Palmeraie Village

Marrakech

Conveniently located in a residential area of Palmeraie, this marvellous residence is only 10 kilometres from the city centre and 15 kilometres from the international airport. Fans of the fairway will be able to tee off at the golf course which is only a 7 minutes car ride away. For those who want to soak up the sun, there are swimming pools on the residence grounds, complete with children's paddling section and a poolside snack bar. The residencel's new interior decoration provides the ultimate in sophistication, comfort and true Moroccan style in Marrakech. Guests will be delighted with their spacious flats which come with a kitchenette, suitable for those who prefer to prepare their own meals.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Sleepless weekend in Pavillon 28, Appartment 7

Awful weekend spent there. We usually love renting an appartement when we are there. The place is calm. The design of the apartment is lovely.

Greed got to them though. The bedding is either non existent or extremely dirty. It is disgusting. No flat sheet, no towels, no soap, no cover duvet. Please do not go there. The staff will promise you to solve all that on a minute only to hear that the ones that you talked to had ended their shifts. That they shouldn’t have promised you anything and that is anything that the remaining staff can do for you.

The weekend was infuriating and awful.

I can under that they need to make a buck but to rent lodgings so awful for that price is just plain wrong.

An oasis close to the madness of the famous suk

This is the best place to stay overnight in Marrakesh as it is far away from the noise of the city, yet really in touch with everything Marrakesh is. You will stay in nice 2 or more bedrooms apartments, with acces to the pool and some restaurants. In contrast (a moroccan mark), just as you exist the gates of Palmeraie, you see people living in cardboard houses, with kids playing in dirt and donkeys feasting on something resembling grass. You will need to have or rent a car.

Golf break

This hotel is not 5 star, far from it, the rooms are poorly lit and not very clean, under the sofa is full of dust and remains from previous guests.

You may not drink the water so the two small bottles we were given we used to brush our teeth. We were on half board which does not include drinks at dinner not even water throughout the day.

One bottle of water is 5 Euros. Wine around 25 Euros and above. Food is relatively the same price as in a good restaurant in Europe, quality does in no way compare and leaves much to be desired. Remember you are on a resort away from civilisation and they know you are at their mercy.

They have a shuttle but you feel obliged to tip otherwise the service becomes a little more than sullen, as is the norm in the entire resort.

There was no entertainment the entire week we were at the village except for a piano player for two hours we caught one early evening before going off to change for dinner.

We tried to book some massages on day of arrival we were told at the Spa their computer was not working, no thought of taking our room number or following up the next day.

Normal Taxis are 10 Euros one way we took one for sightseeing to Marakesh well worth 30 Euros for 3 hours.
The hotel car with driver charged us 160Euros for a day to take us to Atlas mountain. The driver Ibrahim took us for a lunch at his friend which once again took advantage of our generosity and left a bad taste in our mouth. Make sure to ask the price for everything beforehand...

Hotel: needs a little attention, broken and loose tiles around pool and steps back to area. Could do with a thorough cleaning throughout entire hotel.

Piano bar: horrid loud recorded music to make you fall asleep, not al all lounge, not sure where to categorise. Room: a palm tree overgrowing onto the balcony thus limited view of the pool. Dusty, mirror in bathroom not clean. Had to ask for toiletries and toilet paper on two occasions. Restaurants: perhaps it’s because we were one week before Xmas so there were about 20 people in total on the resort, at times we were the only guest in a restaurant. As to the food: Morocan restaurant both starters and main course were served hot but still frozen in the middle. I returned one after the other and we did not feel confident to eat anything there. Give this one a BIG miss. I was still charged for ordering even though the food was not edible. International restaurant ( next to the breakfast buffet bar ) another very sad frozen and microwaved dried up food served to guests. Asian restauranr: a little better than the other two previously mentioned. Italian restaurant; probably the best and worth visiting if only for the one and only attentive restaurant manager Yousef on the entire resort. You can forgive bad food if you have a form of service and this was the case. Club house restaurant:have a drink enjoy the view. We played golf every day 4 out of the 5 lunches was disastrous. Again food comes to the guest cold in the middle, another meal my grilled fish was burnt on the outside and cold on the inside yet they will argue that’s how it should be...yet again you have to pay whether you can eat it or not.

For five lunches, and admittedly we do like a bottle of wine (Bistro at around 26 Euros) plus a bottle of water came to around 800 Euros at check out.

We enjoy a good game of golf and chose a what we were led to believe by our Golf travel agent to be a good 5*resort. Our break ended up being quite the opposite. Even on the golf course we we’re approached by vendors selling golf balls they had found.

The management were very dismissive of any complaints and seemed very content to welcome the guests in the way they are. We met up with a few other golfers and not one had a good review. Out of 3 couples not one of us were satisfied nor would we choose to come back to the Palmeraie Village resort again.

Avoid - prestigia Scam

Scam attention - booked 2 nights with prestigia at what supposed is a 4* hotel then when arrived found no hotel - hotel closed during coving and never reopened still prestigia takes bookings. Arrives there no hotel no customer support from prestigia answering even though in opening hours - horrible customer support. I would avoid booking through this platform and totally not recommend it - you may experience a hell of journey and nobody will support you - AVOID - Scam

Avoid Palmeraie 2, especially Villa 44, like the plague.

On 15 April 2022 we rented Villa 44 in Palmeraie 2 in Marrakech through a responsible (we thought) international real estate agent, Kensington Luxury Properities, Marrakech. We signed the lease with the owner of the house, Mr. Fahim Jaouhari, and had the lease legally registered.

We were required to pay a two month deposit to the owner. Both the real estate agent and the owner of the house, Mr. Fahim Jaouhari, assured us this was standard and that the €9,000.00 deposit would be returned to us at the end of the lease.

The monthly rental fee was €4,500.00, accordingly the rental deposit was €9,000.00. During the one year term of the lease we paid all monthly rental fees and outgoings as required by the lease. There was no damage to the property.

On the day we left Marrakech for France, 13 April 2023, via telephone the owner of the house, Mr. Fahim Jaouhari, and the Real Estate Agent, Ms. Rim Kabli, assured us that the €9,000.00 deposit would be returned to us and directly deposited into our bank account.

To date, we have not received the funds and neither the owner Mr. Fahim Jaouhari or Kensington Prosperities will answer our emails.

We have hired legal assistance to get our deposit back.

Avoid Palmeraie 2, especially Villa 44, like the plague.
