The hotel is located in the city of Marrakech, in front of the Koutoubia Mosque and close to the medina and Djemaa el Fna square. There is a train station nearby and Menara Airport is about 3 km from the establishment. The family-friendly residence consists of a total of 40 rooms. Guests are welcomed to a number of in-house facilities, which include lift access and a TV lounge. They can choose to enjoy refreshments in the café and try a selection of Moroccan, Italian and other European dishes at the restaurant. Each of the rooms is decorated in a traditional Moroccan style and offers all amenities required for a pleasant stay.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Terrible customer service, inattentive staff and slow food service. Dirty rooms. Aircon didnt work in my room. Handle falling off the door. Television held together with sellotape. No table or unit to put things on. I come here for work but it is not a great experience
We booked two nights at this quirky hotel. Location is amazing, reception staff very friendly and helpful (especially the chap who worked nights), terraced restaurant overlooking the Mosque with a tasty but basic breakfast. Hotel is very noisy, which is to be expected in a city centre hotel. This hotel could definitely do with some maintenance and tidying up. Hardly any light switches work in corridors so it's dark at night and paint peeling off those walls, last step on stairs into terrace is very high and easy to trip on. House keeping is good, room was fine (shower leaks), Aircon works well.
Would class it as cheap and cheerful, so don't expect too much.
Would use again.
What a rip off!
The ATM at this hotel charged me 13% for a withdrawal today. No warning on the screen. Exercise extreme caution of ALL dealings with this hotel. Better still find a different hotel.
Currently staying at Hotel Islane. Location is great only afew minutes away from main shopping, food and souk. Although the Hotel is basic it is clean. Needs updating but what makes up for it is the staff. Aziz the manager is fantastic, if we had any minor issues he sorted it out straight away. Nassar is also very helpful. Our check in with Sharif was flawless and he answered all our questions. We are from UK and wanted English Tea and Aziz organised this. Breakfast is good. They make nice omelettes, pastries, coffee, moroccon tea etc. Aziz is slowly upgrading the hotel. I was very skeptic after reading the reviews but dont regret booking. Would definitely come back here today. Thank you Hotel Islane
Stayed in hotel Islane with my sisters first time l've come to Morocco, hotel rooms are basic but was cleaned everyday staff. Management AZIZ was very helpful with any questions about the area and excursions. Breakfast at the rooftop restaurant was included in our stay. Lovely view, we asked for English tea which Aziz provided for. Breakfast is basic but nice and fresh. Location is excellent. With markets, mosque and night life nearby. We chose this hotel due to its locations
