Nestled in the heart of Southern Suburbs, this hotel is an ideal spot from which to discover Marrakech. With its convenient location, 18 km from the city centre, the hotel offers easy access to the city's must-see destinations, like Jamaa El Fnaa Square and the Menara Gardens. The hotel offers fantastic facilities, including garden, tennis courts, kids club, fitness center, steam-room, to help guests unwind after an action-packed day in the city.
Honestly a lovely place the rooms are nice and well kept there's music on all day outside in the pool areas there's a good animation team my only critique on that is id wish they would be around the whole site rather than one area but that's it
Just back from staying at this hotel. We found that there is absolutely nothing around the outside of this hotel that you could easy stroll around so you had to stay within the complex or geta taxis. The atmosphere hear was ok for kids due to water park, however some of the slides were not open. The entertainment for the kids was fine, nothing for adults. The constant Moroccan music was very loud. We found the food was either very dry or burnt to a crisp and the same every night. The 2 bars around the pool were poorly stocked with limited choice of drinks. Everything was left out in the heat so not great. Kids could only get an ice-cream at 3 o'clock each day. In my opinion, the only thing that was good about this hotel was the waterpark.
We stayed at the Pickalbatros Aqua Fun Club for nine nights in July 2026 and had a very mixed experience. There were genuinely fantastic parts of the holiday — especially thanks to the entertainment team — but also several service issues that affected our stay.
The highlights:
The entertainment team — Farah, Omar, Abdel, and Ayoub — were absolutely outstanding. They were the heartbeat of the hotel and genuinely transformed our stay. Their energy, warmth, and enthusiasm were present from morning until night. They remembered guests personally, made everyone feel welcome, and delivered activities with professionalism, humour, and genuine passion. Whether it was sports, games, cooking sessions, or evening entertainment, they consistently went above and beyond. They are a credit to the hotel and deserve special recognition.
The hotel has also invested in fantastic new sports courts, including football, basketball, and padel. These facilities were modern, clean, and extremely popular — a brilliant addition for families and anyone who enjoys staying active.
We also appreciated that there were plenty of sunbeds available every day, with no early‑morning reserving or towel‑saving. The hotel grounds were surprisingly quiet and relaxed for the time of year, making it easy to unwind. Once resolved, the air conditioning worked well in the evenings too.
Where the hotel fell short:
Although we initially believed we were incorrectly charged tourist tax, we later learned that anyone aged 12 or over must pay — and our son is 13. However, the way this was handled was disappointing. The staff member at reception, Wiam, was rude when we questioned the charge and again when we requested a receipt. Unfortunately, this wasn’t an isolated incident.
During a lost property situation later in the stay, the same staff member made an inappropriate comment about us in another language — something another person overheard and translated. This was reported to management multiple times, yet nothing was done, and no follow‑up was provided. This lack of accountability was one of the most frustrating parts of our stay.
Our room also needed attention. The TV was hanging off the wall, and the AC initially barely worked, requiring late‑night maintenance. While the AC was eventually fixed, the TV still didn’t appear properly secured.
Food was okay but very repetitive, with limited variety across the stay.
Overall:
The entertainment team were the absolute stars of this hotel and genuinely made our holiday memorable. The new sports facilities are excellent, and the relaxed atmosphere around the pool was a real positive. However, the service issues — particularly the repeated rude behaviour from one staff member and the lack of management action — did impact our experience.
With better staff training, improved communication, and more consistent maintenance, this hotel has the potential to offer a much stronger overall experience. As it stands, our stay was a mix of fantastic moments and avoidable frustrations — but the entertainment team truly shone throughout.
Update.... Since writing my review I was approached by the member of staff that originally asked me to do the review (they tasked by management to get guests to do reviews so she was only doing her job) to say that management have asked if I would remove it. I said no as I felt that my review was fair. I then went with the staff member to find out who had asked her to approach me and it was Hafsa from guest relations. She said that management didn't want the member of staff who I had complained about to be named in the review. I told her that I have mentioned several staff members and that I disagreed that I should delete it. It's unfair that the hotel think it's acceptable to name the amazing staff but don't agree when you name the bad ones. At the end of the day WIAM was extremely rude on more than one occasion and I am disgusted that nothing has been done. At the time of my complaint another male manager agreed with me that she was rude and that HR would be involved and she would be gone due to how bad she is, however she still remained. The main manager returned on the day we left as he had been on holiday but we were not able to speak to him due to us leaving. I have since been told that he is very friendly with WIAM and this is why nothing is done and she can continue to be rude to paying guests! Absolutely disgusting! Not only this, Hafsa had said she would speak to management and come back to me but never did!
When we arrived the receptionist Wiam was very rude and has continued to be rude throughout our stay. Most recently we lost something and went to reception to ask for help finding it and she again was very rude and told her colleague that I was annoying as I keep going to the desk to ask questions. ( She thought I wouldn't know she had said it but luckily someone else at the desk translated as they too thought it was disgusting that she was speaking about a guest in that way!) Each time we walk past she gives us a dirty look. She has made out visit uncomfortable.
The one thing that has made me give a higher rating is the animation team, they are so amazing. They work really hard and get everyone involved. Special mention to Farah, she has so much energy and is so kind and caring. Love doing the activities with them all such as darts, ping pong and Zumba. The pool/foam party on Friday is also especially good. The team worked so hard to make sure we all had fun.
The staff at the basketball court have been great too. Always happy to play with my son. Omar played with him on the first day and then the other staff since have also got involved each time he goes there.
Rooms are a great size, did have a problem with air con to begin with but the guest relations lady Hafsa sorted that for us on the second day after once again Wiam had failed to help us.
Food is a little repetitive. Same stuff every day but still nice enough. Could do with an a la carte restaurant to give other options.
The slides are great but some not always open for various reasons. We were unfortunate to experience poo in the kids slide area but the staff were quick to close and clean it.
Still got a few days here so hopefully we will continue to enjoy it.
We are disappointed that management have not dealt with the issues with Wiam in reception, they assured us she would be dealt with but shes still there and still continues to glare at us each time we go past. Pathetic!!!
I’d recommend this hotel to everyone. Very clean, the food is great with amazing selection and the water slides are so fun. The entertainment team made our stay even more exciting and enjoyable, especially Ayoub and his aqua gym sessions!
