10/10 would come back

10/10 experience. From the rooms, food and activities team. I enjoyed every minute and will definitely be back again. Rooms were spacious and clean food was beautiful every meal time. The entertainment staff made sure they said good morning each day and were so kind. All staff are friendly and helpful.

Geen 5 sterren waard

Pickalbatros Hotel du Golf is definitely NOT worthy of a 5-star rating. The restaurant opens at 7:00 a.m., but nothing was ready. The coffee machines were not set up yet, and the juice machines weren't working either. If you wanted eggs, you had to wait until around 7:15 a.m., when someone finally arrived to prepare them—and clearly with very little enthusiasm. It wasn't until around 7:45 a.m. that breakfast was fully operational. There was simply not enough staff. Lunch and dinner were served lukewarm every single day. The drinks were warm as well. The cocktails were disappointing too—a Blue Lagoon was actually green. The aqua gym only started at 11:30 a.m. There were also not enough sunbeds available. The reception staff came across as rather arrogant. The hotel itself is beautiful, well maintained, and the rooms are nice, but that's where the positives end. The spa prices are excessive: €50 for a blow-dry, and around €100 per person for a scrub and a one-hour massage. There is absolutely nothing to do in the surrounding area. You need a taxi or the hotel's shuttle service to go anywhere. We were very happy that we only stayed for five days. In our opinion, this hotel certainly does not deserve a 5-star rating.

Mixed feelings

This is my honest review based on our 4 night stay as a couple. I’ll start with the positives. When arriving at the hotel you are welcomed straight away and presented with Moroccan tea and a biscuit. The staff are all lovely, very friendly, especially the animation team who greeted us every single day, they work really hard and definitely are a lovely asset to the hotel. The food we really enjoyed, there was always a good variety lt was tasty and we were never hungry. Now for the negatives-

Check in, we arrived just before midday and they will not let you check in until 3pm we were not offered a place to change into swimming wear so we sat on sofas just waiting for 3pm. Sun loungers- we thought as it was an adult hotel everyone would be chill and they’d be no “get down early to reserve” we were wrong my husband would have to get up every morning at 6.45 to reserve beds, if you go down after 9 you do not stand a chance of getting one, it’s frustrating as on multiple days sunloungers were reserved and the people who reserved them would literally be there for an hour of the whole day. The bee issue - gosh it’s an issue. On our third day my husband suggested to management to put out something to attract them to they would atleast go there instead of continuously flying around guests, they actually did put out a trap and by the end of the day it was so full. I found it hard to relax as they were around you constantly so spent most of my time in the pool. It is my suggestion they have something on the many trees they have around the resort to try and resolve the situation.

Our room - this was my biggest issue. We had a ground floor room facing the gardens, it was a big room and lovely and clean. The second day after returning from breakfast our room smelt so bad of sewage, so bad I thought I was going to be sick. We asked to be moved (bear in mind the one manager only works 9-5 out of this time nothing with be sorted) we moved to another room with no hesitation, that night I took a shower, the main head of the shower didn’t work so used the hand held attachment, I turned around and our whole room was flooded, not just by a little bit, you could paddle in it. The open plan showers do not dip to the drains they go the opposite way, so a single person shower became a two man job and not for romantic reasons!! Maintenance around the hotel needs to really be improved. Sockets off walls, handrails into pools, raised flooring. This hotel could be amazing, but currently it’s not anywhere near 5 star. Ultimately we wanted a relaxing stay, take away the issues we did have that but I wouldn’t return here

Lovely little gem of a adult only hotel.

What a super adult only hotel. The staff were all amazing and couldn't do enough for you. The 3 outside pools were spotlessly clean and checked throughout the day. Plenty of sunbeds to go around and if you needed shade the attendants would source a parasol for you. The main pool was lively with various activities but were all fun and no pressure to join in. The second pool was quieter to relax around and slink into the water to cool down. I would recommend taking a blow up lilo to float aound on. The bar served a variety of alcoholic and non alcoholic cocktails and I would recommend the Pink Lady cocktail which is gin based and very refreshing. Bottled beer was San Miguel and very nice.

The food was very good with an amazing section of continental and cooked style breakfast items, along with freshly cooked omelettes, pancakes and donuts and the breakfast cakes are a must, and we ate far too many. Freshly baked rolls were available at every meal and delicious. Lunch and dinner had something to suit everyone and included pasta dishes, bbq items, pizza, and tagines full of meats and vegetables in amazing smelling sauces, a varity of salad items and nibbles, bowls of nuts and fresh fruit and no one went hungry. Then we come onto the deserts, wow these were amazing both in looks and taste, again we all ate far too many!

Evening entertainment 9.30 to 10.30. Well this was the poorest aspect of the holiday. The staff tried hard, however the dance performances were out of time and not well choreographed and were poor. Then the 'thank yous' at the end went on and on and people watching drifted off. Quiz night could be far better but it was entertaining in a funny way. Karaoke night depended on the singers a few were amazing and unfortunately some were dire and embarrassing. The best night was the white party, where everyone wore white clothing (if you had packed any) and involved dancing and being taught new line dance sequences. This looked really good as everyone began to dance in time. The host always spoke in French first then in broken English but there were very few French people here! Having said all this, it was nice to just sit around outside with friends in the warm air, all dressed up, drinking a nice cocktail or beer listening to and watching the entertainment which did make us laugh. But credit must be given to the hard work the entertainment team put in to try and entertain us.

Trips out, I would highly recommend doing the dune buggies/quad bikes. This was an amazing experience riding through the dessert to an oasis where refreshments were provided and we were welcomed warmly. The trip into old Marrakech with a private guide to watch the sun set over the Atlas Mountains was amazing whilst sitting in a rooftop bar, overlooking the Medina. He took us on a tour through old Marrakech, what an explosion of culture. He told us the history of Morocco which was extremely informative. We walked aound the massive market of food stalls and various traditional musicians and story tellers, snake charmers and henna tattoo stalls. The sounds of heavy drum beats and wailing pipe music filled the air. After this we drove through new Marrakech, with big modern architecture and shops, what a difference to the old town! Our room at the hotel was lovely, big, spotlessly clean with a huge bed, crisp white sheets and so comfortable. Fresh towels provided daily. The bathroom is a walk in wet room with rain shower, so refreshing. Shampoo and shower soap provided aling with a hairdryer. There is a constant supply of bottled water which we kept in the fridge to keep cold. Tea and coffee provided, but need to drink it black as milk would go off in the heat. I did take some coffee bags. To sum up, I would recommend this adult only hotel as warm, clean and relaxing which suits all age groups. A super experience and there is golf course if you play golf! Thank you for a super holiday.

Amazing hotel and staff

Excellent service the minute we walked through they took our luggage straight away and was welcomed with friendly staff. Our rooms were cleaned every day especially our cleaner Bahia she went above and beyond leaving different layouts of the beds and rose petals on duvets. The whole experience was excellent. Being vegetarian lots of Tagine vegetables pizzas, chips, potatoes bit very repetitive as you would expect from all inclusive. Overall loved it.
