The hotel is located in the north of Marrakech's medina in an area called Bab Taghzout, twenty minutes' walk from Djemaa el Fna Square. The nearby Bab Taghzout Square is a hub for taxis. The city centre at Gueliz is around 2 km, or a 15-minute walk, away. Sidi Bel Abbas temple is around 200 m away, and the souks of the medina are some 300 m away. Marrakech-Menara Airport is approximately 6 km away.
The 12 rooms and suites of the hotel are laid out around the patio on two levels, and are decorated with taste, originality, and with a constant eye to refinement. The furniture and decorative objects were exclusively designed and created here by Moroccan craftsmen. The crystalline murmur of a fountain can be distinguished over the hubbub of the bazaars, a heavy door is discreetly ajar among the ancient facades of the old town (medina) opening onto one of the most beautiful riads of Marrakech. Facilities at this air-conditioned establishment include a lobby, 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, restaurant, Internet access and a laundry service.
The rooms bear the names and tell the stories of explorers and great voyagers of legend such as Saint-Exupéry, Marco Polo, Théodore Monod and Alexandra David-Neel. In-room amenities include an en suite bathroom, double or king-size bed, satellite/cable TV, Internet access, a safe, minibar, individually regulated air conditioning and a balcony or terrace.
The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool with sun loungers, and massage and spa treatments are offered (for a fee).oroccan breakfast is served in the patio's coolness or on the terrace.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We enjoyed our stay in this lovely riad! The combination of the beautiful courtyard, sunny terrace, small swimming pool and a charming Hamam makes this place well worth the stay. Combine it with lovely and helpful staff and you will definitely enjoy and relax here. I definitely recommend this place.
Trying to pick somewhere that neither my husband or I have visited before, we plumped for Marrakesh. I looked on Tripadviser and this riad had fantastic reviews. Now I know why. When we arrived we were warmly greeted and offered some mint tea, (a Moroccan traditional drink), and some lovely biscuits. We had managed to book the last available room and were given a suite, which consisted of a lounge and a large luxurious bathroom on the ground floor and a double bedroom on the first floor. The suite was thoughtfully decorated and we were extremely happy. Although we had booked breakfast only, we did have dinner a couple of nights in the pretty courtyard and the food and atmosphere was really special. We had been recommended the Tanjia, a lamb or beef stew, which is a Marrakesh speciality, and this was delicious. If anyone enjoys a red wine then I can recommend the Moroccan Cuvee du President. Breakfast consisted of mint or black tea or coffee, orange juice, yogurt, fruit, bread and cakes and this really set us up for the day. The riad is approximately a 10 minute walk from the souks. We were contacted by the riad a few days before our arrival and were offered transfers @ 25 Euros each way. I would thoroughly recommend this because you are taken there in a comfortable vehicle. We did use the local taxis a couple of times and they were an “experience” to say the least! The riad is approximately 25 minutes from the airport. We had considered making our own way there but I honestly don’t think that we would have found it as it is tucked away. The staff were absolutely wonderful, warm and friendly, and couldn’t do enough for you. I tried to speak French to them but when I got stuck they replied in perfect English! There is a staff tip box on the reception desk and all tips are shared amongst them. I cannot recommend this riad enough and would love to return. Shukran !
This was a beautiful stay in a stunning property with really delightful staff. The location is a little bit off the beaten track, so taxi drivers do have to do a bit of work to deliver you to the door, but once you are there - it’s superb. The team will also call you a cab and talk any driver through how to reach them.
We sampled the room service (which was pretty good) and the breakfast ‘du Maison’ which was also very adequate and our eggs were well cooked and delivered just as we requested. Small additional requests (hot water, lemon and ginger for me because I had a cold; yoghurt for my hubby because his tummy was a bit unsettled were managed with great care and grace).
Hubby had a massage and proclaimed it was very good. We didn’t use the pool due to the season, but we enjoyed a beverage in the courtyard - it feels very private even when there are other guests.
Big thank you to the team for also calling a doctor for me - he arrived in one hour and was super efficient at giving me what I needed and getting me on my way - I was deeply appreciative of the care everyone showed.
We just returned from an unforgettable 7 day stay at La Villa Nomade, and I can honestly say this riad is something truly special.
Our experience began the moment we arrived at 1am - exhausted and stressed from our journey. Rather than just handing us keys, the staff welcomed us with such genuine warmth and had prepared a delicious meal despite the late hour. This extraordinary gesture set the tone for what became a transformative stay.
What made it exceptional: Every single staff member went above and beyond. The housekeeping team attended to every detail with genuine care and hospitality. The front desk showed endless kindness throughout our stay, always ready to help and making us feel completely at home. The restaurant served consistently delicious meals with such dedicated, attentive service that every dining experience was a pleasure. A special mention must go to the esthetician at the hammam - her treatment and care were absolutely incredible. The spa experience alone is worth the visit.
The transformation: We arrived carrying all the stress and weight of our daily lives. We left feeling completely relaxed, restored, and filled with a deep sense of peace. La Villa Nomade is truly a sanctuary - a place where you can completely disconnect and recharge. We're already dreaming of our return visit.
If you're looking for more than just a place to sleep in Marrakech - if you want a genuine experience of Moroccan hospitality combined with impeccable service - La Villa Nomade is absolutely the place.
Thank you to the entire team for creating such a beautiful haven of peace.
Just spent 4 days stay at La Villa Nomade. It's a great little Riad in the old city of Marrakesh only a few minutes walk to the main tourist sites including the Medina, YSL Museum, Souks, Restaurants etc;
The staff could not have been kinder. I could not give them a higher commendation. They were brilliant at making us feel welcome and arranging local restaurants, guides or taxis. Nothing was a problem for them.
The breakfast is simple but very sufficient and sets you up for your day. The surroundings at the Riad are just amazing and an oasis of peace and quiet. Once you walk out the door you are immediately into the local streets and alleyways.
The rooms are comfortable and quiet. Very ample for a short stay. Everything is very clean and kept very well.
All very tranquil.
Be prepared for the 5am call to prayer as there is a mosque just a couple of hundred meters away but that is the beauty of Marrakesh.
