Whether travelling for business or pleasure, this charming and elegant hotel offers convenient access to the city centre, numerous local attractions, restaurants and a vibrant nightlife area. Featuring state-of-the-art facilities, the hotel is located in the well-known Garrison historic district and is within easy walking distance to the island's white sandy beaches. The hotel's lobby is bright and contemporary, welcoming guests with vivid island colours, an open lounge area and media booths with HD televisions. Accommodations are roomy and well-appointed, featuring a spacious working area, plush bedding, flat-screen television and complimentary high-speed Internet access. The hotel also features an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre, guest laundry, a business centre and meeting facilities to hold an important meeting.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Bridgetown for two nights in late February. The cab ride was less than ½ hour from the airport and cost $35 USD for the trip. Check-in was easy and front desk was very friendly, and we got a coupon for a free drink. We had a large room with a balcony and a king bed (room 341) that faced toward the ocean. You could not see the beach but could see the ocean in the distance. There was beach access across the street and the hotel over there has a beach bar. This is a great place to watch sunsets.
The room was roomy and what you could expect from a Marriott in the US. Everything worked. The balcony was nice and the side we were on was more “secluded”. We stopped at the bar for drinks a few times and had one dinner there. The service is overall slow, but the food was ok…but there are many restaurants very close by that have better atmosphere. There deck by the pool was nice to relax with a drink.
The Garrison, Pebbles Beach, and Carlisle Bay were all walkable and in the other direction is a nice boardwalk along the ocean. This location puts you close to the ocean and is a good base to explore this area. I would recommend this hotel.
Booked for overnight in Barbados prior to a cruise and this property exceeded our expectations. In a great location across the road from public entry to a lovely beach, a short walk to a strip mall with shops and pharmacy, lots of restaurants within walking distance, and just at the start of the Haynes Broadwalk. - great for early morning walks along the sea.
The hotel staff were super friendly and helpful particularly on reception and the concierge: my husband left his hand luggage in the taxi from the airport and they were so helpful in tracking down the cab driver who brought the bag back to us and drove us to the cruise terminal.
We had a huge quiet room with a ful bathroom, with both tub and shower, and loads of sockets including USB.
There is a good coffee shop in the hotel with outdoor seating and a first flor sun terrace with loungers and chairs and a small lap pool that overlooks across the road with views to the sea.
Absolutely recommend.
Hotel is in a good location off the main street and was quiet. The decor was up to date, the check in area, waiting area, restaurant and rooms were clean. Staff was attentive. We were only here one night pre-cruise, so we did not use the pool. The breakfast offered a wide variety and the replenished food regularly. It was a bit pricier considering your not next to a beach.
This hotel was mediocre. For the cost, there are many better options nearby. I stayed on two occasions at this property. The room the 2nd time was dingy and felt dirty. It was also very loud with mechanical noises and activity of the property (not guests). There is a really nice Hotel Indigo nearby. It is a much better option with beautiful rooms, ocean views, 2 great pools and on the boardwalk (with access to beachside bars and restaurants).
Just finishing a 5 day conference here - everything has been fantastic except - our conference room was great other than the air conditioning seemed to be rationed, We had a constant battle asking the hotel to turn it back on - not sure why it gets turned off (cost saving?) or indeed why it has to be centrally controlled. The staff have been great but whoever controls the aircon is not. Great conference facilities if you want to conduct the event in your swimwear
