Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Honest opinion!! Hotel is a traditional morroccan riad, stunning but needs a good clean, literally in the middle of a building site in the desert! Sand/dust everyehere, toilet in room stained(filthy water stains) bath didnt hold water with plug in but when shower was on it filled with dirty water! Flies in room as cleaner opens the windows, changes towles and empty bin, makes the bed that's it! Had to ask bar for toilet roll. Friendly staff, but very basic English. Food very traditional, and same menu at the bar/restaurant daily. Not great. No actual amenities as advertised apart from quads or camels literally nothing, no pool side bar/cafe as advertised definitely no 10 min walk from anywhere. 40 mins by car to marrakech. Lovely morroccan riad just wrong place! The weather is beautiful but enjoy it on the roof as then pool is full of flies and on the terrace the begging children and adults do pester until you tell them. Disappointed as not what advertised would not go back
The staff are very friendly and helpsome. But this is far out from Marrakech city. 40 minutes by taxi. There is nothing here. The food at the hotel are tasteless. This is not a 4 star hotel. It is tired, dirty and the descriptions and pictures online are not correct. you will regret booking this hotel.
Honest review of this hotel.
I had seen the bad reviews and thought I’d give it a try anyway as some people are very pedantic, however…
. Breakfast is not great. It’s bread and cakes and yogurt but they do have fresh juice, tea, coffee etc. It’s a good breakfast if you like pastries. . The hotel is situated in the middle of literal nowhere. They provide a shuttle service free of charge and a taxi (100dh) each way (150 in the evenings). The local village has nothing in it and lots of residents who ask for money etc so it’s very awkward trying to go for a walk. . There is a lot of rubbish in the surrounding area. . The rooms are nice but this is very much a hotel for a couple to come if they want to turn their phone off for a week and do absolutely nothing. . The pool area is very nice. . WiFi is non existant so if you need that you’re going to have to spend money on a bolt on, I think we ended up spending about £85 for internet whilst there. . We had teenagers with us and we left early and booked somewhere else as there was nothing for them to do. . The roof terrace is lovely . The menu has about 10 items on it so it gets repetitive and in the three days we stayed they ran out of soft drinks twice. . The staff are lovely. . We did a camel ride and quad bikes through the hotel which I highly recommend. . There is no music or anything anywhere I’m not talking like loud clubbing music at the pool or anything but not even like nice background noise at dinner.
It’s a lovely hotel but should be advertised as a retreat of sorts. If you’re a couple or a single person looking to get away from absolutely everything it’s perfect. For family holidays it is not.
An honest review
Hotel After looking at some of the reviews online, I must admit to being very apprehensive If you’re looking for a five star hotel this is not it, if you’re looking for something genuine with friendly staff, beautiful bedrooms, authentic architecture and traditional food than this is the place for you. You’re the n the middle of a dessert, next to a small village so there is noise but it’s not overwhelming Myself and husband went to reconnect after a crappy year, and that’s exactly what we did. There is Wi-Fi, although it can be sporadic, I’d bought an eSIM so it made life simpler.
Food We booked half board - breakfast was very basic, lots of different types of bread, omelettes cooked on demand and plenty of coffee, fresh orange juice and mint tea. There was a decent menu to buy lunch from, averaging around £8 per person When it came to dinner, there was no menu. You got what you were given, but like we did, do stay upfront if you have any allergies or aversions to certain foods. Every night was a three course meal and we’re not the greatest of adventurous eaters but everything was tasty, well cooked and beautifully presented.
Pool The pool although quite cold was lovely and refreshing and clean. Although the grouting and tiles surrounding were a little broken and missing in sparodic places , only adding to the ambiance IMO but could be deemed a little unsteady under foot for small children and elderly to navigate
Getting around The shuttle was more of a cab, but for the price got us into the town and out again and is free, unless you book out of the times when it shouldn’t cost you more than 100 dinar, do take the cab number from hotel and call 30 minutes before return to get best price, the yellow cabs will tell you one price and another when they drive off, haggle or ask them to stop (worked for us)
Spa I was lucky enough to try the Spa on the last day the toning and relaxing massage I had was well worth the price. I paid around £40, which in fact in London it would’ve probably cost me up to £120
Overall I would suggest booking here if you want a getaway, not if you’re up for being entertained and night life I would and have already recommended this place to others and I hope to return
The hotel was authentic to Morrocco but it has many faults: BREAKFAST The breakfast can take a miss any day of the year, they had breads, cake, and more breads and cake. There were egg options, scrambled fried or boiled. Nothing else. There was good orange juice, morroccan mint tea and a selection of other teas. BATHROOM looked old but I must admit, for me it was Invigorating apart feom the fact the water was backing up and not draining off. THE TOILET atrocious, disgusting dirty and stained. THE BED Thin mattress but I must admit I had a comfortable sleep. THE BEDDING no covers for the quilts or pillow cases. Overall I would not go there again and the standard should be rated 2 stars ✨️
