Aqua Fun Club Marrakech

We had a fantastic stay at Pickalbatros Aqua Fun and would happily recommend it, especially for families with children.

The food was absolutely delicious and there was a great variety. One thing that really stood out was that they served lamb chops every single day — honestly, this is the only hotel I’ve ever stayed at where lamb chops were available daily!

The pools were clean and well maintained, and there were loads of slides with something always open, so the kids were never short of things to do. The pickleball court and football pitch were also very well maintained. Overall, it’s an excellent hotel for children and families.

The shuttle service into town was another big plus. It was very efficient, reliable and always on time, which made getting around really easy.

All the staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.

A special mention has to go to Rania at the Columbus Bakery Coffee Shop. She makes the best cappuccino! Her attention to detail is impeccable, and she is always so friendly and welcoming. Without a doubt, Rania makes some of the best hot drinks we’ve had in Morocco. She is a real credit to the hotel and deserves special recognition.

⚠️ One thing to be aware of

Be very careful with your checkout time. Checkout is at 12:00 noon on the dot, and we were told that if you go over the checkout time, you can be charged £40. So make sure you’re packed and checked out before 12 to avoid any unexpected charges.

Overall, a brilliant family holiday with great food, fantastic facilities, friendly staff and plenty to keep the kids entertained.

Overall had a great time here with a few issues that did not tarnish what was a good family holiday. Positives were: No sun bed wars, always a good spot available around the pool. Kids particularly loved both the splash park and water park with no issues with the availability of floats. Animation team were outstanding and a great bunch. Staff in the restaurants and bars were great extremely helpful, friendly and professional. The food at mealtimes was outstanding. Was pleasantly surprised at the standard on offer and thought the tangines were a great idea that allowed you to try local things.. Beer was cold, local wine was fine. The not so good: Nighttime entertainment was fairly abysmal unless you were under 10. Housekeeping was unpredictable and hit and miss. Room not cleaned or towels refreshed numerous times. Staffing of pool bars by singleton staff made it a wait for drinks. No lobby bar. No dress code for meals. Numerous male guests wandering round the buffet both shirtless and barefoot. Not very hygienic. Witnessed mums dipping their fingers into jam pots to give young kids a taste, pretty yuck. The hotel is fairly isolated around 25-30 mins outside centre of Marrakesh. Would recommend a guided night time tour as it’s pretty hectic. There is nothing to see outside the hotel and the drive in reminded me of what turkey was like 30 years ago before the roads and infrastructure was upgraded and regular refuse collection. All in all had a pretty good time and enjoyed ourselves.
