Team Kids Club

Spent ten days here with three kids ages 4-10. Our only mistake was not sending the kids to the kids club sooner! They had a fantastic time and the staff were wonderful. Fati, Narjisse, Saad and Oumnia were brilliant with them and they couldn’t wait to go back!

Good in Parts, but Some Disappointments

We were upgraded to a suite on arrival, which was a fantastic start to our holiday. The room was incredibly spacious, with a separate living room, two toilets, and a double balcony. We stayed in Room 527, which was in a perfect location. The only downside was that the air conditioning struggled to keep up, but with temperatures reaching the mid-40s during our stay, it was probably unrealistic to expect anything more.

Food: The food was quite repetitive. The pizzas were excellent, and the tagines were always well-cooked and full of flavour, but the selection rarely changed from day to day. The restaurant staff were a bit hit and miss too, although I will say that a small tip seemed to make a noticeable difference to the service.

Cleanliness: This was my biggest concern, particularly in the restaurant. Tables were often left covered in dirty plates, food was regularly left on the floor, and there were frequently no clean plates or glasses available. On several occasions, I saw cutlery being taken from a dirty table and given straight to new guests. Tables were wiped down with dirty cloths and no antibacterial spray, so we ended up using our own disinfectant wipes before eating. Unfortunately, my husband was also quite unwell for a few days during the holiday.

Drinks: Once again, tipping seemed to make a big difference at the bars. There were a few occasions where I was completely overlooked in favour of men standing either side of me, which was disappointing. The drinks themselves weren’t great quality, and it was surprisingly difficult to get anything properly cold. I couldn’t understand why so many drinks were served warm, especially in such a hot climate. There were also a few times when there wasn’t even any bottled water available.

The paid cocktail bar was lovely and definitely worth visiting, but be aware that they only accept cash. It was also a little inconsistent with its opening times.

Bees: I’d read a lot about the bees before travelling and was genuinely worried, but in reality they didn’t have any real impact on our holiday.

The pools were excellent, the slides were great fun, and although the entertainment wasn’t really my thing, plenty of other guests seemed to enjoy it.

Overall, we had a decent holiday filled with sunshine and swimming, and we made the most of it despite the negatives we encountered. I did raise my concerns with the hotel while we were there, but unfortunately there wasn’t much response.

Would I return? Probably not. As a travel agent, I also don’t think I’d recommend this particular hotel to my clients. However, if you’re simply looking for a budget-friendly week in the sun and can overlook some of the shortcomings, it does offer good value for money.

Relaxation & Giggles at Kenzi Club

I travel alone - a lot and sometimes I don't get the service to which I am entitled. That may sound arrogant, I am not. Another group arrived at the same time I did, well before check in time. They received a welcome drink, greetings and a general welcome and introduction - I was left to my own devices., i.e. alone on a sofa. I was met with complete misunderstanding by the front desk when I pointed this out, yet before the levels of my lividity reached maximum levels, Fouad appeared. He understood my situation perfectly. Mint tea, sorted - a tour around the grounds on a buggy - special service and a WhatsApp number to text if there was anything needed - now that was exceptional! I was impressed with the very well-kept grounds; beautiful gardens and plenty of olive trees which create a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere and very well lit at night for a stroll.Ground Staff were always pleasant, even teaching and reminding me of the little Arabic I did know. The room was in the 8 block, close enough to the frivolities, but didn't disturb sleep. Well-proportioned, comfortable, and the provision of a bathrobe and slippers would have been a nice touch. The food was delicious: enough variety to enjoy healthy, not so healthy and absolutely outrageous calorific content and not feel guilty for a single bite! Tagines, Mesemen, grilled meats, salads - loved it all!!! Sitting outside could be challenging at times because of the honey bees, yet there was a solution for that as well: light water sprays: refreshing and kept the bees occupied elsewhere. A special shout out to Youssef, who always made sure a table was available, remembered what I liked to drink and was always ready with a smile. The biggest highlight of my stay, however, was the staff. Fouad! Youssef! You are special - thank you for your time and attention to detail and making my stay even more enjoyable with your kindness, excellent service and humour. It would be a pleasure to return.

A Mixed Experience: Amazing Staff, Average Hotel

We recently stayed at this hotel as a family of four, including our 1 year old, and I came away feeling that this hotel has so much potential to be great. Unfortunately, there are just too many shortcomings to ignore.

To start with the positives, the hotel grounds are beautiful, well maintained, and really give you that authentic Moroccan feel. Our room was spacious and comfortable for all four of us, which made our stay much easier. The staff also deserve a special mention, they are genuinely some of the best we’ve experienced anywhere. Every member of staff was friendly, hardworking, and always willing to help. They are a real credit to the hotel.

The issues began to add up quite quickly. The air conditioning in the rooms simply isn’t powerful enough, especially with temperatures reaching over 40°C. I’d definitely recommend packing a small travel fan if you’re staying here. We had an accessible room, which was spacious, but the wet room bathroom flooded every time we showered. It took ages to drain and dry, and travelling with an infant meant the slippery floor became a real safety concern. Our patio doors were also broken and secured with what appeared to be a temporary latch, while our terrace had overgrown shrubs, making it far from toddler-friendly.

The pools are lovely and refreshingly cool, providing welcome relief from the heat, and the slides are great fun! Sadly, the general maintenance around the pool areas is poor. There are cracked tiles, exposed wiring where lights used to be, and the toddler pool in particular felt unsafe, with uneven flooring and a grab rail that looked like it was hanging on by a thread. The sun loungers and parasols are either in need of repair or simply too dirty to use comfortably, making it difficult to find a decent place to relax.

The food was average. We always managed to find something to eat and thankfully none of us became unwell, but we found ourselves sticking mainly to the pizzas, pasta and chips. The pool bar food was honestly the worst we’ve experienced at an all-inclusive resort and is best avoided. Thankfully, there was enough available at the main meal times that we didn’t need to rely on it.

The drinks were another disappointment. Almost everything was served at room temperature rather than chilled, meaning we were constantly asking for ice to make them refreshing. The drinks from the pool bar were noticeably better than those from the main bar. There were also a lot of wasps around the outdoor bars, although to be fair the staff worked hard to try and keep them under control.

As for Morocco itself, we personally felt a little uneasy at times. We often felt uncomfortable when out and about, although we appreciate that everyone’s experience will be different.

This is what makes writing this review difficult. The staff genuinely deserve five stars, and the hotel itself has all the ingredients to be an amazing resort. With investment in maintenance, replacing the tired sunbeds, repairing the facilities, updating the rooms, and addressing the safety issues, this could easily become a five-star experience.

Sadly, in its current condition, it falls short of its potential. We had a pleasant enough holiday thanks to the wonderful staff, but unfortunately we wouldn’t choose to return.
