ bar for the exact same bottle of water it will cost you 8$. Not the best for food and shops without needing a taxi or long walk, loads of beach clubs for food but all close by 5 or 6. I would highly recommend the Bali Beach club for great music, vibes and food. Also Kristophes Cafe for breakfast and lunch a short walk away. 4K Jamaican restaurant has great pricing and portions, food is fantastic but go early as they only make so much through the day and once it’s gone , it’s gone. And the Indian grill for their exceptional Roti. Would never stay there again, it should only be rated a 1*.
