Aqua Fun Club Marrakech

I think the got their 5 stars from the Medina. I have never stayed at a five star hotel and been given wine or any drink, apart from round the pool, in a plastic cup. I asked for a straw and the bar man proceed to look for one in the sink from a previous guest. The food is not great, omelette in the morning are the exception and was my favourite. The staff in the restaurants and guest areas are lovely and so helpful. The room was okay but most days we had to ask for towels or cups etc. Would I go back ... Yes when hell freezes over.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this hotel.

I kept our passports and most of our cash securely in the room safe, but had approximately £120 separately in my bag for everyday spending.

One morning, while we were at the water park and pool, housekeeping cleaned our room. Later, while we were resting inside, our door was opened by a member of housekeeping. I clearly said that we did not need anything and asked them to leave, but the staff member still entered the room to leave a towel.

Later that day, when I went to get something from my bag, I discovered that the £120 was missing. I checked with my husband to make sure he had not taken it, and he confirmed that he had not.

I immediately reported this to the hotel and asked them to check the CCTV. I was told it would be investigated and that I would receive an update the following morning. However, when I returned the next day, the staff I spoke to seemed to have no knowledge of my complaint. I had to explain the situation repeatedly to different people, each time being told that the CCTV would be checked.

Eventually, I was told that nothing had been found and that housekeeping had knocked before entering our room. This did not match my experience, as I was inside the room and did not hear a knock. More importantly, I had clearly asked the staff member not to enter, yet they entered anyway.

I cannot say who took the missing money because I did not see anyone take it. However, the money disappeared from my bag during our stay, and I was extremely disappointed by the hotel’s handling of such a serious complaint.

Guests should be able to trust that their belongings are safe in their hotel room. A small safe cannot hold every valuable possession you travel with.

Unfortunately, after this experience, I would not return to this hotel. I would strongly advise other guests to be very careful with their belongings.
