I visited Dar Justo on November 20, 2024, and unfortunately, my experience was marred by significant issues that I feel compelled to share to warn other tourists.
During my dinner, a payment problem occurred. Despite the amount being deducted from my account (proof attached), the restaurant’s card machine indicated an error. The owner admits that their card machine was broken and that this has happened to other guests in the past. This raises the question: Why hasn’t the restaurant done anything to prevent this situation if they knew their card machines are faulty?
Instead of handling the situation professionally, I was detained at the restaurant and compelled to make a second payment, with the expectation that I would resolve the refund myself—a burdensome task for a tourist in a foreign country. I felt as if I was being blamed for the restaurant’s faults and even felt scammed.
Despite providing proof of payment days ago, I was accused of not paying. The management’s response was unprofessional, shifting the blame onto me rather than addressing their own technical issues. This regrettable experience stands in stark contrast to the warm hospitality I’ve enjoyed elsewhere in Marrakech.
If you’re willing to be blamed for a restaurant’s faults and waste valuable holiday time, this place might offer that unfortunate experience. However, if you want to enjoy Marrakech’s hospitality and cuisine without hassle, I recommend avoiding this restaurant to prevent potential problems.
Visitors are better off choosing other Moroccan restaurants like Ksar Essaoussan around the corner, or even any street food place on Jemaa el-Fnaa, which provide better customer service.
I hope this feedback prompts the restaurant to improve their service for future guests.
This hotel everything we were hoping for from a Marrakech riad. It was stylish, quiet, beautifully decorated and smelt of orange flower blossoms. There was a small pool. The bedroom was the cosiest and the beds lush. There was a lovely rooftop terrace with a restaurant serving sumptuous Moroccan cuisine. Staff were fantastic - always polite and helpful. Nothing was ever too much. It's location is literally in the centre of the medina, so absolutely fantastic, yet it remains so quiet so you feel very apart from the hustle and bustle. It does mean that you have a 5 -7 minute walk to and from the nearest taxi, though. But they have concierge who transport your luggage in and out, so no issue at all. I really cannot recommend this place enough. It is SUPERB! Their spa is also top class.
This is the most wonderful boutique hotel in Marrakech. The decor was beautiful and chic. The rooms were simple and comfortable. The staff were incredibly helpful - especially with my many emails ahead of the stay. They respond so promptly and arranged exactly the junior suite I wanted as we were travelling with 2 children. The restaurant staff are so sweet. The food was great. The concierges are so helpful and booked city tours and camel riding tours for us. I would definitely stay here again if I wen back to Marrakech.
Rooms outdated with damp, air conditioning broke down twice, booked Junior Suite never got it, pool unsafe to get out of
Lovely hotel hidden in the souk. Rooms quite dark and the lights have a mind of their own. No fridge in the room neither was there tea or coffee facilities in the rooms. Breakfast very basic, no hot breakfast. Night staff very helpful.
