The resort offers a choice of four secluded beaches, making this an ideal choice for sun lovers to escape the crowds and completely switch off and unwind. The island of Antigua is known for its laid back charm, and you'll find the atmosphere at the Hawksbill is completely in keeping.
The hotel itself presents a welcoming array of traditional Antiguan style bungalows dotting the shoreline. Garden bungalows are twin or double an offer attractive garden views. All have en suite facilities and feature a safe, ceiling fan and mini fridge. Superior sea view rooms and bungalows are available at a supplement.
The Hawksbill offers a perfect mix of amenities to offer guests the chance to unwind as well as some choices for leisure and amusement. This was been our second trip to Hawksbill, 2 years after the first. You can see the resort is maturing, with better facilities improvements to the rooms and the menu. The location is as always breathtakingly beautiful, long clean beaches to walk along and beautiful calm warm sea to swim and snorkel in, I saw my first squid here this year! Ok this resort doesn’t have a butler service, or fine dining with expensive wines, but what it does have is a wonderful caring team of staff, who honestly do their upmost to make your stay a pleasure. I don’t think we’ve ever stayed somewhere and had the “perfect” trouble free holiday, but our week at Hawksbill has flown by and I wish we were staying longer. A big thank you to Amit, Kris and Chef Curtis for helping with our strange dietary restrictions. Also thank you to Julian, Nissy and all the restaurant staff, and last but not least a big thank you to Gerald the Hobie Cat King, if you get a chance to sail with him take it!
From start to finish i had the best time. I was greeted with a cool towel and bubbles and the welcome was so warm I felt like family . I have been Antigua 3 times and this was may most memorable stay. I stayed in the beach front bungalows 2 doubles and it was just as described actually better the location of this resort for me was amazing 4 beaches so close to St John's and not far from other attractions. Taxis available outside and a desk to book any tours you need to go on. A bus to Shirley heights . 3 Restaurants PD's grill was my favourite in the day but the evening entertainment was great . I was only there for 3 nights i seen the fire man show , lovely band with an amazing vocalists felt like she was signing just for me did all my favourite songs . Food in the main buffet Tamarind restaurant was great to. Something for everyone fruits, porridge. Olives, cheeses. Bacon, eggs . Sausages. Saltfish and even an egg and omelette station. I loved the poached eggs with creole sauce
The landscape is amazing nothing is too far unless you have mobility issues The golf buggy takes your luggage to your room .
The staff work so hard they were all so helpful and had smiles and gave good conversation
There was 1 day on Sunday Pd grill was closed due to weather and the Seagrapes Restaurant stayed open a little later in the day . So it was a little busier in the day and I felt bad for the lady serving management should have put on extra staff to support her as she was talking order greeting guests and cleaning tables. Management please do not let this happen again The lady did so well to do all those jobs and still remain calm and pleasant
If you love water sports go on the Jet skis with Josh do an hour your see so many of the 365 beaches Myron also will let you know about the boat cruises If just want to be a starfish in the water or snorkel, kayak etc at no extra cost this is the place for you
A real gem of a place. Could do with a bit of a spruce up but the beautiful beaches and friendliness of the staff make up for it.
If you're looking for a laid back resort with great beaches and clean ocean water, this is the place. No boom-boom music, Michael Jackson shows or Foam Parties. Just a quiet resort that allows you to relax.
Many of the previous reviews seem fairly accurate. First impressions when you turn up at reception are really good, fabulous welcome with a glass of fizz and a refreshing towel and oh those stunning views across the grounds and beaches, a quick check in followed by a buggy ride to the furthest point of the “estate”. The first thing that hits you is the peace and serenity with just the soothing sound of the waves and the local wildlife, again coupled with stunning views. Our room as suggested previously was a little dated but the bed was very big and very comfortable, water was hot when needed and pressure was good the room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and was spotless, the mini bar was restocked daily, nothing too much trouble. Food was good with excellent theme nights and once you get your head around the dining choices at the three restaurants ( can be a little confusing for a start) everything falls into place with lots of choices, drinks awesome not many “3 star” places give you several choices of good bottled wines, cocktails and other drinks these were readily available and served to you without having to bar lean. Water was topped up frequently. Staff in all areas were extremely helpful and friendly. Just a small tip when dining, especially earlier in the day, I wouldn’t suggest leaving food and drink on the table without someone being there, the birds are very smart and as soon as you go they will be in there so it might be best to go individually. On the subject of wildlife yes there are birds, the ducks are awesome, and a few other bits and pieces including swimming pigs on Eden beach but why wouldn’t there be ? the backdrop to the resort is acres of tropical woodland and I suspect they were here first. Having said that we never saw a mosquito in our room the whole stay. All the beaches are amazing but pick your spots in which to swim or snorkel there are a few rocky areas to avoid. Evening entertainment was reflective of the resort laid back and casual don’t go expecting day time animation and all night discos or foam parties go elsewhere if you want those, this place is all about providing a relaxing, comfortable and chilled environment and it certainly delivers on that, there are various water sports if you’re that way inclined. There is very little to do outside the resort but there are various activities and trips worth doing to keep you busy In summary, stunning location, good food, friendly helpful staff, excellent value, extremely relaxing, would we recommend most definitely would we return 100% but there are still lots of other places to explore One last comment we did splash out and had one evenings private dining on the beach, yes an additional expense but the food (6 courses) drink( champagne) and service (Brian) made this a truly memorable experience
