SUNRISE Remal Resort

So we re-visited the Sunrise Remal Resort again this June. I have to say it was another amazing and relaxing break. What is so special here is the fact that the resort is so compact. No long walks or golf carts needed, everything is in close proximity. It was nice to see old friends, familiar staff, who tend to all your needs with a smile and a laugh. They truly demonstrate the ethos of the General Manager Mr. Affy, and his investment in their well-being is so evident. There are so many to mention but Ehab, Mohammed and Alla at the pool bar were brilliant and so well supported by their manager Ahmed. It was a joy to see Bassam still at the SunRay bar, try his Bloody Marys, the best. The food here is amazing and there are choices for everyone. The A-la-Cartes do not disappoint and Mohammed, Mr Alsayed and all the staff were brilliant. The pool staff are so funny and so helpful, again nothing is too much trouble. Mohammed and Mr. Ahmed stand out. The pool guys ensured we got sprayed with the water mist in the heat and that was so refreshing. There’s always something going on, be it fruit kebabs, mocktails and brownies appearing round the pool, to specialist nights in the buffet restaurant. There’s a vibe about this place and it’s a good one, day entertainment is low key but there if you want it. There’s no pressure to take part and the entertainers make sure they chat with everyone. A big tip, try the Hammam at the spa, speak to Mohammed around the pool and he will sort for you. We missed some old faces, especially Shebl who was on holidays, but Ahmed at reception was a great help. It was good to chat with Mr. Affy, and at night Mr. Hameed always had time to chat. I think the true test of a hotel is how at ease and relaxed you feel and whether you would return. The answer to all this is yes, yes and yes. Home from home and we will always return.

We have just returned from 10 days at the Sunrise Remal Resort. We were a group of 15 - 8 adults and 7 children. First of all the hotel is beautiful, the gardens and grounds are some of the best kept we’ve ever seen so hats off to the staff working round the clock and often going unnoticed!

Rooms - these are clean and comfortable. The bed was a little hard for my liking but that’s personal preference. Amazing blackout blinds for a good sleep, well stocked fridge, some English channels available for kids, lovely balcony on the ground floor. If you want a quiet room ask for one away from the main pool. All got stunning views but there is a pool party once a week by the main pool until 11pm and it is LOUD! The air conditioning is amazing in the rooms too. Our cleaner, Moustafa, was so so sweet, always friendly and saying morning and doing incredible towel art!

Pool - pool is huge, it’s 1.3m everywhere so hard for smaller children but ours loved it with a vest on. There is a baby pool elsewhere but there’s no music and nobody sits around it so not the best but around it is under construction which is probably why. Alla behind the pool bar is a great guy, never stops and friendly. The sunbeds are exceptionally comfortable and lots of brollies for shade. There was one guy who comes round and sprays you with ice cold mint water on your sunbed and it is one of the best things I’ve experienced on a holiday! Such a good idea. They clean your glasses, bring your drinks and just generally do everything they can to make your pool day relaxing! The chef often came round with little sweet treats too. HUGE shoutout to Abdo and Mohamed the lifeguards .. 2 of the nicest most genuine sweetest guys ever. They played with our kids like they were there own, they cared so much when they got hurt and they hd a laugh with our whole group! Absolute legends we can’t thank them enough for their warmth and care!

Restaurant - pool bar was open 12-5 and did pizza, burger, chips, chicken shawarma and hot dogs. Nice enough food and service. The main restaurant had some beautiful food and was always well stocked and warm. The staff again work round the clock to deliver the goods. The staff always made sure our table was full of drinks for our arrival, they accommodated our huge group every meal and even went above and beyond to decorate our table for my nephews 5th birthday and our wedding anniversary. They made us feel so special. Our children hugely struggled to find anything to eat, no chips, nuggets, pizza in the main restaurant HOWEVER we spoke to the manager Khaled, guest services ladies and the main chef and they accommodated our children every meal by making them things they would eat. I’ve never known service like this, amazing from them all! Front of house lady Fatma is so sweet! A beautiful soul to welcome us in, making a fuss of our children always blowing kisses and sharing her love! The flatbread guy (Allam) also made my husband his very own after he couldn’t compliment his cooking enough. Our waiter Mohamed was also very attentive and went above and beyond to meet our dining needs.

Shops - there are a few shops on sight. The inflates are extortionate! The pharmacy is well stocked and the guy was very very knowledgable and helpful and it is cheap! The mini supermarket shop had a few snacks for the kids and the owner was amazing! He fussed over our kids, especially our baby and was so friendly.

The final thanks has to go to Shebl the concierge. This man IS A LEGEND! An absolute credit to the hotel, I’d even say the heart of this place! From the second we stepped in he welcomed us home and just went so far above and beyond to help us. He organised my nephews birthday, our anniversary, taxis, money exchange. Nothing was too much for him. I hope he gets the recognition he deserves from the management because he truly is a gem!

Tip for guests: take small change in English, USD or Egyptian (can change by machine in card or cash at the hotel) for tips. The staff DO NOT expect it but they absolutely deserve it! I’ve never known staff like this hotel they truly are amazing!

Thank you for a beautiful holiday and something I NEVER say but we would and will 100% return in the future as they are expanding in so many ways.

Brilliant holiday. Close to the airport, amazing weather and staff that make the whole family feel valued and special. A MASSIVE shout out to Alaa (Barman). From our very first day, he was warm, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. An absolute gent - thank you. Food, rooms and the hotel in general were all brilliant. Rally enjoyable holiday and would definitely recommend.
