This city hotel comprises a total of 193 rooms on 2 floors and facilities on offer include an entrance hall with 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, a currency exchange facility, 5 bars, a disco, a casino, a games room, a TV room, a restaurant, conference facilities and public Internet access. For an additional fee guests can make use of the room and laundry services, and there is parking available for those arriving by car.
Accommodation is offered in nine categories at the Caribbean Village. The staff Joy supervisor of bars i met her in 2019 and again on this trip. Very pleasant, hardworking friendly just great. She also stopped by our room to say goodbye and have a safe trip. She also said hope to see you soon
Shemia bartender at pool bar. Funny, young and social. She was very efficient and made jokes and always remembered my name.
J was short for his name at the OK Coral.He was a hustler, I called him speedy because he never seemed to walk. He definitely was very accommodating to our every request and went above and beyond. I also showed him a napkin trick, which he perfected.
Stacy I believe at the pastry and café store. She was very nice and sweet. She use to call me Doctor Love, from my previous visit to Sandals, always with a smile and laugh. Always asked me if I was coming back for my double expresso.
Delray ( The professor) he was nice and social introducing us to Sandals in the beginning. He met us several times during our stay. He always asked is everything ok There were a couple of very small issues in our room. He always took care of them immediately. Thank you professor
Amelia and Masalie at the front desk, very helpful and attentive. Always understanding our needs and questions. They also called me Doctor Love. I can't say enough about every staff member I talked to and met and just a friendly smile and conversation. I would definitely come back again. We were a big group of sixteen

We visited in September - the weather was amazing. The resort wasn’t too full, but it was busy enough for there to still be a good atmosphere in the pool, bars and restaurants. Plenty of loungers available but watch out for the floaty hoggers.
The food and cocktails were amazing - Eleanor’s rack of lamb was just something else!
We had a couples massage in the Red Lane Spa - so good I went back for a second (Vanessa Joy… highly recommend!).
Every member of staff that we came into contact with was polite, friendly and welcoming. We went for our anniversary and we were given a card and Champagne.
Entertainment was ok, pool quizzes and games were fun.
Tips:
- do the snorkelling… we saw turtles!
- kayak to the cliffs to watch the pelicans
- take a swim in the sea at dusk
- book restaurants as soon as you arrive
- walk to the top floor of the Med building for the views
- mind the jellyfish!
- take antihistamines / bite cream!
We never go to the same hotel twice, but would definitely recommend Grande Antigua and Sandals.
Average stay
Fantastic rooms and location, close to the airport. Food and service let it down though. Overall we enjoyed our holiday, with the food issue being addressed could easily be a 5 star hotel.
My first vacation to Sandals will be my last!
The beach was beautiful and the resort was nice with very good butlers. The housekeeping was marginable and very inconsistent. One day they would come at 09:00 for room service and the next day they would come at 02:30pm, which was very inconvenient. One night, housekeeping did not come to the room until 08:50 PM for turn down. It was disappointing, the service that we received for the cost of the vacation. We could have stayed at a five-star resort, with five-star meals for two weeks for the cost of this resort. Most disappointing was the quality of the meals. Not one of the meals was as good as I expected for the cost. Most of the meals were on or below the quality level of a major, low-cost chain. I have never been at a resort where the food quality was so bad. The value based on the food and housekeeping were pitiful and I would never return to this resort and doubt that I would try another Sandals Resort. Of all the years and multiple vacations, resorts and cruises, this was the worst. My first visit to Sandals will be my last. What a waste of time and money!
Beyond Amazing
I don’t even know where to begin. The Sandals Grand Antigua is unmatched. I didn’t walk by any employee without a friendly greeting and a smile. I had employees on several different occasions tell me what a pleasure it is to work at Sandals. Everyone is friendly and kind. There are always smiles and laughter. It a warm and welcoming place.
Raeleen took care of our room during our stay. She was in top of all our needs. She checked in to see if there was anything she could do for us. She kept us well stocked with a smile and kind words EVERY DAY!
Miss Sylvia greeted me with a smile and kind words every morning when I walked into the cafe. She was excited to see me and always asked about my day. It was service with a smile
JT and Delmore were amazing at taking our pictures throughout the week. They were always around and had fun poses for us to do. They laughed and smiled with us all week.
Jason, at Kimono’s, was phenomenal. We laughed just as much as we ate. He was funny. He had jokes and songs. He laughed and made us laugh. A great chef as well. It was not just dinner but an amazing experience.
Our butlers, Miss V, Niesha and Wendel, were top notch. They checked in regularly. They brought us drinks before we even asked. They decorated our room so special for our anniversary. They laughed and joked with us. They made us feel at home and genuinely part of their family. We met the butlers manager while up by the cafe. She was all smiles and very personable, not only with our butlers, but also with us. Our butlers were just amazing
Shemeika and Dillon at the Inaidera club were in top of all of our needs. We had several questions throughout the week and they were always available to help. They greeted us by name and were very familiar with our likes and past trips.
Though I do not know the groundskeepers by name, ALL of them were friendly and always said hello. They took great pride in their work and the place was so well manicured
It truly is a home away from home. We had nothing but amazing experiences
