- Riad al Ksar and Spa

Riad Al Ksar & Spa is a charming riad with a swimming pool, nestled in the heart of the Medina. Ideally located for exploring the Medina on foot, it's less than a 10-minute walk from Jemaa El Fna, the souks, and museums such as Bahia Palace, Badi Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and Dar Si Said Museum. This spacious and comfortable nine-bedroom boutique hotel offers numerous 24/7 services, including a spa, free Wi-Fi, a superb panoramic terrace, homemade breakfast, a bar, a restaurant, excursions, airport transfers, and 24-hour access. Each bedroom features air conditioning, a private bathroom, and percale cotton bed linens. Spa treatments, including hammam scrubs, massages, and body treatments, are available by reservation. Please note, a city tax of €3/night/person (35 dirhams/night/person) is payable upon arrival (children under 12 are exempt). In case of no-shows or early departures, a 100% fee applies. Direct payments can be made in EUR, USD, GBP, CHF, or MAD (currency exchange to MAD available at the hotel).
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Located near to the Bahia Palace and in walking distance to most places. Front door is down an alley after our transfer drop off from the airport (well worth booking directly with the Riad) probably like most places in the medina. Once inside we were warmly greeted and made very welcome.
Our room on the first floor was one of ten I believe. Large enough with a separate walk in shower & toilet. No Tv ✅ but sadly no hot drink facilities in the room. The room was cleaned each morning and the staff loved washing floors! It was booked as part of a holiday package and was excellent value.
The hotel was very quiet and the atmosphere was on relaxation especially on the excellent roof terrace where breakfast was served each day. Marrakech is a mad and chaotic place so returning to the calm was just the right thing.
The star of the hotel was the joint owner/manger Damien, who was always present and ready to be helpful and knowledgeable when asked for tips or just general information.
We really enjoyed our 3 night stay and would fully recommend this Riad (posh guest house in UK terms?)
We ate the first night and the food did not disappoint. The food, wine, taxis, money exchange etc were all very reasonable.
We spent an absolutely wonderful time in Riad Al Ksar and Spa Marrakech in early January - 2-7/01/2026. I know, this is a late review but better later than never. And these people do deserve all our gratitude!
First, the spa! This was seriously good! I so regret I read all those horrible and absolutely unjustified reviews before and decided not to use it. And so happy I changed my mind on the last evening. This was the best massage I have had in the last few years. I asked for a firm type, and Ilham, the masseuse, worked very hard following all my issues and requirements, despite the late hours (the day was fully booked and they took me outside their normal working hours). The hammam was delivered by Fatima. She was very attentive and caring. When I felt uncomfortable to lie on the stone, she put some pillows under my head. Again, if you’re uncomfortable with something, you just have to tell her, and she’s ok with that. Also, you can ask for additional towels. Don’t consider it as bad service. This is a different country with different culture and customs. Just tell people what you want (or explain with signs) and they are very happy to assist. Treat them as equals and they will reply very warmly.
The staff in the hotel. Fatimaezehra looked after us during breakfast. I think the hotel manger should do their best to keep this young woman. She was very nice and caring. The person who easily put a smile on your face in the morning. What else do you need to start a day?
And finally, Damien. The manager looking after us during the start. So professional and good! Always checked whether everything is alright.
We want to thank all these people from the bottom of our hearts. And if we decide to come back to Marrakesh again to further explore the country, we will definitely stay in this little and very busy Riad.
And I don’t need to say anything about the location because it is perfect, within walking distance to all main attractions.
Stayed at this lovely Riad in April as part of a 7 day trip in Morocco, we had 3 nights here and it was fabulous from the moment we arrived we were all made very welcome by Olivier and the team. Rooms are lovely, clean and spacious. We spent time in the afternoons sat on the roof terrace, with a glass of wine and stunning views over the old city. The location is perfect for exploring, everything you want to see is a stroll away. We would highly recommend a stay here. Thanks for a great time John & Alison
We did not stay at this hotel but booked a couples hammam and massage here. It was excellent.
Very clean, lovely surroundings, great massage and exfoliation!
We received precise instructions on how to find the Riad. We were met by (I presume) the owner who explained the service we would receive.
Fatima was the lady who washed and exfoliated us. She didn’t speak English but that wasn’t an issue.
After the hammam we had a fantastic massage in a lovely tranquil room.
Afterwards we were served mint tea in the lobby.
Fantastic experience.
We stayed at Riad Ksar Spa Hotel for three nights to mark a birthday and unwind. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and there is much to recommend about the property. The riad is beautiful, peaceful, well located for exploring Marrakech, and the hammam and massage treatments were excellent. The local staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay.
There were, however, a few aspects that future guests may wish to be aware of. Bottled water is not provided complimentary and must be purchased, as do tea and coffee. There are also no tea or coffee-making facilities or irons in the rooms. While these are relatively minor points, they are amenities some travellers may expect at this price point.
The main issue for us was the hotel's approach to noise. We were asked to lower our voices on two occasions, including when entering our rooms upon check in when asking questions, and at around 9.30am when making an enquiry about the spa. We fully understand the importance of maintaining a peaceful environment and respecting other guests, but being "shushed" while making an enquiry about booking a second spa treatment made us feel we may be more welcomed elsewhere and we didn't book again sadly. We felt there should be room for normal conversation without feeling self-conscious, particularly as there was only one other guest at the time the comments were made.
We raised this feedback with Oliver, who listened, apologised, and handled the discussion professionally, which we appreciated. However, the experience had already affected our overall impression of the stay.
It is also worth noting that although the hotel advertises 24-hour service, guests returning after midnight are asked to call or WhatsApp in advance so staff can let them in and keep track of who is entering and leaving. This is understandable from a security perspective, but combined with the emphasis on quietness it contributed to a slightly restrictive atmosphere. Guests should also be aware that evening meals need to be ordered in advance rather than requested spontaneously later in the evening.
Future guests should also know that the riad is located down a narrow street that vehicles cannot access directly. This is common in Marrakech and not a criticism, but there was no lighting immediately outside the entrance during our stay and the surrounding area can feel quite dark at night, which some travellers, particularly women may wish to consider.
Overall, this is a charming riad with an excellent location, very good spa facilities, and a genuinely tranquil environment. However, travellers looking for a relaxed stay where they can comfortably interact with staff, celebrate a special occasion, and enjoy normal conversation may find the hotel's particularly strong emphasis on quietness does not suit their expectations.
