Not long returned from our 2nd visit to this hotel. Pros : Staff are awesome, they work really hard to give you the best experience possible. Grounds are immaculate, plenty of Sunbeds and nice pools. Food, in general, ok. Drinks good but need more cocktails.
Cons : The constant harassment to buy trips from the guys in the lobby. On our first trip we were stuck with them for an hour because we couldn’t get our key. After a long morning of travelling, this was the last thing we needed. They even hassle you when you are relaxing in the bar area ! This time we booked a trip and it was a total rip off. Went on a private trip to Marrakesh and was basically walked around by a guide to all his friends shops to buy things ( lamps, carpets, medicines, etc). Got so bored we just asked to go back to the hotel. This cost over £110 for 3hrs. Don’t bother using them, I’m sure you’d get a better deal elsewhere.
Beautiful hotel, very nice and clean rooms and all general areas. Plenty of variety and good quality food in the main restaurant. Polite and helpful staff and very friendly, especially the restaurant, bar staff and the cleaners of our room.
The entertainment staff were very good. Shout out to Zak! He and a few of his colleagues were always on hand to encourage us to join in the many activities on offer. The sports facilities are good. Even though small, I was very impressed with the gym and its equipment. Kept very clean and tidy by the staff.
Water aerobics was good and the line dancing aerobics was good and entertaining 😀
Not so good….. No irons in the rooms. Why? When we eventually received an iron after more than one request one particular morning, the one brought to our room was damaged (a piece of the plastic was broken off) it worked just about. Then later the iron was removed while we were out to give to others. It should have been taken out of use, as not really fit for purpose. As a 4 star plus hotel, an iron and ironing board should be a standard in rooms, regardless of there being laundry services.
The pool…. The ladders on either side of the poolsides are in need of urgent tightening and repair. There are a few loose tiles in the pool which can be sharp. This happened where I was standing near the far side of the pool. It’s a lovely sized and very clean pool but needs more maintenance for the amount of people who use it.
What an incredible hotel. We arrived at the reception to be given welcome drinks. I think the receptionist was called Miriam, but what a lovely welcome- inviting, calm, professional. She also remembered us throughout the visit. All of the staff in the hotel were exceptional. If you want rooms that offer perfection you could probably nitpick and find the odd thing but for me it was about the overall package and that couldn’t have been better. Reasons why this hotel stands out:
I am sure I have missed things but in essence this was an incredible holiday - the overall feeling I really think should be in part attributed to the staff who fostered a super friendly environment. This was optimised by one lady who said it was the friendliest place she’s been and usually she likes variety but she wanted to book there and then for next year, another lady who was there only a few months previously and quite a few others who had visited before. Finally I would have loved to come here when the children were young as the layout looked ideal. Thank you Sol Oasis.
Our second visit and we can't wait to go again. This is a fabulous hotel with brilliant staff, super food and a huge variety of activities to enjoy. The rooms are clean and spacious with a fridge to keep your water cold and excellent air conditioning. There are s few TV channels in English if you need background noise whilst getting ready etc. Every day I went to the gym early- there are various machines, bike, treadmill etc, weights, steps, resistance bands and TRK equipment as well as balance balls. Water and gym towels are provided. It was cleaned daily. From the office outside you can get tennis, padel, badminton equipment etc to use on the courts. After a huge breakfast I did yoga outside by the pool before joining the daily dance class which was great fun. I didn't play darts but lots of people did. At 11.30 there was aqua gym prior to another delicious meal. If you are not up for 3 huge meals a day the snack bar provides lighter options and the pizzas are great. Every afternoon there was a cultural activity, such as cooking classes, pottery, I learned to write my name in arabic, cocktail making. Water polo in the afternoons was very popular before a really fun aqua zumba which had the pool full most days. The animations team are truly excellent, Zak is a great teacher and Hamza's yoga was super. The whole team were really enthusiastic encouraging participation in the range of activities. They made everyone feel welcome and included, joining guests for meals and sitting chatting when they weren't too busy. The evening entertainment was varied with live music outdoors before the evening spectacle which varied- casino night, the Voice karaoke, dancing, bellydancers. fire eaters what more could you want.? The food is great. A huge variety of salads, tagines, brilliant bread, pasta dishes, including fresh pasta cooked to order and meat and fish grilled in front of you. If you like plainer food there were always options such as chicken nuggets, breaded fish and fries. The desserts were excellent. Themed evenings eg Morrocan, spanish and italian were great. There were oysters available on a couple of evenings and sushi for those who like that. The 2 a la carte restaurants can be booked once each per stay, one is Spanish and one Moroccan. We didn't visit the spa this time but it was great on our last visit. Only just over 3 hours from Manchester I would recommend it for anyone
Visit number 5, and certainly not our last. A number of new faces on the team but each and every one of them welcoming and lovely. The people of Morocco are amongst the friendliest we have met, and the staff at Sol Oasis are at the top end of their sector. Every member of the team seemed genuinely happy to greet and serve us, and NOTHING was ever too much trouble. The food was beyond superb... well done to the catering team. The entertainment was pitched perfectly, enough for everyone but no pressure to participate - you should be so proud of yourselves. From the reception team, through housekeeping, groundskeepers, and everyone in between, you managed to make our stay a little sluce of heaven... IF I had to find fault, the only thing I could say is the pool is looking a little tired. This didn't affect our use or enjoyment, but it is an area that may need attention in the months ahead. I know and trust that the amazing team that work tirelessly to ensure a safe and relaxing environment will tackle this with the same enthusiasm they do every other aspect of the hotel. Thank you, thank you, thank you... as always, more perfect memories created in our own little paradise.
