Rustic Gem
Occupying a headland on the west coast of Antigua Cocos Hotel is a rustic tropical paradise. It doesn’t have televisions. It doesn’t have a gym. Your cottage will not have marble floors or furniture polished for the arrival of royalty. Your shower is outside. Your balcony may be visited by lizards, birds and an occasional mongoose. The restaurant is spacious and open. No windows, no doors. Sometimes you’ll be visited by birds, insects and the resident cat while eating. As the sun sets pelicans will be fishing for their supper in the bay. Sometimes the service is on Island Time. But do you have somewhere you need to be?? 😂 If you read the above and see any of it as negatives, please don’t go to Cocos. If you can embrace this place for what it is, a rustic tropical paradise full of warmth and love, this is the place for you. Many of the staff have worked here for years, nothing seems to stress them, and they give you the room you need to relax and enjoy your holiday. You could come here and find fault, but perhaps take a look in the mirror. Bring your best self. Punctuate your day with cocktails and smiles. Relaxation is compulsory. I’ve been on many holidays, often I’m quite glad to go home. I’ve never been so sad to leave a hotel behind as when we handed our keys back at reception here. A special mention for Anisha in the restaurant and chef Maureen. Awesome service, delicious food. See you all again soon!!

Amazing place to experience
There are not words enough in the English Language to say how wonderful this resort is! The staff or so welcoming, warm and kind!! (Marie, Kerry,Omario,Jason) just to name a few that stood out but everyone was amazing!! The food and drinks are out of the world and the rooms and beaches are breathtaking! It was truly an amazing visit and we are already making plans to visit again!! If you are looking for a truly breathtaking and amazing experience I highly recommend this resort!!
A Truly Special Stay at Cocos Hotel – Paradise with Exceptional Hospitality
We had a wonderful stay at Cocos Hotel and would happily return. The food was one of the highlights. Everything was locally sourced wherever possible, with a real focus on sustainability. The chefs were very accommodating, catering for allergies as well as personal preferences. They were always happy to prepare a fresh fruit plate for me instead of a sweet dessert, which I really appreciated. Breakfast offered delicious local fruit juices, freshly baked pastries and a varied menu, so there was always something different to enjoy.
We stayed in one of the entry-level cottages, which I deliberately chose as I was travelling with my elderly mum, who is careful on her feet. It was the perfect choice, with easier access while still enjoying spectacular views. We loved the hammock, the outdoor shower and waking up to the sounds of nature. Seeing all the local wildlife around the cottages was an added bonus.
The views throughout the hotel are simply stunning—from the restaurant and bar to the cottages and the beach. Every area offers incredible scenery.
The beaches were beautiful, with plenty of sun loungers available, so there was never any need to rush for a spot. One of the best experiences was being able to swim easily from the beach to the reef next to the restaurant, where we saw flat needlefish, creole wrasse and many other colourful fish. It was also noticeable how meticulously the staff cleaned all the loungers and water sports equipment every single day. Every member of staff was warm, friendly and professional, and always happy to answer questions or share recommendations about Antigua. A special thank you to Franklin, Loreen and George, who gave us excellent advice on other beaches with fantastic reefs to explore.
If you're planning to explore the island, I highly recommend Nine (his nickname) from Really Taxi Service (phone: +1-268-725-2094 ). He was incredibly reliable, always arriving early for collections and making sure we got everywhere safely and on time including airport transfer. Nine is friendly, thoughtful, patient and great fun—we laughed throughout many of our journeys together, and he really added to our holiday.
I'd also recommend Jermaine (phone: +1-268-775-3011), who can organise a wide range of excursions, including deep-sea fishing, zip-lining and other island tours. Rather than only visiting the well-known tourist attractions, we wanted to experience more of the real Antigua. Alongside the must-see sights such as Nelson's Dockyard and Shirley Heights, we explored beautiful beaches on the east coast, visited local fishing villages and discovered some of the island's amazing tropical fruits. It gave us a much deeper appreciation of Antigua and its culture.
Thank you to everyone at Cocos Hotel for making our stay so memorable. We left with wonderful memories and hope to return one day.

Great overall
Pros: Great location on both Jolly and Valley Church beaches at the same time. Calm, warm and very clear water. Unbelievable views from cottages and the restaurant. Flowers are everywhere on the property. Food is great and feels high end at the restaurant. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Issues (like water or power) are addressed very quickly. Cons: With all beaches on Antigua being public, pushy jet skies rental people from outside of hotel are bothering guests daily trying to get you rent from them.
