This property has all of the potential to be excellent if only the new(er) owners would be present long enough to meet guests for feedback. When absent, the staff in particular those attending to the restaurant, would prefer attending to their phones vs addressing guests. They nickel and dime on top of relatively high U.S. pricing for menu items. Such was the case when asking for I.e. cinnamon on oatmeal or butter for pancakes… it required a up-charge of $1.50 U.S….aside from poor customer service it was simply ridiculous. Seldom is there the required inventory to make menu offerings and as such, you’re lucky to be able order 2 of 8 items on the menu for any meal. Other notable shortcomings included a request at the beginning for the amount of preferred housekeeping. We chose every other day however realized after, it was simply a method for cost cutting vs environmental as not even toiletries or towels were checked for possible changing/replacement. Finally, after a four day stay we felt there were better offerings nearby and realize you really aren’t ahead financially staying here when a cab expense is necessary to enable having a decent meal.
Thoroughly enjoyed our first stay here in our 2nd floor oceanfront room. We were here for a week and wound up eating several dinners here throughout the week because the food was so good. There were a few occasions when something was unavailable but there were many fine choices to pick from. We ate breakfast there every morning. One thing I must say because I read about this in a previous review. After each meal you are asked by your server to review your bill so there is no mistake or worry about being overcharged for anything. We felt this was a great practice. The front desk staff were friendly and very helpful all week. The pool was very clean and is positioned just alongside the surf and jetty rocks. No worry because there are public beaches to either side of the hotel just a few minutes away. Every server in the restaurant and both the pool bar and restaurant bar were very polite, informative and attentive. A huge shout out goes to O'B, Tre', Janya, Sasha, Kay and Aretha. You folks made us feel comfortable and appreciated. The level of service you provided was outstanding. Our room was just the right size with a nice balcony. You literally hear the ocean crashing against the rocks 24/7 if you open your balcony door. The hotel is minutes from the airport yet you rarely see or hear a plane. Getting around if you don't rent a car and dont want to pay a lot of money for taxis you can catch the #11 bus that costs $1.75 and runs west from the hotel past the most popular beaches/areas going all the way into Bridgetown where many of the "on the water" tours originate from. The bus is used by locals and tourists alike and they play reggae music quite loud but you get where you're going quickly and at a fraction of the the cost of a taxi. Upon arrival at the hotel they go over your reservation and offer you your choice of room housekeeping frequency. We chose every day and without fail we had fresh bath and pool towels daily and a very clean room. They will also help you book tours or transportation and are not at all pushy about pushing activities on you. All in all it was a great experience.
First time visitors to this beautiful island and we couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. The view of the ocean from our room, pool area and restaurant is everything you would expect from a place called Oceanblue. The room had everything we needed from extra large bed and more than adequate shower room to outside sitting area and a fantastic view of the pool and ocean. The thing that made the hotel perfect for us was the staff who were polite, helpful and here to make your holiday pleasurable. If I was to pick a down side I would say the hotel is a little isolated from all other tourist attractions but if you are prepared to travel on the ZR or reggae buses then this won’t be a problem.
what s beautiful location, Our first holiday in years without the children and an excellent place to stay. All the staff, food and facilities was excellent. We also met other guests from around the world and had great craic
Was at a conference inland for a few days and was looking to be by the sea for the last two days. We were welcomed by friendly and accommodating staff, our room was spotless, the food and beverage staff were friendly and so helpful in sharing island culture. We will return again.
