The elegant hotel Palais El Miria enjoys a tranquil situation outside of Marrakech, within walking distance from the Oued Tensift River. The centre of Marrakech and its Medina with its quaint streets, countless shops, cafés, restaurants, exotic smells and the famous Jemaa el Fna square can be reached within a few minutes' drive. Marrakech Menara International Airport is at a distance of about 14 km. The charming hotel is housed within the walls of a Riad, shutting out the worries of the world and offering an enchanting oasis of peace and tranquillity. The elegantly appointed rooms are individually furnished and decorated, giving each one its particular charm. They are equipped with modern amenities such as air-conditioning, complimentary wireless internet access and satellite-TV. Guests can take a refreshing dip in the outside pool or get pampered in the excellent spa area. The exquisite restaurant serves delicious Moroccan cuisine. A wonderful place to stay.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We booked a “5* luxurious hotel and spa with outside pool” through Love Holidays. The hotel is run down and dirty and does not have any of the 5* facilities advertised. The pool was drained and the whole area a noisy building site. Our first room was damp and musty with absolutely no facilities apart from a tv. It rained during the night and I awoke to water pouring through the ceiling onto a puddle on the dresser. We were moved the next day to a larger room but it was just a slight improvement. We were unable to contact Love Holidays by phone or online chat to request to be moved (held at number 395 in a queue or waiting for over 90 minutes on the phone). The breakfast was some bread and cake with orange juice and coffee. We had to eat dinner in the restaurant on the first night as it was late and the food was tasteless and the starter inedible. There was a jacuzzi and a small fountain on the ground floor - they were drained and dirty. When we asked about this the manager informed us that the jacuzzi hadn’t been in use for 7 years. The “spa” is a dingy basement. The whole experience totally ruined what would have been a lovely break in Marrakech.
We stayed here in March 2026 and were looking forward to our “luxury 5* spa” holiday - but this hotel was a complete disappointment and ruined what would have otherwise been a great trip to Marrakech. The photos used on the hotel website and booking providers were maybe taken 10 years ago or AI enhanced. The outdoor pool area (the main selling point in the hotel’s photos) was a building site and unable to be used, the jacuzzi was empty and dirty, and the spa was a musty smelling basement. When we asked we were told that the jacuzzi had been out of use for 7 years. The rooms allocated to us were totally unacceptable - both rooms were damp and one had no hot water to shower. On the first night, both rooms had leaks from the rain and we had to insist to be moved. Although these rooms were an improvement, there were still no basic amenities - kettle, safe, mini fridge etc. Breakfast was only a few bits of bread and cake put on the table - very basic. no variety, and certainty not the buffet breakfast shown in the photos. The only dinner we had at the hotel was terrible and we refused to pay the bill. We knew the hotel was a little out of central Marrakech and thought this would be worth it for the luxury, peaceful environment. However, we ended up not being able to spend any amount of time in hotel except sleeping. The hotel was not comfortable or luxurious in any sense, and had none of the promised facilities - there was no pool, no jacuzzi or appealing spa, an awful restaurant and nowhere to even sit and socialise. We ended up spending way more than we had budgeted for on taxis and days out. Although the staff tried to be friendly and helpful, there were no other real selling points and this hotel would be 3* at a push. Don’t waste your money.
the accommodation is clearly not as advertised on the website. We checked in today at 15:00 and only upon arrival discovered that several key facilities and services listed on the booking page are either unavailable or significantly different from what was advertised. This information was not disclosed prior to our arrival and therefore could not have been known before check-in. The issues include, but are not limited to: • The pool is currently under construction and unusable. • There are no gym facilities available. • Reception is not open 24 hours and closes at 22:00. • The jacuzzi is not operational and we were informed it has reportedly not been working for several years. No hot water in the evening sometimes, and we didn’t have heat in the room, breakfast very poor, rusty humidity in the room. I would not recommend never to anyone. Another important issue is the breakfast service. We were informed that breakfast starts at 7:30. At 8:00 still no breakfast prepared and no staff present. including areas with rust, mold, and visible humidity. Considering these conditions, I would like to ask how this accommodation can be presented as a five-star property.
Absolutely incredible stay at Playa El Miria Riad in Morocco! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The riad itself is absolutely beautiful, and the rooms were simply stunning — every detail felt luxurious and relaxing. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome and were always checking in to make sure everything was perfect.
A special mention has to go to Aziz, who was honestly amazing throughout our stay. He was always there with a smile, making sure we were happy, comfortable, and laughing every day. He truly went above and beyond and is a real credit to the riad.
We couldn’t recommend this place more highly — if you’re visiting Morocco, Playa El Miria Riad is an absolute must stay!!!
Oh dear … how is this a five star? Extensive building works the pool full of builders dust drilling cutting tiles and banging all day long the pool as no hand rails and raised sockets on the patio … No hot water for two days food barely edible one meal was pasta with a dollop of tomato purée it had never seen basil or tomatoes…when we complained it was take away and brought back. With dried herbs ! Breakfast no choice bread cake and pancakes if you were lucky. Took 45 minutes to get a drink no spa no coffee machine no kettle my towels and sheets had holes in them ….. the photo on the website is very misleading its photo shopped at least ….. oh they ran out of basic drinks .. bar fridge was empty …. Bar unmanned !
