We arrived around 8pm, easy check in and bags taken to our room. The room was fine, we had booked a club room and it was big enough for the 4 of us (2 adults and 2 teens), it had 3 small double beds and 1 pull out bed on which the mattress was like a rock. Apart from that the room was absolutely fine. Large bathroom, plenty of storage and the aircon was good (until the last day when it started dripping water but it was fixed quickly) Kettle with tea and coffee was provided too and the balcony had a table with 2 chairs.
Beach towels easy to change, wrist bands were lost a couple of times and no issues getting new ones.
The main pool area is huge, it definitely needs some money spending on it, it is looking very tired in places. The water was warm but that was due to the 37 degree heat, it doesn’t really cool you down. We also went out on the pier and beach which was lovely, the sea is also warm! No respite from the heat.
The pool bar would have been great if there was ever a bar person there to serve drinks!
Aqua park - open 10 til 1 then 3 til 5, a really good selection of slides for all ages. Definitely take water shoes as the floor is absolutely boiling!! The area could also needs some money spending on it.
Food - unfortunately not great at all, we lived off pasta, rice and chips. (Carb overload) We arent fussy eaters either but I think the food was aimed more towards the Russians. We went to the Italian à la carte, honestly do not do it, it was awful and I was sick afterwards.
Drinks - don’t expect much, beer ran out most nights and the choice is minimal, mainly rum, gin and vodka. All soft drinks are served out of bottles and are warm most of the time.
The best bar is the lobby bar which stays stocked up but it’s not really a bar where you would want to spend the night.
The terrace bar was our favourite after the sun had disappeared as no shade. The barmen here really made our holiday, Paulo and Ahmed and the others work so hard, they knew what we drank and made a fuss of us every time. They would also create different cocktails for us which were really good. We did tip them and it was great as they would find us around the pool and bring drinks to the sunbeds.
All in all we did have a lovely time and relaxed which is what we needed but unfortunately I dont think we would come back unless they made some improvements.
Firstly the room wasn’t what we booked and paid for. Have been told by a senior member of staff that 80% of the hotel is reserved only for the Russians and priority has been given to them. The Wi-Fi is non existent and only works by main reception area so a eSIM is a must. The hotel has a lot of construction work still going on at all hours of the day, the main reception area is clean and air con is on all the time the rest of the hotel is very tired and needs updating. The hotel also has cockroaches in certain parts.
The food at the hotel is really basic and not what you expect from a four star hotel. The drinks are all warm even the water bottles are warm until you tip, then all of a sudden cold water bottles appear.
When sitting by the pool or at the beach you are constantly approached by the members of the photography, hair braiding, massage/spa, tour operators and club reps that don’t take no for an answer. All are cheaper outside the hotel, literally across the road from hotel. The hotel needs another band for your wrist to say LEAVE ME THE F… ALONE.
Thanks for Mr Ahmed Hafiz and Mr Ayman
