We visited as a family of 4 on July 10th 2026. We went for two weeks. Two adults and a 18 and a 17 year old.
Location- there is nothing outside of the hotel directly if you walk out apart from a Macdonalds approx 5 min walk. The rest is waste land and very small convenience shops/residencies. 10 min taxi ride to the souks, loads to see and do there it was incredible. Top tip- get a guide, it’s super busy and the souks are like a maze over 4000 stalls it’s easy to get lost and it can feel overwhelming in the heat go on a cooler day if you can. An amazing must see experience though.
Rooms- were pleasant, cleaned beautifully every day, towels replenished, toilet rolls. No water replaced, you need to ask for more at the bar for your fridge. The rooms had gorgous Moroccan lamps in and had a hairdryer and tea/coffee/kettle/TV. It had a sofa and dressing table. Everything you need. We had a balcony overlooking a pool it was simple but perfect. The only criticism I would have about the room is the beds were very firm, some like this but my back hurt the whole time, too firm for me so I had awful sleep. The maids were always lovely and friendly and did a great job, it was spotless.
Staff- they can’t do enough for you here at Tikida gardens they greet you with a hand shake or hug or high five, look you in the eyes and always have a huge smile, they are so upbeat and have amazing energy even in the heat. Bar staff Hitchim was always full of smiles, energy, lovely jubilees and never had a bad day in the heat he was amazing!! Staff are so friendly, welcoming and kind, that made the holiday for us they were so lovely. They really look after you.
Activities- There was lots to do, walks or run around the unbelievably beautiful gardens, table tennis, hit classes, yoga, aqua aerobics aqua Zumba, water polo, pool volley ball, cooking demonstrations, cocktail making, tennis Moroccan language lessons, darts, boules, you will not be bored. Ahmed the Tui entertainment guy was amazing teaching us Moroccan and teaching us party dances on a night and doing aqua Zumba he had such enthusiasm and his fun outlook was contagious to everyone.
Evening entertainment- apart from the fab staff creating a fun environment the entertainment wasn’t great. The belly dancer was good, the Moroccan night was very loud and crashy and overwhelming we didn’t sit in the bar on that night for the second week. Entertainment and food was on repeat each week. The bar was very smart but the dance floor had the big light on with disco lights if you get what I mean so this reduced the atmosphere.
Food- there was plenty of choice from pizza, fries, meats, fish, salads, soups, tagines vegetables lots of fresh vegetables, but this was on repeat. There was an à la carte restaurant we booked in once it was nice but not much choice we cancelled our second week booking in the à la carte. The food was nice but a few people were unwell, some of the meat looked pink and someone was unwell after eating prawns. Other than staying away from meat and fish our family were fine with stomach issues luckily. The kids enjoyed the food too.
Drinks- the beer was nice, we tried the cocktails they were all good but no slushy strawberry daiquiri, no espresso martini but the ones on offer were very nice. There was plenty of choice for drinks. Can’t complain. Also iced coffees Moroccan mint tea etc throughout the day.
Adult only- this was our first adult only hotel and it did feel more relaxed in the buffet restaurant no children crying or running in front of you trying to get back to your table, it felt really relaxed.
Pools- There were four pools, a quiet pool which was silent you could hear a pin drop, so if you want to chill, read that’s a good pool to hang out. There was a small pool by the bar where people seemed to chat and drink and relax. There was a pool near the hotel entrance that had a jacuzzi where people sat in this and read, it was cool, then there was the main pool which had a fun vibe, music, this is where water activities happened it was more lively and we made lots of friends here as people were chatty around this pool. There is a pool for each mood you may feel on each day.
Recommend- I would recommend this hotel as it was beautiful, we made some amazing memories, I have given an honest review as I like to know what I’m going into. To improve this hotel they could do with padding on the loungers, a softer bed and the food and entertainment could improve slightly. Fantastic hotel for a short break maybe five days to a week would be great here. We would return but not for two weeks it felt a bit long and repetitive but if that was a week it would have felt fine. Pools and surrounding areas are cleaned regularly the staff do a fantastic job!!! Gardens were so beautiful and perfectly maintained every day. There is a spa and my son booked in and enjoyed his massage which was reasonably priced.
Thanks for reading, have a great time if you pick this really lovely hotel! You will love the staff!
Firstly just to say the staff make this hotel what it is. This is by far not 5star. Location is not ideal, although if you’re happy to stay in the grounds and not travel that’s fine. The staff work effortlessly all day and night. Lovely people. The atmosphere is very good. Lots to do, value for money? Hmmm probably not. I’ve been to better places and paid less. Cleanliness is very high. Rooms are cleaned every single day as are the bed linen. Sun bed wars! You will need to get up no later than 0630 to get your towel on a bed. There is not enough to go round, seriously. Weather is amazing. Serious heat Rooms are big, ceiling fans, air con, fridge, coffee and tea. Fridge, hairdryer. Bottled water is free. Ask at the bar. Take your cups and get them filled at the bar. Can’t fault the food, very big variety. Make sure you take everything you need, the onsite shop is very limited. I did request pool view and other bits due to a birthday in our party, none were met. Quite let down there, even after requesting twice from TUI rep Would I return? Most prob not, only due to location and price.
Our second visit was as good as the first, requested a quiet room and guest relations obliged. Check in was really good with Oumayma and Anjar making check in easy. Shown to our room by the porter where everything explained perfectly. Thank you Oumayma for always keeping us supplied with small notes every day perfect for tipping room 436 Mr and Mrs Morris. Breakfast was always lovely with Yasmin always perfect eggs and Salam the pancake were perfect. Meal times we were always looked after by Mohammed Labri and Amin who looked after us throughout our stay, Amin you were awesome. The Al a carte was lovely and again looked after us throughout by Mohammed and Abdelouahad thank you. Entertainment was on the whole really good worked around the football. Evening bar was always good and again looked after by Abdenrabman and the lovely Hassana who always had our drinks ready for us. The whole hotel was spotlessly clean and the gardeners kept the ground immaculate. Let’s hope it stays good with loosing the TUI blue status Thank you all
Booked a room with terrace and balcony and garden view no balcony blocked view and no where to sit , went to see TUI rep no help at all . Bedroom door will not lock . Sun beds have towels on at 6 am pool man putting them on for money !!!
Just returned from the most amazing holiday. The design, layout and appearance is overwhelming, an abundance of staff to do every job to keep this hotel spotless and a pleasure to stay in. Food good. Up early for day bed but worth it. I took an extra washing line to accommodate swim wear and towels to dry overnight. Early pick up note you can get a small continental breakfast from 6.30am. I didn’t but take a thermos flask to fill at bar or in restaurant with drink of choice. Kettle tea coffee in rooms as noted in previous comments no milk so took my own long life milk pots but only small coffee mug so I obtained a tea cup during meal to keep washed and hidden in room. As in a lot of places if you look closely enough work ie tiling could be better but does not affect overall appearance. Lilo’s are used tho comments state not allowed. Think people purchase from Mo’s just to left of entrance. We asked for quiet twin room, stayed in rear ground floor, huge room just what we asked for. Would totally recommend! And would love to return.
