Situated just outside the town and only 10 minutes from the centre, this charming hotel offfers an heated exterior pool in winter and is around 1 km from restaurants and bars, 2 kms from shops, 4 kms from nightlife spots and approximately 5 kms from Marrakech train station. Guests will find taxis right in front of the hotel and the bus stop is 10 minutes away on foot. The nearest beach is roughly 171 kms away. The guesthouse is approximately 15 minutes from golf courses and from Menara Airport. The hotel was built in 2005 and its architectural design is based on a southern kasbah. Large cob walls surround the place, and there is also an interior patio and fountain. The hotel comprises three riads of six suites each, and each one is reached via a tower comprising two royal suites. Each of the four buildings has a private swimming pool, private gardens and each floor has a private terrace.

O.K. but not great.
This was a last minute getaway so instead of staying where we had twice before we decided on somewhere different. The hotel is about 20-30 minutes from the city centre, so away from the hustle and bustle. It is a pretty run-down residential area but once through the gates it is a real oasis with so many trees and birds. The huge disappointment was that one day into our stay the pool was drained and the poolside restaurant closed! We had no warning of this. There are 3 very small pools in the grounds of some of the rooms but one didn’t have any proper filtration system and they were all packed. We luckily had a private garden so we had sun loungers there and that’s where we stayed. It was extremely hot but I was ably to pop in to the air conditioned room whenever it became too much! The room was large but very”tired”. It was fine though and had an enormous shower. Cleaning staff were efficient and very lovely. The food was O.K. - breakfast was a buffet of pastries, cold meats etc. There was a dodgy toaster! If you wanted eggs you had to ask a surly member of staff. It wasn’t generally advertised that they’d do eggs for you. After the pool restaurant closed, lunch was taken in the main restaurant. Sandwiches, burgers etc. all ok. The evening meals, again, were ok - nothing to rave about but equally, nothing to complain about. It’s the same menu every night. We were there for 10 nights so ate out 4 times for variety. In conclusion, it was fine for an impromptu holiday but I wouldn’t stay there again.

Our perfect oasis in Marrakech
This was yet another return journey to La Maison - it is our little oasis in Marrakech and we try and go every year. Due to commitments we went a little later which was July and it was as hot as hell! Despite having been twice before in July about 10 years ago global warming must be having an impact!
We always book to go into the newer rooms as we like the space and the outside terrace. Room is always immaculate and I was delighted after 10 years to see the evening menu had changed - lost a couple of things but gained a few new items. I cannot fault the chef - all of our meals have been great and we have always had an excellent service from staff.
Pool is lovely and the pool staff and gardeners work really hard to keep everywhere spick and span.
I do think communication could be improved at times - as a regular visitor we know how things work but I can see why some people might get confused over such things and for eg a simple sign saying omelettes available would help for breakfast.
This is not a 5 star hotel and guests need to remember that it does not have all of the amenities of a 5 star. What you do get in return though is a beautiful, peaceful oasis and excellent food and yes there are hundreds of places to stay in Marrakech but we will always go back - the generous warm welcome and the staff make our holiday with the staff having been there for many years. It truly is like going home - just not in July!

Hotel Morocco
Unfortunately my family and I had a bit of a bad experience whilst staying here. We did know it was a no frills hotel, but didn’t expect anything like this. Cockroaches in the room and bathroom ( even bubbling up from shower/sink!). Satellite tv did not work the entire time. The fountains at the entrance were never turned on. Once they were out of cereal or bottled water at breakfast, it would not be replaced. Water in room is free for first night, but if you run out, you have to pay or buy from outside the hotel. Hotel is situated 25 min outside Marrakesh and near a rubbish dump (you can small the dry heat smell when taxi window is open) . No one told us where things were on arrival, so discovered it ourselves. Mum and dad were not happy to leave kids (my sister and I, despite both being old enough) alone of going out as hotel is in a remote location. Shuttle service is not free you have to pay, as not provided by the hotel. There are no restaurants nearby to walk to, so have to drive if want to explore anywhere ! The pool side restaurant closes at 14:30 and dose not open agin until 19:00 in the evening. We only found out on our last day-, when we tried to get a bite to eat. This was because we had 3 hours until our taxi came, to pick us up for the airport. We where denied a room after checkout on our last day, so just had to wander around the hotel, or go out. Luckily we could leave our bags at reception. Sorry if this all sounds dissatisfying and depressing , this is an honest account of what happened during our family stay. There are some good bits though:The breakfast was okay and the gardens where lovely and well kept. The reception staff and cleaning staff where nice. The hotel was nice and peaceful, with the odd call to prayer every few hours. Lovely turtles and fish In brakefast restaurant pond. Beds where sometimes made nice with a towel sculpture and sprinkle of rose petals, but not always. Hotel has its won cats that wander around freely, or come in from outside. Don’t expect the hotel to be recognised instantly by drivers, as it is not clearly signed and you will have to explain where it is. (We had that a lot, there is a signed board but not until you 100% reach the turning or you could easily miss it!!) All in all would not definitely recommend staying here, unless you want a quiet place that is out of the city. You literally go away from Marrakech itself by about 25 min to get to it. Of course this depends on your point of view and what you are looking to experience. I have travelled to a lot of places with family and stayed in many accommodation - but sadly this one didn’t quite hit the spot. This was my third time in Morocco, but first time trying this hotel.

Spacious with good pretty out of town grounds
Chosen to stay outside of town after a late flight arrival. Very easy and quick to get to from airport. An oasis within an under developed area. Rooms spacious and clean, albeit quite vanilla. Dinner and breakfast average at best.
