The Royal Savoy… where the staff are everything!
We have just returned from our stay at the Royal Savoy ( located in Soho Square and not to be confused with the Savoy) and, despite some circumstances outside the hotel’s control, we came away with a great deal of respect for the hotel and, in particular, its staff.
There is currently significant construction taking place on the neighbouring site, which unfortunately did have an impact on parts of our holiday. There was noise and dust at times and, naturally, this wasn’t what we had envisaged when booking a relaxing break. However, I think it is very important to say that this work is not being carried out by the Royal Savoy and is outside the hotel’s control.
What impressed us most was the way the Royal Savoy team dealt with the situation. Rather than simply shrugging their shoulders, they genuinely went above and beyond to try to make things better for us. We were listened to, treated with kindness and consideration, and the staff did everything they reasonably could to make sure we were comfortable and able to enjoy our holiday.
Our room was lovely, comfortable and very well looked after, and the hotel itself remains a beautiful place to stay. The grounds and pool areas are kept extremely well, and there is a calm, relaxed atmosphere that makes the Royal Savoy feel a little more special than a standard resort hotel.
The biggest compliment I can give is to the staff. From housekeeping and the pool team to the restaurant, bar and management staff, we found people consistently friendly, helpful and genuinely keen to look after their guests. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble.
No hotel can completely overcome something happening on a neighbouring property, but the Royal Savoy did everything within its power to minimise the impact on us, and that deserves recognition.
So while I wouldn’t pretend the construction didn’t affect our stay, I also wouldn’t want it to overshadow our experience of the Royal Savoy itself. The professionalism and kindness shown to us made a difficult situation considerably better, and we are very grateful to everyone who looked after us.
It is very easy to judge a hotel when everything goes perfectly. I think you often learn much more about a hotel when something goes wrong — and the way the Royal Savoy responded spoke volumes about how much they care about their guests.
Most importantly, despite the issues caused by the neighbouring construction, we would happily return to the Royal Savoy in the future. That probably says more than anything else

Had the best holiday at the royal savoy with my wife weather was brilliant the hotel was the best I’ve ever stayed at and emad helped us with every thing we needed he was brilliant and all the staff were excellent always looking to help you carnt fault anything here and will be returning for the 3rd time next vacation
Excellent holiday
We travel world wide and this was one of our favourites A relaxing and very enjoyable holiday. It’s a great resort, with friendly and efficient staff. We did start to make a list of staff who provided good service, but then we realised it was all of the staff, without exception, from the gardening staff, the cleaners, the catering and reception staff and management. Excellent and plentiful choice of restaurants and a simple on line app, so you could book the restaurants direct. Really good pool area and the beach was directly in front of the hotel with opportunities to snorkel amongst all of the tropical fish, off the two jetties. If you wanted entertainment and nightlife, the Soho Square, part of the hotel complex was a short walk away, with bars, restaurants and entertainment. We will certainly go back to this hotel for another relaxing holiday. We must mention one staff member, Ahmed, who provided an excellent service around the pool area, providing towels and finding suitable areas for all customers. WE WILL BE BACK

I can’t say enough about how wonderful this hotel is the staff are so helpful and the reception staff will go out of their way to help you. Everyone in this hotel made our stay such a delight and very relaxing. The rooms are beautiful and very clean the beds are very comfortable and I’m picky about my beds. The food is excellent and you have a choice of restaurants. Thank you the Royal Savoy
