Awesome experience! This resort really made the Antigua experience memorable. I went for my honeymoon and happy i chose Cocobay. The staff is very nice!! The food was awesome. My wife loved the coffee every morning. They had a bbq on the beach for lunch one afternoon during the week, which was a fun addition. We at both at the main dining hall and Cliffside, and both were awesome. We also ate at Sheer Rock, which was amazing. The experience as a whole was a WoW factor for us.
We came to cocobay for our honeymoon and could not have been happier with the experience. All of the staff was incredibly kind, fun and accommodating. We both feel like we truly found a hidden gem and already know we would love to come back with friends!
Cocobay
Cocobay Resort Antigua. Where to even begin! Bottom Line Up Fromt: this is one of the best, if not THE best, resorts in which we have ever stayed. Grounds: A Beach: A+ Pools: A+ Views: A+++ Food: A+ Entertainment: B Deluxe Cottage with Plunge Pool: A+ Staff Friendliness/Attentiveness: A+++
For context - my husband and I travel internationally to different countries in the Caribbean, Latin America, and/or Western Hemisphere at least three times a a year. We have been to a LOT of resorts over the course of five years all over the place.
Cocobay is unmatched. We were most impressed by how attentive and friendly the staff were. We were warmly greeted CONSTANTLY every time we were seen. From entry to departure. On our second dinner we causally mentioned that we didn’t eat pork. The next morning our hostess told us they had turkey bacon for breakfast for us. The front desk regularly offered to assist us with excursions, taxis, massages. The grounds keepers spoke every day. The staff remembered where we were from, when we were leaving, I cannot say enough how incredible the attention to detail was.
Next - the food. I was worried because in booking this resort I read that there was only one restaurant. This is different from most all-inclusive resorts, which usually most about 4 to 8 different restaurants with different types of food. To my pleasant surprise, we found that the one main Restaurant had alternating menus every day and everything was cooked to order. For breakfast and lunch you have a choice of lots of different options that you would easily find in a breakfast or lunch buffet again all cooked order meats, vegetarian options, eggs, etc. sandwiches burgers I mean spectacular. For dinner - You had a choice of an appetizer, a choice of a soup or a pasta of the day, followed by a main and ending with a dessert. There were three or four items in each of those categories to choose from and when I tell you, we never had a bad meal I am not exaggerating. The chefs in that kitchen are incredible!
The beaches and the two pools were exquisitely beautiful, with views from each pool extending out over the ocean, which boasts multiple colors of blue. One of the pools was referred to as the sunset pool because we could literally watch the sunset over the water every day. That pool also looked down into about half a mile worth of white sand and blue waters, which were EASILY accessed from a couple of stairs directly from the hotel. The water was perfect. No strong waves. Easily swimmable but also perfect for snorkeling or wading.
Finally the room - soooo cozy, cute, and always cleaned. Definitely splurge the extra $70 or so for the deluxe cottage with the plunge pool. Our room had double doors that opened up into a balcony with a small pool perfect for two. Not to mention the view from the balcony was the perfect blend of ocean and trees. It was absolute paradise.
We cannot say enough about our experience. From the moment we placed the reservation to our exit, we couldn’t have asked for anything more. For those worried about a few nights without a TV, don’t be. My husband and I were so relaxed and had the best conversations with a soundtrack of waves, birds, and insects. When we wanted a little something extra after a night of beautiful live music, we just watched a movie on WiFi on our tablet together in bed.
Cocobay we will be back!
We are so happy we chose Cocobay for our honeymoon! The views are stunning 360*, the food is amazing, and the staff is so friendly and inviting. Truly a dream experience and we can’t wait to go back! Special shout out to our girl Vincia and Derrick the main bartenders, for making our experience extra special.
Service, food and drinks were all top tier excellent. Would highly recommend to anyone. Jarbine at the front desk deserves 10 stars. He did all our excursions and taxi rides with absolutely perfect service.
