Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Great staff, great breakfast, great location, great bed. The terrace and the interior are lovely and truly Marrocon style. I recommend as a wonderful place to stay in Marrakech. We truly loved our stay there and for sure we will come back to Al Jazira.
Musty smell in rooms, tiny bathrooms , pool dirty, quality of food was moderate. Overall very disorganized Inefficient local resources Internet ok, friendly staff I got injured on bed frame due to the tight spaces getting to the bathroom. There are much better RIADS in the area
Dirty musty smell in rooms, Dark, small And sharp bed frames Food was marginal, if offered at all. Staff mostly not available for help. No waters except on first nite. Dirty rooftop for a yoga practice. Dirty plunge pool. There are much better riads in the area.
Totally agree with the other five star reviews. Son & Wife scouted extensively and chose this location to host 10th anniversary destination “renewing of vows” including 26 guests. They rented entire Riad. The facility was/is timeless/magical and the staff (Yassine & many others) coordinated transportation, excursions, guides and anything/everything the guests requested/required. We did have toddlers & a baby in the group and staff/guides assisted with strollers/car seats, etc. Throughout our stay they treated us as family.
Marrakesh itself is a step back in history. Riad AL Jazira provides an immersion into that experience while providing many of the modern accommodations that we (spoiled) travelers expect.
Riad al Jazira was fantastic—and the staff (especially Yassine!) is what truly made it exceptional.
I privatized the riad for a celebration with 25 of our friends and family, including four children under the age of five. We also stayed a few days before/after our guests arrived, giving us an experience as a 'typical' guest.
From the moment we checked in, we felt like we were at home. The design is refined, with three beautiful courtyards, a spa area, and a sprawling rooftop. Breakfast is the traditional Moroccan spread by the pool, including charming little birds who will happily snatch up any crumbs you've left behind. The beds were comfortable and rooms were kept spotless over the week we spent there.
But what really made the difference was the team: from organizing last-minute food one rainy evening from their sister restaurant to helping us navigate the clinic when a toddler was ill, the whole staff went above and beyond.
Lastly, I'd just mention that some of the negative comments seem to be from people unaccustomed to Morocco: you can't drive into the medina, so this riad (like most) is only reachable by walking from the taxi stand—a scant 4 minutes away. Email in advance and the riad can arrange your shuttle to/from the airport; unlike other countries, this is done for a very reasonable fee and it will guarantee a porter is able to escort you + help with bags when you check in.
Highly recommend! We hope very much to be back.
