Exceptional
Our time at Bamburi Beach Hotel was exceptional. BBH was the final stop on our 13-day trip across Kenya. It was the perfect way to complete our time after experiencing city life, a tea farm, and safari drives. We were treated like VIP guests from the moment we arrived. Upon our arrival, we were greeted with wonderful drinks and promises of an amazing stay.
That promise was kept.
Our stay was filled with good food at every turn, kind and attentive staff, and several clean, beautiful spaces to lounge, eat, swim, and rest. BBH was recently renovated - I believe in 2025. This was the primary reason that I selected this hotel for my family.
I do have one con: Once at the hotel, it is very difficult to leave. Our plan was to spend a day exploring Mombasa - which is about a 30-minute drive from the hotel. But we were so comfortable that my family quickly decided against this - instead we made a quick trip to Mombasa after lunch to visit Akamba Handicraft (which I highly recommend), then went back to BBH for dinner.

Beautiful Bamburi Beach Hotel! Best Staff Ever!
I've stayed in many hotels across the world and the Bamburi stands head and shoulders above the rest! If you're looking for a hotel that feels like a home away from home, wonderful energy from staff that feels warm, organic and welcoming, immaculate care and attention to cleaning throughout the hotel, delicious food and an animation that are always energetic and encouraging then Bamburi is the place for you!
I chose the hotel as a base to celebrate my 50th birthday and I couldn't have chosen better, every member of staff, no matter their role, made it feel so very special.
To name just a few of the wonderful people,Steve at the pool bar served amazing cocktails, Joel ( thank you for the amazing seafood on our last night) Matthew, Elizabeth, Bibiane ( you made my mum's tea to perfection) Annita( my name's sake) Emma, Evyline, Margaret, Thomas, Bridget, Ezra and a beautiful young lady with braids at reception, who organised my birthday breakfast and room decor ( I'm so sorry that I don't remember how to spell your name, but thank you so much. Last but by no means least Lorna, when my my mum was unwell, she was like an angel, her calm, encouraging nature and warm hug just made everything easier. Even on her days off she ensured that we were looked after and that, was the most invaluable experience of our stay.
A hotel is just bricks and mortar without the right people to bring it to life, the Bamburi has the gold standard and they should all be treated as such and rewarded for their first class endeavours and achievements. I'll be back very soon.

Amazing place!!! Absolutely fantastic
The hotel is absolutely fantastic, exceeded our expectations since the very first minute. Swimming pools and lobby is truly beautiful, clean restaurant serves great food, you have second swimming pool if you wish to relax in more silent atmosphere. Gym has everything you need (including the instructor waiting to give you a PT) animations and animators are cool and fun. Rooms clean, fresh and beautiful, bed is awesome! Bathroom as well! But the true beauty is about customer service, here we have the nicest and most professional people we met. Have to name Festus who welcomed us and Bridget, who helped us to enjoy and relax on the pool. But all, we don’t remember names were also great, kind and helpful. Thank you Bamburi beach!
