This establishment is the ideal choice of accommodation for all those who seek a peaceful place resembling paradise where they can truly rest and relax during their holidays. The premises are set at the Rockley Golf Course, being very convenient for all golf enthusiasts, and close to several beaches of real beauty. The apartment complex is also around 6 kilometres from the capital city of Bridgetown. All the accommodation units are beautifully furnished and count with an impressive array of amenities and features for a memorable stay. They are air-conditioned and have a fully equipped kitchen in case guests may wish to prepare their own meals. Visitors can also keep updated thanks to the complimentary wireless Internet connection available. At the outdoor swimming pool, guests can pamper themselves with a refreshing dip. If visitors are travelling by car, they can use the free carpark.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Just returned from a couple weeks in a one bedroom unit, lengthy review but it’s how I found it. On checking in no welcome, how was your flight etc but “what’s your name and here’s your bill”. It appeared throughout the stay that any hospitality experience was sadly lacking and communication was poor among the staff. Unit was tired with old equipment which is expected in fairly budget accommodation in Barbados and manageable if it all works, small tv wouldn’t switch on, bed lights didn’t work and although 4 chairs on the patio, no table. Trip to the office and these snags were sorted but clearly no one had checked the room. Now to check any emails, get on the WiFi, can’t join, back to the office who said they were having trouble with WiFi but it was getting sorted, the best it got when it occasionally connected was 7 Mb,(phot) ages to download a mail then content wouldn’t load, any web pages timed out, wouldn’t support WhatsApp calls or the fire stick. Day 2, woke to pool of water in bedroom with leaking air on, bucket under the sink I noted so I’ll pop it under the leak, maybe not as it was there to catch the water leaking from the kitchen sink - back to the office. Check out the pool, nice area but with no shade, 6 old plastic tables, only 1 with an umbrella, a few sun beds, some unusable to support 40 apartments ( phot) Office said some were on order ( never appeared) Day 3 - aircon leaking, sink leaking Day 4 - aircon serviced, sink leaking Day 5 - aircon leaking, sink leaking Day 6- power tripped in kitchen area, no hot breakfast then. Aircon leaking, sink leaking Day 7. Aircon replaced, all good, sink leaking Day 8 - sink fixed In general kitchen equipment old, poor and needed updating. This place has great potential and the cleaning staff did there very best and worked hard but clearly has had no investment and everything is done on the cheap, no effective management
We were very disappointed with the room. It needs updating badly. The bed was rock hard. The towels were raggedy and fraying. The bathroom was in terrible condition with stains around the sink and tub. The shower mat was yellowed and must have been very old. The people were friendly but the service was lacking. We only had maid service one day out of our 8 day stay. And thank goodness for that because the garbage was beginning to smell. Even after the room was serviced dirty dishes were left in the kitchen sink. I called to ask about it and was told they don’t do dishes. So unless you want to wash dishes on your vacation, don’t eat in your room. Also, there are no screens and the lock on the sliding door left an inch gap so mosquitos had a field day! We had to buy citronella candles to make our room tolerable.
Plum Tree is beautifully situated alongside the golf course. Outlook across the fairway. Apartment was well appointed if a little dated. It was well serviced every second day. Air conditioning in the bedroom was essential. It was possible to walk to beaches, shops and restaurants although not all roads have pavements. Main downside was not having reliable access to WiFi in the evenings. Despite making this known to staff this did not improve for the duration of our stay.
DO NOT BOOK THIS RESORT I booked two rooms with this resort in October and November. I recieved multiple confirmation emails for months. I even changed check in details and recieved conformation for those. A day before arrival after many phone calls, emails and stressful hours I was finally contacted and told both reservations were not available. Due to the resorts negligence I had to book last minute accomadations for the 2 rooms and our family was not able to stay together and the cost was significantly higher. The resort has done nothing to compensate for their major error. DO NOT BOOK THIS RESORT
I have read some reviews and have to agree that the apartments could do with a refurb, especially the bathrooms and it is definitely time to invest in new bathroom towels, they were awful but overall we enjoyed our stay. Our apartment was in fact comfortable, the lights worked, the WiFi worked and the air con in the bedroom was very effective and welcome although, as said it was dated it was spotlessly clean with new kettle/toaster in the kitchen. The grounds are truly beautiful, very well maintained and quiet and it’s approximately a 10-15 min walk to Rockley and it’s gorgeous beach. We never walked at night tho, no pavements and very dark but taxis are not that expensive and reception would always arrange for us. We found the reception staff helpful and friendly. We actually spent very little time in the apartment but our overall experience of the resort was good (the only reason I might have removed another star would be for the bathroom and ghastly towels) Would I return? Yes, I think I would.
