Marrakech Ryads Parc and Spa

Me and my family came to this hotel at the end of September to the beginning of October for 7 days. The staff are lovely here especially the entertainment team. I would like to give a special thank you to the bar man Abdul for his service, and a special thank you to the entertainment team. Anas and Yahya especially. So friendly attentive and caring. They made our trip so fun and comfortable.

Unfortunately, our stay at Marrakech Ryads Parc & Spa was a huge disappointment, and based on our experience, we would certainly never return.

The rooms need serious attention and refurbishment, particularly the bathrooms. They were extremely outdated, with rust and unpleasant/foul smells coming from both the toilet and bidet. The bath was also unusable because the plug was broken. When travelling with two small children, having basic, functioning bathroom facilities is something we expected as standard.

We were also unaware of any changing facilities anywhere throughout the hotel. This meant having to change our young son either on the side by the sinks or back in our room. For a hotel advertising itself as family-friendly, this was incredibly inconvenient.

The lack of air conditioning in the communal areas was another major issue. With temperatures exceeding 38°C, it was extremely uncomfortable to sit and eat meals in the restaurant while feeling hot and sweaty. Air conditioning in the communal dining areas would make a huge difference in those temperatures.

The air conditioning in our room was also problematic. It made strange noises and leaked an enormous amount of water. It became so bad that our son’s bed ended up soaking wet. We repeatedly had to move his bed closer to ours because the bed would simply be made back up, despite the underlying problem still being there.

The standard of housekeeping was also extremely disappointing. We deliberately left our clean room card in the door, expecting the room to be properly cleaned. However, the only things that appeared to have been done were replacing toilet rolls, making the beds and emptying the bins. There was no evidence of any proper cleaning taking place.

The most serious issue during our stay was that myself, my husband and our son all developed severe diarrhoea. We cannot say with certainty what caused it, but given that we used bottled water for everything else, we were left concerned that it may have been related to something we had eaten. We became so wary of the food that we were afraid to eat anything particularly adventurous for the remainder of our stay. The situation became serious enough that reception had to contact a pharmacy and arrange medication for us.

The hotel also advertises a children’s pool, but this is essentially a very small, shallow pool with nothing for children to do or play with. There was very little to keep our children entertained during the holiday.

Overall, we simply cannot understand how this can be presented as a family-friendly resort. Travelling with two young children, we expected functioning facilities, clean rooms, comfortable communal areas and suitable entertainment for children. Instead, we experienced problems with the bathroom, air conditioning, housekeeping, food/illness concerns and children’s facilities.

This was supposed to be a relaxing family holiday, but unfortunately it became an incredibly stressful and disappointing experience.

We will absolutely not be returning to Marrakech Ryads Parc & Spa, and we would strongly recommend that families with young children carefully consider these issues before booking.

⭐ Nothing like the photos — deeply disappointed, do not recommend

I stayed at Marrakech Ryads and Parc and it was a huge letdown from start to finish — absolutely nothing like the pictures online.

From day one: the man at reception didn’t explain anything — not even that there were other restaurants on site. Worse still, he was smoking right there in the reception area while taking our bags — indoors where everyone walks through. The lobby, reception, and food court have no air conditioning at all — it was uncomfortably hot the whole time.

When he dropped our suitcases at the room, our key card was just left waiting outside — and when we asked for it, he pulled it straight from his pocket and handed it over. It really felt like he was just standing there waiting for a tip instead of doing his job properly.

Then the female receptionist when we went to book transport was so unapproachable. I’d ask a question and she’d answer then turn straight back to her colleague and keep talking — before I’d even finished! She looked so fed up with me just asking about things.

We asked for our room to be cleaned and it wasn’t done until the FIFTH day of our stay. The whole resort looked rundown and neglected — ants and creepy crawlies everywhere, inside and out.

Food was terrible too. First day it was disgusting — everything cold. Second day we went at the proper time and it was still cold. For breakfast they served leftover potatoes from the night before — stale and cold.

WiFi: They advertised free WiFi but it was so bad — barely worked, slow, kept cutting out, completely useless. False advertising.

Location: It’s also really far out from the actual city itself — not convenient at all if you want to explore Marrakech.

Unhelpful staff, rooms uncleaned, bugs everywhere, no AC in public areas, smoking indoors, reheated leftover food… I expected so much better. Won’t be coming back and can’t recommend it to anyone. If I could I would not even give that one start..
