Don't bother with this hotel, unless you want loud, loud music blurring out until the early hour's, this issue has been reported by numerous people but management dont do anything about it. Feral kids jumping the food queue, buffet is nothing to right home about and at dinner time it is a free for all with adults jumpingthe queues. Customer service not the best had to report an issue x3 times before anything was done. Only positive is the staff in dining area and the cleaners. The WI FI dosnt work. Having to pay for the gym even though you are a guest. Charging more for drinks when the morocco football team was on tv for the world cup. This hotel is definitely not a 4 star 3 at best. The rooms are basic but clean apart from the toilet/shower room smelling of drains backing up. The location is not near the beach roughly 15 min walk down the hill and 15 up the hill. Hotel is situated next to a main road which for taxis is ideal and the shop next door is ideal to buy toiletries and treats.
If it was not for the day entertainment (Okie Dokie), how brilliant the cleaner was on the second floor and Mohammad in the restaurant for looking after us, I’d be tempted to give this hotel not even a star. I have travelled around the world to countless resorts and hotels and I have never left a review until now. If you have kids I would personally avoid only reason I would not is due to the pool entertainment in the day which is great. HOWEVER, if you have children who are light sleepers and want a earlyish night after a long day Avoid this hotel like the plague! After bingo etc is done around 9:30, there is a DJ at the SPAGOS bar and unless you like drinking and smoking pipes there is no guest consideration in the slightest. The same Thud thud boom boom every single night of the stay causes an absolutely racket until about 12:30AM regardless even if there’s only 2 people down there still thud thud constantly. No sound proof baloney doors nothing which is very common in hotels now a days. We complained about this on the first night and they said security will monitor it, this did not happen and in all honesty it got louder. Moving on they advertise that they have free WiFi however be prepared to have to pay for a ESIM card or physical sim due to the wifi either not working full stop or dipping in and out. If you are a gym goer on holiday once again avoid as you have to pay to use the gym (50DHM) (about £4.50 per day!) never been to a gym on a hotel or cruise ship and having to pay to use a facility of such kind. Mohammed in the restaurant like I mentioned was great always was looking after us, however personal choice it wasn’t the best it did but wasn’t great. Mainly the same salads and meat every day you have to join a very long queue for the daily hot meats which can take a while as there is only one chef doing this. As a massive football supporter I was glad that the hotel was and is showing all 104 World Cup games, and as much as I understand the passion and love for the Moroccan national team which i respect and love (the hotel had a good amount of Moroccan nationals) I found it rather bizarre that when Morocco played the Netherlands at 2am local time that one the game was televised outside hotel rooms with again no sound proof windows they were blasting the commentary so loud I had to put on my noise cancelling headphones to try and block it out and had entertainment going on whilst many others were trying to enjoy and have a good night sleep, Why could this game not of been shown in the countless indoor venues around the pool which had multiple televisions? Once again I believe there was no guest consideration for foreign tourists especially with us and many others being up Early for tours of the city etc. And then to make it more confusing, for the Morocco vs Canada game the bar Windsor (WHICH IS PART OF THE HOTEL), decides to one hike the prices of drinks ridiculous £10 for a can of coke! Just to watch a game of football which I could of watched on my balcony for free and to cap it off we was being threatened to leave by what appeared to be the manager of the bar if we did not buy drinks which I find absolutely disgusting and unacceptable how when I went to watch for example Egypt vs Australia at the bar everything was normal prices etc but as soon as the Moroccan national team is on they think it’s acceptable to hike up the prices for guests who have spent enough money paying for the hotel and threatening them to leave if they don’t pay for a drink, and to make matters even better the sound levels of the game which was at 6PM was nowhere near the levels of noise than a game at 2AM. Like I mentioned I think it is a great idea how the hotel and country comes together for the tournament but I don’t believe there was much thought process into the entire thing. The electricity and water went off a few times in room. On arrive please note to self. They do not accept card for tourist tax which is a very first for myself never have I been to a country where they do not accept card for tourist taxes. The roof next to our room was leaking pretty bad which caused my dad to fall over and hurt himself in the process. Other positives was that we thought the hotel was kept to a brilliant standard of cleaning. All staff were extremely polite and helpful. However please take this review into consideration especially about the noise levels. I don’t blame any staff member I never will I believe they all work extremely hard. However I believe there could be a lot of work that can be improved as I believe this hotel does have potential in the future.
